More than ever, we should ask SE for an RP server... We RPers can't play in any other random server. We're a whole community that must be united, so getting our servers closed isn't something we can simply live with.

My day has been so bad that I'm in a calm state about everything now *laughs*. I'll play some Mabinogi:Heroes for a bit ^^

It’s amazing how the body reacts when danger is a reality. Being a small Miqo’te, K’mih was faster than the worm even with an axe in hand. She managed to make use of that advantage, her only one; after dodging one of the monster’s impacts against the ground, her axe did its job against its skin, breaking through the thickness and tearing it apart almost accidentally. She was unsure of what happened next, or how many hits the sand worm had to take before falling. It was like waking up from a strange possession, like falling asleep to nightmares. When the young Miqo’te realized, she was half covered in blood, panting as her lungs struggled for air. Unblinking, wide eyes glued themselves to the monster, noticing it was still alive. It breathed with difficulty, drowning in a painful pool of blood, yet still alive. Such was the condemn K’mih had inflicted upon it. No matter how hard she’d tried, she’d been unable to properly kill her prey. Her work of art was nothing but a mess; an excruciating, obscene mess. A scream came out from the depths of her throat as she desperately raised her axe again. She stabbed the monster once, twice, again and again, until it stopped breathing. After that, there was nothing. Nothing but scarlet under her feet, bitter tears from shut eyes, and small sobs. She’d passed the test. It was a happy day for a Miqo’te.

I can't play until I'm back home (T__T) Have fun, everyone!

My main character is expected to move from Limsa Lominsa to Gridania (where she was born) early during her story, so my RP will focus on Gridania ^^ Perhaps our characters will see each other around!

Procedures during Periods of High Congestion
Clover replied to Levi Druthers's topic in FFXIV Discussion
This so much. I'm very worried about my poor alt and I wanted to play her during early access. If only I hadn't had to remake her back in P4, she'd be alive by now ;_; -
I'm unsure, as my main character's story is stuck since my partner is elsewhere... (¬o¬) I guess I will start RPing my Miqo'te if Balmung allows me to create her there, but I don't know when and if I'll find RP during the first days. I think I'll also be focusing on enjoying the game itself.

((K’mih’s adulthood trial. Happens a few days after this scene http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=3295 )) For a long moment, all K’mih could hear was her own breathing, louder than it should be, and an inconvenient beep in her head. The enormous worm moved slowly through the sands of the desert, still unaware of the candidate for predator that watched it behind the trees. At a certain distance, also unseen, the huntress observed K’mih’s performance in her adulthood trial. It was alright, so she told herself. She had her sister K’nahli’s token of luck tied up to one of her arms; her other hand held the special arrow Kiht had given her. She couldn’t fail, not after their gifts—not after their trust. Slowly, she started tensing the bow. It was oddly hot that day, why were her arms shaking? “I-I can’t…” Lowering the bow, the young Miqo’te grabbed her own arm, as if trying to stop the shaking. She needed to relax, she just had to breathe. Inhale, exhale, repeat. Inhale, exhale, bow raising slowly once more, inhale, exhale. Gaze focused, heart pounding. The image of K’nahli’s back with her bow tensed, precise and perfect, was drawn in her mind again. She just had to do the same, she just had to… The first arrow cut through the air in a matter of miliseconds, and that was all it took to perforate the wild creature’s thick skin. But K’mih wasn’t her sister, and there was no precision in her still shaking arms. Her first shot hadn’t killed her prey; it’d only served to enrage it. “…!!” The girl's eyes opened wide when the sand worm emitted a horrifying sound, turning all its attention to the culprit who’d dared to hurt it. She wanted to run, but a strong voice reminded her that if she started doing that now, she’d have to keep running until she was far from home. Failure wasn’t an option. There was no time for a second arrow. The monster was over her with a bang, all teeth and drool and death, and all the little Miqo’te could do was dodge the impact of its head against the sand. Her next step was to quickly grab her axe as her vision became blurry. This was no longer an adulthood trial. This was no longer about gaining her right to stay at home. All she wanted now was to live.

SFSGDFGDHGH Server opens at around 11am my time, but fate forces me to be away for the whole morning tomorrow (=A=) Oh well, I don't care, it'll be a happy day! Now I only hope that Balmung will be open.

You have a very nice and detailed style, good job!

“I might not see them again, will I?” Clover was sitting on one of the chairs inside her grandfather’s shop, knees up to her face and gaze down to the floor, together with her mood. Such was reflected on her calm voice. The magic shop was almost as she remembered it, a magical place where she’d always felt safe, but it was also different that night. Different, like everything else. “That hasn’t been decided yet, Clover. There is no such thing as fate,” her grandpa replied, walking towards her with some tea he’d just prepared. She only raised her head to take the cup with both hands and a barely audible “thank you”. The man smiled, as he always did. Even if the shadow of war had also been reflected over his features, he was still something familiar, the only thing that didn’t feel completely strange that night. Especially when he spoke. “You might see them again, you might not, but none of them will disappear in either case.” He pointed at his own head with his free hand. “We have our memories, a lot of stories we can revive anytime. They might be the only thing that will always come with us wherever we go, Clover.” He walked to the table, where he placed his own cup of tea. “Speaking of stories…” the man continued as he sat down and made himself comfortable. Clover’s gaze turned to him. “Let’s be elsewhere tonight, shall we? Would you like to hear one?” The girl nodded, unblinking eyes glued to her beloved grandpa and tea forgotten between her hands. Her mind was already drifting away when the old man’s voice lighted up the room once more, like many other times. “A long, long time ago…”

There was a strange scent in the air that afternoon. Sometimes suffocating, sometimes chilling. Not the air Clover used to breathe, and not the town she used to live in. Her parents were also strange, different. It was like a tale gone wrong, a story she was merely listening to. Not her own story. There she was, at the entrance of a town that, oddly, didn’t feel like home that day. Her parents stood in front of her, looking at her with sorrowful eyes. That afternoon, Clover would have to leave Gridania in a caravan who headed to Limsa Lominsa, where her grandfather lived. She’d stay with him until the war was over. Or until Eorzea fell. “You understand, don’t you, Clover?” A teary woman kneeled down before her 13 years old daughter, looking straight into her green orbs. Her voice was pained-- this was a goodbye, and even if hope should always remain, fear would as well. “Eorzea depends on everyone now, on us. Your father and I must fight for your and everyone’s future. If we don’t, there’ll be none... You understand, don’t you?” It wasn’t just the anguish of not seeing her daughter ever again, or the distress of making her travel to Limsa Lominsa without the presence of her parents. There was also the fear of how Clover would feel, for this was the very first time they’d be separated. Above everything, her mother wanted her to be alright. However, as she kept talking and staring into her daughter’s eyes, her own expression froze when she realized that tears wouldn't fall down the girl's cheeks. Clover’s gaze didn’t mirror her own, nor her father’s. There was collected resignation, perhaps even a tint of melancholy swimming in a pool of emptiness, but he wasn’t crying. “I understand, mother,” was the girl’s soft reply. Her mother stared at her for long seconds, expression unreadable, before she stood up to give her daughter a last hug. There was a strange scent in the air that night, one Clover hadn’t known before. One that, for good or for bad, might eventually become familiar.

Once upon a time, there was a girl who lived in a world of tales. Tale after tale, she lived to learn, and through them, she learned to live. She recognized the blue colour of the sky so long as it would last; green grass, red fruits, yellow chocobos. What was seen, what was hidden, what was said, what remained silent. She heard the laughter and saw the tears, and became fascinated by a world full of memories. Even by those which didn’t belong to her. Somewhere along the way, her own tale started.

I personally wouldn't have much of a problem if someone described their weapon as an unusual one. Other than my fish memory, I mean, but that can be fixed by a mere reminder. I think it's interesting to see what people come up with, and using an unusual weapon is not exactly lore breaking. So long as the player has fun and everyone gets to RP, why not? ^^ Just my two cents!
-
YES. And this time, the game will stay with us forever. This is the end of all the suffering we've endured!! I can't believe that I'll be able to play it as much as I want from now on. (As for your question, I don't know because I'm not a legacy player. I just wanted to share my joy, I'm sorry ;_; )
-
If there's a character I ran into a lot during P4, that was Ashren. Random edited image.
-
I say, why not? If your character wants to use a certain weapon, nothing is stopping them RP-wise ^^ Game systems will always be limited, but RP shouldn't.

I am interested in structured military RP-- in fact, I've been wondering if there was such a group out there. However, I don't think my main character would join any neutral group for the sake of it. She might learn how to use a sword and join the Eorzean army, or any army that fights the Garleans. I guess that's not quite what you have in mind?

Thank you very much for your kind comments! I'm very happy that you don't dislike my art (>///<)

Is there any such thing as "too much" when it comes to a back story?
Clover replied to Moondoggie's topic in RP Discussion
It depends on the person. I personally don't tend to give my main characters huge backstories, for "discovery" is a key word for me. I've often seen RPers whose characters had already gone through everything they could even experience in life in their back stories, so the players got bored quickly (or much sooner than I did) when the real RP started. There are also people who can make that work for interesting plots, however, so it always depends on your playstyle and what you're looking for. I enjoy finding many kinds of characters when I RP. -
Haha, thank you very much! Sadly, I don't know how to pronounce half of what I'm writing. In any case, wouldn't it be cool to organize any sort of mini event over Skype before the game opens? I mean a multi-chat for several people. It'd be a good way to get to know other characters beforehand, especially for future plots. The downside is that you can't really see the characters you're RPing with, but I guess that posting screens would suffice.
-
I'd love to RP over Skype, but I haven't had the chance to do it with any member from this community (>_<) (I've voice RPed before, but it was in a Spanish community. It's a pity that I can't speak English, otherwise I'd be so up for it *laughs*).
-
In case it hasn't been said before, Eorzean Union also has a Skype chat ^^

I've been very confused, since my preorder confirmation e-mail didn't come with any code either, and neither have I received any new e-mail from them. I'm relieved to see I'm not the only one, so I guess this is a normal procedure. I need to be patient... *Bites nails*.

Ah, I only draw anime style *nods*. I don't know any other artist who uses that nick, but perhaps there are more.
