Akasumi Posted January 1, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 1, 2016 So, I was doing a quest in Lavender Beds. And I noticed EVERY ward is full. So does that mean, being I'm a late comer to FFXIV, I'm pretty much shit outta luck in terms of housing when I reach the level to own a home? Link to comment
MBajihri Posted January 1, 2016 Share #2 Posted January 1, 2016 More will come out or you can bribe someone to relinquish their plot so you can purchase it! Don't give up hope, but it'll be a LOT of work. Link to comment
Ashe Posted January 1, 2016 Share #3 Posted January 1, 2016 They are releasing more houses soon and as FCs die, their homes will be repossessed. Same with single player homes. Link to comment

Alternative are a room with an FC, try and find one that is released, convince someone to relinquish the plot. I expect there will be competition for released plots though. Link to comment

Oh there definitely will be. I hope for SE's sake they release at least four to eight more wards. Or people are going to FLIP. Link to comment

Aldotsk Posted January 1, 2016 Share #7 Posted January 1, 2016 Instead you'll be able to get your own "mansion" which is basically an apartment of private chamber in the future. Link to comment
Akasumi Posted January 1, 2016 Author Share #8 Posted January 1, 2016 So, in essence, what I'm gathering is: Become VERY rich in terms of gil, probably bordering on the hundreds of millions of gil, to HOPEFULLY find someone willing enough to give up their plot through bribery, or you will be one of the - "Tough shit, kid, better luck next millenia" crowd and be happy with an inn room as your 'plot'. Because the chance of Enix releasing anything new is like trying to win Powerball in the states. A one in a billion shot. Link to comment
Kage Posted January 1, 2016 Share #9 Posted January 1, 2016 Additional wards are planned for 3.3 Sometime after are apartments and then isghard wards. Problem with wards is that there is a lot of gil in circulation that even the max price non-devalued houses can go very fast. 5mil, 35 mil, 70mil ranges. It should be noted that people are now receiving warnings for their public sales on PF given enough reports (don't know anything about WTB pfs). Link to comment

People have flipped before. Thing is, SE doesn't appear to particularly care. They do seem to care when the Japanese player base does, however, and while housing doesn't seem to be on the top of their list of complaints from what I've seen the general consensus amongst the overseas players is starting to come very much in line with our own on other matters. With any hope SE will be more giving towards the issues all of it's players have rather than sweep it all under the rug. Then again, I'm not holding my breath. Link to comment

People have flipped before. Thing is, SE doesn't appear to particularly care. Can't say I entirely agree given the additions coming in 3.3 onward. I think it's more they continuously underestimate the greed of people (selling houses for absurdly high mark ups) and didn't truly appreciate the overwhelming popularity of the "slice of life" genre for western audiences. Granted, I'm speaking more for the FFXIV dev team than SE itself, I suppose. Link to comment
Shofie Posted January 17, 2016 Share #12 Posted January 17, 2016 You don't need hundreds of millions of gil; you just need to be patient and diligent in checking the housing wards and seeing if a plot is available to purchase. I imagine the easiest way to do this is just camp the Aetheryte in the housing area you're most interested in, and wait to see if a plot becomes available. Or camp in the ward you want, etc. That said, this is always a gamble and incredibly time-consuming, so whether this is actually a viable option is up to you. They're going to add "apartments" and the Ishgard housing ward "soon", so that's something to look forward to. Link to comment

Shofie Posted January 17, 2016 Share #14 Posted January 17, 2016 Yeah, having a job can be a pretty big hindrance to getting things done sometimes in-game. ;_; Link to comment

Heart Quintessence Posted January 18, 2016 Share #16 Posted January 18, 2016 Sadly housing is one of those things, that they're working on. They do want to do ' Instanced' housing, but they also I don't think have the server copacity to build thousands of 'extra houses' ( and plots for them, since the plots & houses are two seperate entities. Yeah, you are kinda outta luck on Balmung. Might get lucky. But its RARE. Like getting a SLOT on Balmubng when its open for the 30 seconds it seems like it must be. Link to comment

Kage Posted January 22, 2016 Share #19 Posted January 22, 2016 More wards for 3.3 was confirmed in Letters from the Producer LIVE XXVI Q4: We have the auto reclamation this month, but can you please let us know about future addition of land? A4: We have confirmed that we will be increasing the amount of land for existing housing areas in Patch 3.3. After this we’re planning to introduce mansion type housing, and housing in the Ishgard area. These two are being developed in parallel, but in order to meet everyone’s demand, we will implement the mansion-type housing as a first priority. Currently it’s being planned that one mansion will be able to hold 512 residences. As for gardening, we think this will be difficult, but we’re currently developing new pots that will allow gardening, so please look forward to this. As for furnishings with high demand, we have a goal now to increase the amount of items which can be placed, so please wait a bit longer. Their previously announced plans were as follows in this order: 1. Reclamation 2. More land 3. Ishgard Area (+ ability to relocate plot from one area to another) And now added, 4. Apartment (mansion-type) housing They mentioned not wanting to do Ishgard housing until the war was less... a war. Considering the story is moving along that line (3.1 MSQ) and they mentioned 3.2 MSQ quests starting the end of the war, we can assume we might get ishgard area 3.4 or later. 2 Link to comment

Plans for Land for Housing We’re thinking of ways to make empty lands. First, we would like players to create houses on these empty lands, then once the moving feature is implemented, we’re looking into either adding more land into existing housing areas, or to create new housing areas in Ishgard.
