EkheiBalduin Posted July 16, 2014 Share #27 Posted July 16, 2014 I ... have played the trumpet since 4th grade (that was uh ... 17 years ago? Holy smokes) I was in Drama Club in HS (As an actor and Stage Manager/Light Guy/Curtain Puller) I was in Men's Choir and Marching/Concert/Jazz Band in college. I was also in a Traveling Drama group during college. I could go on ... but I think I'll stop. EDIT: I don't read instructions very well. Oh well! 1 Link to comment
TheLastCandle Posted July 16, 2014 Share #28 Posted July 16, 2014 Between high school and college, I was in 12 different productions of Hamlet: Claudius in 5, Polonius in 3, Horatio in 3, and Hamlet exactly once and that was the last performance. Each time, the part I'd auditioned for was the lead. When I finally got it, I decided I'd end it on that note. 1 Link to comment
Crisiet Posted July 16, 2014 Share #29 Posted July 16, 2014 I freaking LOVE Disney movies. For Yve because he ALREADY KNEW THAT: The only starring role I've ever had in anything ever was as the Little Red Hen when I was five. 1 Link to comment
Okichi Posted July 16, 2014 Share #30 Posted July 16, 2014 I was also in FIRST robotics! But what I wanted to share is... I'm a rhythm game fanatic, especially the Bemani series, such as Beatmania, DDR, Pop'n Music, and others. Shameless channel plug/showing off here... Uxyvi0R7Y3g Link to comment

The biggest roles I ever had were in small local theaters. I got the lead in Henry V because I had the St. Crispin's speech memorized and the very uneducated producer liked my "weird accent" (dutch/english). [video=youtube] I got Sweeney Todd's lead because I love this song, know it perfect, and delivered it sad with tears on command. [video=youtube] Everything else was background or supporting. LiveVoltage Posted July 17, 2014 Share #36 Posted July 17, 2014 My secret is less special then these secrets. I use "LiveVoltage" as a consistent username across all sites I subscribe to or sign up for, with a few of them being slightly different due to the fact that users already took the username. I think I do it though because it serves for people to better identify me across the interwebz and to show what community's I frequent or something along that line. ._. Link to comment

Maril Posted July 17, 2014 Share #38 Posted July 17, 2014 I have won several junior championships local to Denmark (Including the Danish Championship), and placed fourth in the Nordic championships, in Archery. I shot with the compound bow until I was about 17, where I saw myself forced to quit the sport due to life and an old arm injury preventing me from progressing any further. My first choice class for most MMORPG's is always anything that wields a bow ^^ But I often end up playing something else. Oh, and the arm injury I got when I was 12, when a horse decided to let me over the jump first and I decided to soften my landing on the ground with my elbow. Three surgeries and a 14-stitch surgical scar - Can't recommend trying that. Link to comment
Gharen Posted July 17, 2014 Share #39 Posted July 17, 2014 Planned to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps out of high school but was ultimately unable due to an injury sustained my junior year, I started classes in EMT and structural fire fighting after graduation but ended up as a wild land firefighter for a year in Southern California. Now I Monitor and Admin the Navy and Marine Corps Intranet. Kinda wish I kept with the Fire Fighting. Link to comment
Erik Mynhier Posted July 17, 2014 Author Share #40 Posted July 17, 2014 This is really great getting to know you all. I'll throw out another. When I got out of the service (US) I had a lot of money saved and no where to be so I moved back to Amsterdam for two years and did nothing but attend classes at the academie voor middeleeuwse Europese krijgskunsten. I did quite well and even won a minor tournament held in Amsterdam where I defeated an old rival from primary school. Sweet, sweet victory. Here was me. The teacher had us all do glamour shots in case we won things so the academy could use it later for advertisements. I'm actually a little embarrassed of the photo. 1 Link to comment

Berrod Armstrong Posted July 17, 2014 Share #44 Posted July 17, 2014 I was a stripper for eight years. Now I'm a therapist. ............. This is magical information ROFL. I only actually stopped stripping three months ago. It got me through my first year of college, then after that it just became a hobby/job on the side. It was an interesting experience, and I got to help a lot of the less fortunate guys in the business. A porn studio even tried to recruit a few of us -- that was something else. However, I declined in favor of a career in psychology. I started work as a counseling therapist for emergency response personnel and worked my way up from there (while stripping on the side the whole time!). My newest job made me finally give it up. It was a sad parting, but the time had come! 1 Link to comment
Gaspard Posted July 17, 2014 Share #45 Posted July 17, 2014 ...Twerking for Education. Ironic what lengths some of us have to go through simply to capitalize on our god-given talents. Then again I bet the money was quite good. EDIT: Also, I find it interesting just how many of us end up infatuated with Psychology. I think I've met atleast 6-7 roleplayers by now that Are, or wanted to become Psychologists. Link to comment

As for people's infatuation with psychology -- it's a very intriguing and rewarding profession! I'm still in the early years of it but so far I've not yet regretted the career choice. Link to comment

I started studying networking a long time ago and realized I hated it with a PASSION. Computers are fun -- and knowing about them and how they connect to each other is great, but it just wasn't the career path for me. So now I call up my irritable IT buddies whenever something goes wrong they hate me so much Link to comment
Stormwind Posted July 17, 2014 Share #50 Posted July 17, 2014 I'm a weather geek. I served four years in the US Navy as a meteorologist and the only reason I didn't pursue it after was because I couldn't go back to school locally for it and try to start my civilian life at the same time.
