She didn't notice him at first. Not until she was too close to avoid the imminent collision, which luckily didn't send him down to the ground. With wide open eyes, the girl raised her head to look at the male she'd just crashed against, finding a familiar face she hadn't seen in a while. "X-Xydane..." She managed to say with something akin disbelief, still breathless from all the running and her own fear. Finding him in the forest, at that precise moment... it was odd, almost as if Xydane wasn't a real being but a part of her imagination. Had it been a tree she crashed against? No; he was warm... "Xydane!" Desperate as he'd never seen her, Clover placed both hands on the boy's shoulders, trying to get his full attention. "The Ixal attacked the carriage! One of them is following me!" She warned him, summarizing the best she could, for time was a luxury they didn't have. In fact, the Ixal scout wasted no time in making its apparition, all claws and eyes injected in blood. It came to a halt as soon as the figure of another hyur was caught in his field of vision, adopting a defensive stance.

Aah, I was very excited when I read this. However, if it'll be in NA timezone, then I won't be able to participate. Oh well, it still sounds like a lot of fun, I'm sure everyone will have a nice time ;w;

Anything that makes me feel like I'm in Gridania is worth the money. Not like I'll ever be able to visit it; too poor to even travel to Japan *sweatdrops*.

The Twin Adders were tired of losing non stop. Then, they turned into beasts who dominated the battlefield. (And then they were back to losing again).

I don't tend to age any of my characters. Clover was 18 at launch, and she still is ^^; She's not following the main story anyway. K'mih is still the same as well, 16. And considering she's been in the same scene for a few months, I can't take 1 real life year as 1 year in game.
-
Thank you for the replies! I'm a bit more hopeful now. Now to figure out how to buy game cards.
-
Wait wait, so you can recruit someone who already bought the game but didn't actually resub when their 30 days trial expired? Or do you have to buy a brand new game + resub? I need to know! I know people who played the game some months ago but never got to resub, so if I could simply use them without having to buy the game as well, it'd be great (>_<)

K'rahto took the huntress' reaction as the usual paranoia she tended to display when it came to her little sister. K'nahli had always been overprotective with that girl, that much had to be obvious to any member from the tribe. Strong as the temptation of making her uneasiness last longer was, the Tia didn't forget that his own sister was inside the tent, doing her best to treat everyone's wounds. The last thing K'zhumi needed was another useless interruption, so he decided to simply give K'nahli a honest answer. "She's not injured," he said, arms crossed like the antisocial being he was. "She just wanted to help K'zhumi."

I do think most of them will have been obtained through fake accounts. But what other choice do we have? ;_; It was a low move from SE. A low and very smart move. Oh well, I'll try to resist. On a side note, I must have missed the news that relate double mounts to marriage. So the alternative is that they're supposed to be used just by people who get their characters married? O_O I hope that's not the case.
-
That's what I'm fearing too. Otherwise, I don't knooooow... I might be too weak to resist the temptation of paying for a fake account...
-
Seeing a pink haired Clover on the double mount makes me extra happy and excited about it *laughs*. It's really unfair, though, since I already convinced all my friends to play FFXIV way before this system was implemented (=_=; So now I'll be unable to get the double mount... ...Unless I make a second account myself, but how expensive would that be? *sweatdrops*.

Forced against the ground, Clover did her best to hold her breath, to remain as motionless as possible. It was a difficult moment for many reasons. The most crucial was, without a doubt, the risk of being found by the Ixal. Were that to happen, it'd be unlikely for them to survive or avoid being taken as prisoners. Andre wasn't armed, and Clover's Conjury wouldn't be enough. When one of them started moving in their direction, Clover frowned and quickly covered her mouth with a hand. Her breathing was struggling to come out, the need growing as the distance with the enemy diminished. If there was any bit of hope left in her mind, it disappeared as soon as Andre started speaking. He forced her to look at him, to listen to a voice she could barely recognize, closer than he’d ever been. It felt like the end, somehow. "A-Andre..." she breathed, noticing, as if she was a ghost again, that the voice coming from her throat had trembled. Ah, fear could be strangely paralyzing, she thought afterwards. But his words sounded like sacrifice, and it was hard accepting the idea that this might be the last time she'd see him. "Andre, you s--" Clover could never finish her sentence. The boy pushed her away before she could, and then there was no turning back. Her breathing and heartbeats became loud again as she did her best to stand on her feet, almost tripping in her attempt. Her knees felt weak at first, but the girl still managed to start running through the trees. Behind her, the roaring of a beast; beyond her, a familiar small figure guiding her steps, so that she'd only have to focus on running. In her mind, the words she still wanted to say echoed. 'Andre, you should run with me.'

Cinnamon loves you too, even if he doesn't know any of you ;_; (Sorry, Clover's chocobo is serious business for me).

The familiar figure of the huntress K'nahli appeared in the Tia's field of vision. Easy to spot, impossible to ignore. She'd seen him too; oh, she did, with the expected scorn and superiority. But she wouldn't allow herself to stare at him for too long, of course not. As K'nahli continued her path as if she'd seen nothing of interest, the Tia's eyes covertly followed her trajectory. It was then that she came to a halt. So she had something to say after all. K'rahto stared at her with an unfriendly, almost defensive expression, expecting nothing good to come out of those lips. Smart boy. When she spoke, it was nothing short of a provocation. "........" His scowl deepened, eyes narrowing dangerously. His words weren't a new declaration of war, however. Only his tone half was. "...He's inside with your sister."

As K'mih attempted to clean her father's burns, the conversation between him and the returned miqo'te became heated. She took a few seconds to stare at K'yohko's expression, her lips slightly parted and her eyes almost unable to blink. The Nunh was displaying an aggressive self, possessed by many worries he couldn't hide; a side she hadn't had much of an opportunity to witness. It was worrisome, even scary. Her stoic father being like this could only be an indication that things were truly wrong. However, there was also something oddly fascinating to it, like a rare sight you just couldn't take your eyes away from, even knowing how dangerous it was. K'mih's trance ended when K'yohko groaned and leaned in slightly towards her, as if the loss of blood was starting to seriously drain his energies. His own anger had contributed to that, and K'mih, being the ignorant girl she always was, hadn't realized it. "Father..." was an involuntary whisper, barely audible.The hand that wasn't holding the cloth moved to his chest, an attempt to support him and prevent him from losing his balance. K'zhumi's stern voice was heard then. It was directed at everyone, and this included K'mih, who apparently had been rubbing the cloth in the wrong way. A clumsy mistake that could have consequences more severe than what the girl had imagined. "I-I'm sorry!" She replied quickly and nervously, scared at the mention of her father dying. The Nunh had always been the strongest miqo'te; even after seeing him injured, the possibility of him being completely defeated by his wounds had barely crossed K'mih's mind. Now, as she looked at his pale form, his weakness started becoming more apparent. With damp eyes that looked like an apology, she rubbed the cloth harder against his skin. Harder, even if it hurt, even if she had to shut her eyelids close. She was ready to apply the salve next.

Tiergan's Thread of Shameless Self-Promotion [No Commissions. Apologies.]
Clover replied to Tiergan's topic in Artisan House
@______@ *Needs to fangirl* Waaaaaa... that's such a wonderful portrait of Xydane! I really love the way you drew him, he looks like a FF hero (bishounen). Very good and professional job! -
"A-alright!" She replied, with a mix of hesitation and determination. It'd be the very first time she'd tend to anyone's injuries, and the fact they were her father's made her extra nervous. Perhaps it wouldn't be too difficult, she thought in an attempt to relax. The girl sat beside her father, trying to control her own breathing the best she could, and took a look at his arm. K'zhumi had told her that she had to clean the wounds first, so K'mih started by soaking the piece of cloth in the water. Then, as careful as she could, she placed it on the man's injured arm. Too soft; she was being too soft, but she was completely unsure of how to do it right without causing much pain to her father. Her eyes traveled to his for a moment, searching for either pain or approval. Not like she expected her father to pay any sort of attention to her or his arm at that moment. There were many things in his mind, many things around them that day. There wasn't much K'mih could do to relieve all those weights from his shoulders. [...] Outside the tent, minutes kept passing in silence for K'rahto Tia. Well, not really in silence, as there was a heated argument not too far from his position, impossible to ignore. His annoyed gaze turned slightly to the side, to the distant figures of K'ile and that new girl whose name he didn't care to remember. Just what the hell was their problem? Didn't they have better things to do than bother everyone with their bickering? Something happened then, an occurrence that made the Tia's eyes open wide. The new girl gave up on words and proceeded to shamelessly beat K'ile, effectively making him fall into the ground. "What the..." That fierceness, that lack of control was suddenly engraved in his retinas. Seeing another Tia humilliated by a stranger wasn't K'rahto's favourite sight, as he couldn't help but imagine himself in the same situation. His eyes narrowed and his teeth showed slightly, fists clenched. His gaze glued itself to her form, even when his sister appeared to push that girl away from K'ile. (Damn huntress... ...)

Having warned every single huntress she could find, K'mih could no longer cast her own concern aside. Her heart was still beating fast when she rushed to the healer's tent. The Nunh seemed to have agreed to her request to pay a visit to the healer, so she was hoping to find him there. Just like the previous time, K'rahto was still guarding the entrance. Perhaps she could get an answer without the need of intruding while K'zhumi was doing her job. "K'rahto... is my father inside?" "Yes..." The Tia looked serious. He always did, but there was something a bit different this time. He looked more focused. More concerned, perhaps. At their feet, a trail of blood seemed to disappear behind the tent. K'mih's eyes met the Tia's then, her expression fragile. It was the face of a girl who was doing her best to be strong, but who ultimately looked like a weak, almost trembling animal. "M-may I take a look inside? I could... lend a hand to your sister..." K'rahto stared at her with his usual piercing eyes, silent for a tortuous moment. Finally, he stepped aside. "Ask her..." he said, frugal as always. The girl wasted no time to shift the cloth at the entrance and timidly stick her head in. It was dark, but she could still make their figures out. "K'zhumi..." the shy miqo'te called her, barely raising her voice. "I-I was wondering if you needed help..." It wasn't really for K'zhumi, nor was it for the new healer. Hadn't her father been involded, K'mih wouldn't have been so brave as to interrumpt them. But now her heart felt heavy and her thoughts wouldn't leave her alone; she wanted to be by his side. Just that, just by his side.

((OOC: I'm very sorry for being slow (=A=) I'm still on a trip, but I'll try to find more time to tag.)) She couldn't fall asleep now. She couldn't forget where she was. Andre was trying to be strong for the two of them, she could tell that much from the look in his eyes, the sound of his voice. No matter how inexperienced she was or how extreme this situation might be, she needed to ease his burden the best she could. Despite the fear in her eyes, Clover remained silent and calm, receptive to his words and actions. She'd look at him when he sought her eyes, and nod when he spoke. The warmth of a whispering voice in her ear was a very strange sensation, almost uncomfortable. Or perhaps it was the situation itself, making her more tense than what was safe. "Get ready," he said, and Clover's treacherous heart only raised its pace. She didn't see the Ixal, no. She saw her parents in the battlefield, looking at the giant that wanted to crush them. They must have been very brave back then, even if it was the last thing they did. She could be like them now. She could run where Andre told her, push her luck and see how the next page from this book would unfold. "...Now... hurry!" At the signal, there was nothing Clover heard that wasn't her own breathing. The world seemed to stop at that moment. She just knew she had started running as fast as her legs allowed her, not looking back. It was an easy task, wasn't it? Running from A to B. From A to B. Beyond her, the cat she'd been following looked at her from the goal, waiting for her there. Green eyes opened wider then, and Clover felt she wasn't simply running to B. She was running to safety.

Ah, I understand what you mean. I don't think it's influence from the media but from human nature, as many people seem to seek and force romance irl as well, from what I've observed. But yes, depending on how it's played, it can be interesting to some people or another. I just think it's a crashing of opinions, as some people might enjoy epic plots and others might find them boring. I myself favour the kind of romance that's either integrated in a plot or that serves as a driving force for things to actually happen to a character. I'm not playing romance in FFXIV so far, but I do have romantic elements in my current Blade&Soul RP, and they're key factors to my characters' plots (my main character for falling in love with her enemy in the middle of a war that's only going to scalate, and my secondary for being unhealthily obsessed with her brother, which will likely end with her being severely punished or execued). I don't tend to play romance for the sake of it, and (so far) my characters can fall in love but they never really got to be involved in real and steady relationships. Who knows when that might change! In any case, I don't mind what other people do with their romance plots, so long as there's diversity (it can be frustrating otherwise). So long as everyone's playing their favourite kind of story, I think it's all good ^^

Aah, thank you very much *bows bows*. Reading that makes me very happy ;_; I'm also glad to know that midlanders are appreciated, haha. I love both miqo'tes and midlanders, but perhaps my heart has a softer spot for the latter. However, if quality is what we're talking about... Delacroux's screens are always very beautiful. They never fail to catch my attention. I must admit Crisiet never fails to catch my attention either *laughs*. I love your screens!

Adders 4 lyfe! I am indeed. I was invited to a LS yesterday called "Mad Adders". The LS is dedicated to Twin Adders for Frontlines on Balmung it seems. If you want to join, Clover, I can ask them to invite you, and anyone else interested. Unless, you and K'nahli already joined an EU one? If we ever end up in a Frontline Party together, I would watch your back..... And likely die with you. :lol: Ah, we joined one called "Adders! To Arms!" (if I remember well). It's not exactly an EU one, but it was created by an EU player. A very good leader if I may add. The first day we partied with her, the Adders kept winning non stop. Sadly, lately it's been difficult to find matches with people who actually listen. I hope both LSs can join forces, somehow. The more, the merrier! Haha, it's better to die knowing that someone out there actually cared ;_;

I'm late too, but I wanted to contribute a bit of my own. I've seen people complain about those who play romance. Well, love is a powerful driving factor that effectively move characters in any direction, so I wouldn't diminish its importance in a story. A different matter is when you don't like how it's played, of course (I myself don't get my characters involved in easy and fast relationships), but that doesn't mean that playing romance in general is a bad thing. Finding someone to connect with is and will always be a very important point in anyone's life, and this includes characters. As for stalkers and forced romance, well, no one likes that *sweatdrops*. I myself have also been receiving whispers from someone who is being too flirty for my tastes, and who breaks the IC and OOC line easily. It's going to happen in every game, I guess.

Is that Xydane...? No stabbing please. *Stoneskins him*
