Some say Madda is a void potato. Madda was just cursed to always say Madda instead of the "bad words."

Hrm. The thing that stands out to me is the age -- if she was still in Ala Mhigo before the fall at age 20, then currently she'd be at least 40 years old, since the Garleans took the city-state 20 years ago. Yvonne sounds very much like an Elezen name to me too, but names are always something we can make work! Good luck with the Highlander and have funnn! HYUR MASTER RACE HIGHLANDER BEST CLAN Does it? Madda's not very good with Highlander names :[ Thanks for the reply! Highlanders, Bestlanders Yeah, it was more to go along with why she wanted to be a warrior at such a young age. She just believed her parents didn't love her and abandoned her because she was too weak for them. But the idea is interesting! Madda likes it very much. =3 But how old would this make her then? Since Madda's no good with timelines yet x nx (forum formatting ish bad.)

Es Madda! Madda was making a Highlander person and needed some help / critique on her bio and stuffs. She was an orphan while growing up in Al Mihgo, wanting to be strong so that she could be liked and loved in hope that she would meet her parents. One fighter found her swinging a wooden sword and dragged her off after learning she wanted to become a warrior. He trained and became a parent to her until she realized, around age 20, that fighting was not for her. She abandoned her training and opened a free house near the entrance of Al Mihgo, a haven for those without a home or food. It became popular among many children, with some drifters stopping by to stay the night. The woman herself spent many days tending to chores and such, viewing each newcomer as one of her own. After the fall of the Highlander's home, the house became engulfed in flames in the attack of the Garlanians. The end result is Yvonne being pulled from the reckage, while most of those inside (about 90% or so) perished. Driven to punish those responsible for the destruction of her homeland and "children", she returned to her training, wanting the strength she so wished to possess when she was a child. https://wiki.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/pages/Yvonne_Firepeak

A character idea Madda was going to do after Heavensward dropped. Character Info Name: K'umiko Title: Tiny Terror of Limsa Bio: "Tha' yung'un is the devil, I tell ya! I sent three patrols 'round where she makes 'er rounds at. They all come back, one reekin' like chocobo shite, one lookin' like they been struck by lightnin', and th' other sportin' burns!'" -- Anonymous Yellowjacket As of late, reports have grown in the Limsa area of a young miqo'te child stealing goods, mainly food within Limsa herself. While not sounding immediately dangerous, the child is armed and dangerous, usually sporting various contraptions of sorts, illegal fireworks, and what seems to be a single unique pistol in which these fireworks are shot from. The child is wanted for several crimes within the Limsa community, most notably being theft, evading authority, firing upon an officer, and many more. There are reports of the menace coming to the aid of Yellowjackets however, assisting them in apprehending criminals. Many caught have no information about her, and are rather surprised such a young face could brandish so much firepower. A few did manage to produce a name, "K'umiko", she goes by. They further report her antics crashing any criminal activity near her hideout, vowing to get even with the child should the chance arrived. Although still wanted for further questioning, the tiny terror of Limsa has caught Limsa by storm. Whether this "K'umiko" is here to help us, or pillage us, the public remains quite debated over her presence. Role: Mage Secondary Role: Assassin Other Skins: Yellowjacket K'umiko - K'umiko becomes dressed in the garb of a yellowjacket. Special Agent K'umiko - K'umiko dresses in a suit and tie, gaining a pair of shades. her gun now becomes a silver colored alien ray gun. All fire works are replaced with lazers, and her abilities get an "out of this world" feel to them. Is a nod to "Men in Black" Abilities Passive: Master Tinkerer's Reign Passive: With each point put into her ultimate ability, K'umiko is granted the chance to enhance one of her abilities. Max 3 enhancements. K'umiko is also granted additional ability power for each kill and assist. Max 6 stacks. Lose half stacks upon death. Ability #1: Boom Boom, Pow! Active: K'umiko fires a firework towards the enemy. K'umiko may active this ability again to detonate the firework, dealing damage around its target. If the firework reaches its destination without detonating, it deals damage twice. Enhancement: Limsa Night Lights: Adds a blind effect to the firework's damage. Ability #2: Rocket Jump! Active: K'umiko aims her weapon before firing a huge firework at the ground, propelling her forward towards the selected destination. Upon landing, deals damage to enemies near her. Enhancement: Aerial Surprise! Upon landing on an enemy, K'umiko deals the full landing damage as well as slowing the enemy while jumping the maximum distance again. Ability #3: Whirl-E, Help! Passive: K'umiko's aerial support construct, Whirl-E, follows her, assisting in attacking enemies for a small percentage of her total damage. This also provides a slight increase in visibility around her. Active: Kumiko jumps on Whirl-E, granting her increased movement speed and the ability to hover over AoE spells while suffering no negative drawbacks. Using this places the Passive on a cooldown. Enhancement: Twirl-E Whirl-E: Increases the movement speed of the active, and also allows her to send Whirl-E crashing into enemies, dealing damage and pushing them back. Ability #4 (Ultimate): Ultra Ifrit Titan Firework Finale! K'umiko unleashes her greatest creation, the Ultra Ifrit-Titan Firework upon her enemies. After activating the ability, K'umiko may begin to charge up the ability. Charging this ability increases the damage dealt. While charging, she may change the direction of her aim, though at an extremely slower pace. Enhancement: Illegal Fireworks: K'umiko adds even more illegal modifications to her fireworks, turning it into the Mega Ultra Ifrit-Titan Firework! After the firework hits an enemy, several small cherry bombs will be dropped near the impact zone. In addition, K'umiko's basic attacks will now have a DoT effect on the enemy. Quotes Game Start: "It's showtime!~" Moving: "I think it was this way." Moving: "Stop clicking so much." Attacking: "Pew! Pew!" Taunt: "*salutes before holding up an "L" on her forehead in front of the enemy*" Taunt (Yellowjacket): "What seems to be the problem, officer?" Kill: "That was easy." Kill: "See ya later!" Domination: "Stay in base. It'll be easier that way." Domination: "Can't KO the K'umiko!" Near Death: "Ow! Ow! Ow!" Near Death: "I'm gunna get going now. Hope it works out for you guys!" Death: "Nobody told me this would hurt..." Death: "I planned this! I swear!" Respawn: "Go K'umiko! Raaaah! Rahhh! Best miqo'te in Eorzea! Raaah! Raaah!" Respawn: "I told you I'd get away with it."

Overdone topic, but Madda likes for creative juices to flow. For those not aware, MOBAs (Massive Online Battle Arena) are types of games where players battle against each other in various arena. The most common is the 5v5 map with 3 lanes leading from one base to the other, with 3 towers along each lane. Each character plays a different role, such as Support, Tank, Assassin, Fighter, and Marksman. Players have 4 abilities (commonly bound to the QWER keys), 3 normal ones, and then an "Ultimate" ability that gives your character an edge on the battlefield. Character Info Name: (Your character's namename) Title: (Title, whether self proclaimed or given) Bio: (Summarize it. Please don't make it long) Role: (What your character's abilities or "kit" focuses on. Supports generally have abilities to help their team mates.) Secondary Role: (A secondary function your character focuses on) Other Skins: (Alternate skins your character may have. Essentially a different look. Describe it here. Optional.) Abilities Passive: Ability #1: Ability #2: Ability #3: Ability #4 (Ultimate): Quotes Game Start: Taunt: Death: Feel free to expand upon the template. Does your character have special intractions with another? Specific conditions with how an enemy is killed? Go for it!

not to mention it's got that annoying auto save that saves EVERY TIME YOU CHANGE A LEVEL :frustrated: if there's a way to turn this "feature" off, someone pls tell me, i hates it so much T^T As far as Madda knows, there's no way to turn the auto save off. the save locks in the field are there in case there's something you want to get to quickly. This also makes the save block in Decalburg incredibly pointless. i just find it highly annoying....that combined with the "hey you must be overweight because you're playing a game....why not put it down for a bit and go stand under that bright thingie in the sky outside? 8D" after like 15 minutes* of gametime >.> *exaggeration of warning time highly probable but still frustrating Madda finds it more likely to be one of those games where it saves constantly in case something happens and creates an error, such as a game crash. That way it can quickly get the player back in the game after its resolved. But games that pester you about taking a break are annoying, even if they're intended for the younger audience. Nintendo from the 90s would laugh in your face if you needed a break.

Sorry for the necro, but Madda was interested in trying out for a Sultansworn if the group is still going on.

Madda can't not mention the Mario RPGs. Super Mario RPG was probably the first Madda played when Madda had a SNES during 2010. It actually had a surprising amount of depth for a simple Mario RPG. It also was the first time Madda ever played an RPG and had actual input on how an attack could hit harder instead of wishing for it to crit (see Geno Whirl) Then the Paper Mario series (which is rumored to be a successor to Super Mario RPG) followed that formula somewhat while also having an interesting style of its own. Paper Mario: Sticker Star is probably the most hated of them for Madda. The idea of grinding in RPGs isn't common, but not when Madda has to grind coins to buy stickers to get more stickers to fight a boss so Madda can advance to the next level. (There are 1-1 style level from Mario Bros, which is kinda iffy) Madda's absolute favorite is the Mario & Luigi games. While not true to the RPG genre, they're incredibly fun and entertaining to play through. It does have much of the same "Mario-isms" that the series is known for, but they expand it to have unique new characters and enemies. Some people may not like the stylus controls, but they're incredibly fun, and deserve a playthrough at least.

Nope. Nothing.
-
Hopefully it gets a resolved soon. But knowing the branch of SE that runs XIV, we have a better chance at them producing a decent FF console game.
-
Mhm. Madda's uninstalled / reinstalled / mucked about in the patch files / etc. The patcher is refusing to cooperate.

Anyone else get this error? Madda can't get past this.

Madda is very sure the last game that the Law and Order people played was Super Mario Bros, and they got it taken away because it was too violent.

Character Name or Alias: T'yaka Character Age: 10 Favorite or Preferred Flower: Lily Something Your Character Wants (IC item, and that might be well known): Stuffed Moogle Something Your Character Is Known For (Within the community around them): T'yaka is known around Limsa for her antics, which are the usual defacing of public walls and property in her artwork, pestering various guards and adventurers to make friends, stealing from the food vendors, and evading the guards by use of agility and "chemical weaponry" (stink and smoke bombs). Attitude Most Seen In Public (Just one word or two!): Causing trouble

It's good for a first time sketch! Madda suggest looking at some tutorial around the web, like on DeviantArt or such, as they'll help you with "thinning" out the sections of your character.

Madda's healer character is mute to a point. She can talk, but only in the tone of a whisper. It was a genetic problem that had always been present in a few members of her family, though she was adopted by a caring Hyur couple who were unable to have a child. She normally remains quiet and uses signals with her hands to convey messages, such as holding her hands into a heart shape for "love" or "heart". But only to those she trusts or feels safe with. It helps tremendously for any character with a disability to do research for it in real life. It helps you get a better understanding at what people afflicted have to go through every day, and is an eye opening experience. DO things helps you get a better sense of connection with your character. As said on this thread, don't make your character mute just because you want to be special. Let them be a quirk. Your character, at the end of the day, is your character. A concept that has found a life of its own among other ideas. If anybody wants RP, hit Fated Sky, or Mirielda Cartwright up!
-
Combining a few character ideas with Fated to make her seem more fit for a Dark Knight. Basically, she would be older, and run an orphanage somewhere before it got burnt and she went to the dark side. Machinist is what Madda's been waiting for! Madda loves Madda some machinery.
-
Disregard new race. Acquire Dark Knight and Mechanist. ( goes to be the first one to make a stereotype child mechanic )

The Vent Tent - Poor PuGs and Other Terrible Tales
Madda replied to Gegenji's topic in FFXIV Discussion
What's the Madda? Madda's well versed in the Tank / Healers roles of FFXIV. However, when doings PUGs and such, Madda has enforced two very new rules in order to move things along. Maybe Madda lied. They're so Madda doesn't have to explain to you why you're an idiot for running into a pack of mobs and expecting Madda to tank those as well as another 3-4+ mobs. Tank: If Madda is tanking, and the DPS pull any mobs deliberately (Madda knows), they will be tanking the mobs pulled on their own. There are some classes that have a positional requirement, but when pay attention to your surroundings. If a pat is coming just behind us, and the Ninja moves there just so he can get another 20% damage increase on his backstab (or whatever class/spell) and we're not on a boss, you should know better. That ability damn well better take at least 30% of the guy's HP. Healer: Probably the most dangerous position of power you can give Madda. In dungeons or raids, Madda is your God. You will pay your blessings to Madda. Being nice and polite as well as competent gets you heals. Being 8 years old and pissy because you lost a roll / having a bad day, however, will make you the lowest priority on Madda's list. Madda will heal the Scholar / Summoner pet over you. Madda has gotten kicked several times for this. also will you please let Madda cast Protect before running away? To Duo Quers Madda's glad you found a friend to do dungeons or whatever with, Madda is. But if your friend makes a mistake and can't handle criticism well, don't go and be his white knight. If you're at the point where you blame somebody else for a mistake you made, and can't handle the responsibility of swallowing pride, please play with a controller. As entertaining as it is to watch you scream and wave your arms around like a stuffed animal that gained consciousness, we'd like to get on with the dungeon / raid. -
F( joke/fun character while Madda tries and focuses to sleep. ) Character Name: Tyaka (child fighter, roughly the age of ten IRL) Title: Pickpocket / Vandal Theme 1mrlGDcm1Hs Stage Description La Noscea: Coastside Fields - The stage consists of the fighters duking it out on a beach in front of a field of crops. Umbrellas and beach towels are across the screen, with some beach goers watching the fight. Moveset Description Tyaka is a tricky fighter to master, as her style consists of mainly showing off to her opponent and everyone watching. Many combos and specials will have her either gaining distance, or closing in on enemies, which can backfire if Tyaka is caught in a combo. [+] Her small size makes Tyaka to practically be unable to be grappled unless she is in the air. [+] All of her attacks at the end of a combo deal different kinds of damage; Tyaka is one of the characters able to deal almost every type of damage. [+/-] Mediocre damage. Nothing powerful, but able to get the job done. [-] Tyaka is a fragile young miqo'te. Getting caught in a chain could spell disaster for a good chunk of your HP. [-] Some attacks need to recharge for a few seconds after execution. This leaves her unable to use half of her main advantage. Special Moves Special 1: Chemical OIC - Special 2: Special 3: Nemesis Tyaka wouldn't have a special boss, but her main foes would all be people that she pesters during her misadventures at the beach, stealing things to sell or eat. Intro Quotes General 1: *Tyaka checks her bags, throwing out a random assortment of items, sometimes including epics / relics! She finishes before looking at her opponent and smiling, getting into her idle stance* "Wanna play?" "I know I put it somewhere...There you are!" General 2: *Tyaka is munching on a sweet or pastry before devouring the entire thing in one gulp, wiping her mouth* "Mine!" "But I'm in the middle of lunch..." General 3: *Tyaka chases her tail briefly before looking up at her opponent, confused* "Oh. Are we supposed to fight?" "Can you gimme a minute?" "Dizzy..." vs Mirror Match: *Tyaka frantically waves to her opponent* "Hi, me!" "Hello, other me!" Win Quotes General 1: *Tyaka goes up to the loser and rummages in her bag before offering them a cookie.* ( Win at over 50% HP ) "We can eat now!" "Wanna be friends?" "This should help." General 2: *Tyaka twirls around a single time before entering her victory pose* ( Win at over 90% HP ) "Winner!" "Yay me!" General 3: *Tyaka is seen taking a brief nap near the defeated opponent, quite oblivious to whatever's going on.* "Zzzz..." "*snores*" Lose Quotes General 1: *Tyaka falls to the ground, throwing a tantrum before calming herself and lying there* "No fair..." "This isn't fun..." General 2: *Tyaka groans and flops to the ground, pouting.* "I went easy on you..." "Cheater." General 3: *Tyaka runs away, crying in embarrassment.* ( Enemy won with over 90% HP )
