cuideag Posted December 12, 2014 Share #26 Posted December 12, 2014 Jajara is absolute garbage with weaving. Her family holds onto a long tradition of beautiful tapestries, fabrics, and dyes.. but Jajara just can't handle a needle. She's adequate at the very best, but even that is taxing. Delial has been doing some studies in her spare time but she cannot, for the life of her, understand how to summon anything. Egis are beyond her, and faeries? Assuming she would even suffer having one around, she just does not understand how it works. Link to comment
Ridegmuve Posted December 12, 2014 Share #27 Posted December 12, 2014 Iliette while trying to learn all the skills of homemaking (cooking, cleaning etc..) Is actually rather terrible at it, especially cooking... Don't try Iliette's cooking unless you have a profound deathwish, though that doesn't stop her from offering her cooking to anyone. There is also a running gag with her that her coeurl cooks better then her... Iliette also believes she is the "Best Lancer in All of Eorzea!" (It is a self made title, people tend to snort in her face for it!), however she is mediocre at best at wielding the weapon as it is mostly a self taught skill, her actual strength actually lies with hand-to-hand combat and making improvised weapons on the fly. FreelanceWizard Posted December 15, 2014 Share #28 Posted December 15, 2014 L'yhta continually tries to draw, even though she's laughably bad at it. A gift from her master and his friends was a journal with colored pencils for her to make maps and draw what she sees around her, but outside of arcanima geometries, her art skills could be favorably compared to those of a five year old. In social situations, while she generally thinks she has great and perfect solutions to almost any problem someone might have, her egregious lack of emotional maturity means that her solutions are fair at best. When you combine that with her general inability to read people, her attempts to meddle usually don't fix anything and often blow up in her face. That doesn't stop her from trying, though... There's other things she's not good at (physical combat, homemaking, and such), but she either has workarounds (magic!) or generally doesn't do them (retainers!). Link to comment

Faye Posted December 15, 2014 Share #31 Posted December 15, 2014 Faye can't cook. She's otherwise 100% housewife material, but she can't cook at all, no matter how much she tries and how many cookbooks she browses. ;_; Every meal ends up in flames or just... terrible and not at all appetizing. Aaron Posted December 15, 2014 Share #33 Posted December 15, 2014 I'm sorry but I HAVE TO SHARE THIS HERE This person IC was so bad I cried Aaron Iceblood walks into the house with a light wave and a lazily tired expression as he looked around before spotting an unfamiliar woman in the kitchen apparently burning something. Vexi jumps up panicking as the smoke arose looking around until she spotted Aaron. "I-Oh im so sorry sir! I was just! " she started to panic again shaking her head. Aaron Iceblood looked confused out his mind as he raised a brow walking into the kitchen and with a quick touch of the burning pot froze over it stopping the smoke with a sigh. ". . . . What are you doing here?" He yawns looking her up and down briefly trying to wake himself up. "And what did you burn?" Vexi: I um. . . I burned a pot of water. . Aaron Iceblood fell extremely quiet. He just stood there and stared for about an eternity. Aaron Iceblood:. . . . . . I'm sorry but can I like be your friend? I just laughed so hard I broke down crying and had to walk away from my bed )) Link to comment
Antain Posted December 15, 2014 Share #34 Posted December 15, 2014 Vaughn has many things he tries really hard at, but just isn't good. Overcoming his anxieties, wielding an axe, making lasting friendships, just to name a few. Link to comment
Gegenji Posted December 15, 2014 Share #35 Posted December 15, 2014 There's a ton of things Chachan isn't good at. However, if I had to specify things that he isn't good at and yet he tries anyway... it's probably a toss-up between "being mature" and "laying down the sick burns." Maybe "lying" as well. After all, the fact he's Doman is pretty much not a secret at all at this point, and most folks are skeptical when he says he's 19. The latter is what leads to the whole "failure at acting mature" angle. He has his moments, sure, but with his boundless, childish energy along with his penchant for pouting and getting fussy when things don't go his way... it's hard to consider him as anything other than immature. Also, when he gets into arguments that descend into insults, he totally tries to act like how he saw Ser Crofte did that one time in the Quicksand. He just ends up being really bad at it. Getting flustered when his opponent is more mentally dextrous when it comes to such things doesn't help matters either. Maybe that's why the fights between him and Koporo go so well. They both equalize onto roughly the same maturity level... Link to comment
Salinas Posted December 16, 2014 Share #36 Posted December 16, 2014 Caelia is terrible at flirting. She practices in front of a mirror when she finds the time. Only to get embarrassed seconds later when she throws a pick-up line at herself. I can imagine she tries to an opening to use these lines on Noxaelius but decided against it. ♪( ´θ`)ノ♡ Also, she can't cast offensive spells accurately. You can place a bowl on top of a stump and try to get her to knock it off with stone... But she completely misses. Link to comment
Zetchryn Posted December 17, 2014 Share #37 Posted December 17, 2014 A'zireena is absolutely horrible at dancing in any other way then playful flailing, or the dances you often see the female Miqo'te do. The moment it becomes formal, or involves a partner? She trips, falls, steps on people's toes, gets her tail tangled in odd places, the works. Link to comment
Idristan Agache Posted December 17, 2014 Share #38 Posted December 17, 2014 Adeya can't cook. At all. Doesn't stop her from trying (though it really, really should. Everyone would be safer). Also, all of her attempts to learn conjury so far have failed horribly. She just doesn't get it. I think she could get better if she found someone with a similar mindset to teach her, but as of now... if she tries using it on you, run. Just run. Link to comment
Caspar Posted December 30, 2014 Share #39 Posted December 30, 2014 I haven't been able to get onto Bal yet. ;_; but when I do, my character's flaw is magic aptitude. If you've played shadow hearts, the ps2 rpg series, you might remember that Yuri, the main protagonist, gets a lot of powerful abilities from transforming into various beasties. To balance him with the rest of the party, yuri can't use Creat Magic, and the canon explanation for it is simply that he's too stupid to remember the spells, even though a small child and a *dog* (albeit a very intelligent wolf dog...) in the party are veritable masters already. I was thinking of doing something similar with my character. In her case it's not so much idiocy as an unfortunate inability to think abstract. Like if you told her people can fly with a spell, she'd be too hung up on how impossible it seemed, and get distracted and forget the actual spell in the process. Link to comment
Wild Card Posted February 12, 2015 Share #40 Posted February 12, 2015 Irie is bad bad bad bad at crafting, any kind of it. Trying to teach her even the most basic recipies is like trying to teach an whale to perform a tango. It will result in pain and blood for all participants. Link to comment

Liandri Posted February 13, 2015 Share #44 Posted February 13, 2015 Physical hardiness. No matter how hard she tries, V'lanya can just NEVER take a hit. The last few punches to her sternum caused her to cough up blood, and a few times, in sparring, she's nearly ended up dead. I'd say taking critique is a skill. The Miqo'te is so far up her own backside she can't take critique, and will turn hostile/walk away from anyone attempting to do so. Oooh, self-control, too. That's likely something she just can't do whatsoever. Yeah, that's a big no-no. Though, admittedly, she's getting a LITTLE better. Lasting romantic relations. Something I won't even comment on, she's either extremely unlucky, or a complete dimwit. Link to comment

Hihimi Posted February 13, 2015 Share #46 Posted February 13, 2015 Hihimi has a huge problem with diets--fortunately she exercises enough that her sugary habits don't become an issue. Her real problem is trying to see someone else's point of view if it's radically different from hers, so she chooses to just think of bad guys as bad guys with no redeeming qualities most of the time. It gets harder when more complications are thrown into the mix... "If he's stealing from the rich Limsa Lominsans to give to the starving orphans, is he -really- breaking the code...? Gah! This is making my head hurt! I need assistance over here! And by that I mean someone to help explain that rule in extreme nuance." She also has a problem when people underestimate her for being a Lalafell, while at the same time she thinks it's incredibly rude to not find her adorable. "Ah, the wonders of racism." / "...wait, do you think I'm ugly then?!" Then again, in that last example, there is a comfortable middle ground of "She's adorable but I fear her Power". I still think it'll cause complications in RP though. IC miscommunications, ahoy! Link to comment
Klynzahr Posted February 19, 2015 Share #47 Posted February 19, 2015 Kynzahr is an utterly hopeless gladiator. In fact she is so bad that she actually makes her living from being a looser. Most of the big name gamblers in Ul'dah know full well that no novice spectator can resist betting on a towering, muscle laden sea wolf, particularly when she steps into the arena wielding an ax the size of her competitor. What the novices don't know is that Klynzahr is blind as a bat without her spectacles, plagued by nerves in the ring, and too timid to fight on the offensive. So when her sponsors arrange a fight between Klyn and some unknown but feisty lalafell, it is certain to land her in the healer's room and net them a tidy sum of winnings. It is such a sure thing that they continue to sponsor her simply to take advantage of her lack of skill. Basically she gets paid to loose. The authorities have questioned this arrangement once or twice but after watching her train for several weeks it was concluded that Klyn was not loosing on purpose. She's just terrible. Kurt S. Posted February 19, 2015 Share #49 Posted February 19, 2015 Kurt and the arcanima....yeah that's not going to end well so he just tries to derive the equations, solutions, theories and laws and then try to apply it elsewhere. Which is the basis for his second job that will hit stores I don't know when. He's going to be all about them machines and guns and machineguns. He's got shit aether but he's still trying to do the complicated and taxing method of summoning a carby...an emerald carby. (Speaking of, is there a primer I can read up about on Garlean Tech, specifically weapons tech. I kinda wanna see if I can't base it off there and go with the excuse of picking up Eng'g handbooks and operations manuals carried around by Garlean Eng'grs he has to kill or has killed. Because Garlean Tech > Eorzean Tech...I think.) /sounsyysignal) Ramona and weaving are two things that should not be put in the same room together...ever. She doesn't have the patience or the control to weave the thread and is just likely going to quad flare it to hell. Still she throws herself at weaving because deep down she wants to make clothes that'll make her look pretty. Keil and well fighting. He was born the weakest and cleverest of three brothers and has only ever scraped by using his spear and poking weakspots he's read about. In an actual fight, he's got a very microscopic chance of actually besting anyone. But that doesn't stop him from going back and trying to pick up some distinct fighting style that utilizes the lance if not poles, ala wu shu. Link to comment
Coatleque Posted February 19, 2015 Share #50 Posted February 19, 2015 Crofte cannot lead. The irony being that everyone expects her to. She has no backbone, rarely gets emotional in public, and has trouble raising her voice to anyone else. She's stood in the middle of the street while an initiate lambasted her up and down and just shrugged it off. People ask her for help but then always fight her on how she chooses to respond. It's always them convincing her to bend, never her persuading them. One of her attempts to inspire the troops amounted to one of the longest unintentional innuendos of Ul'dah history. In short, anyone who expects her to take charge and make crucial decisions is going to have a bad time. Link to comment
