I'm sort of with Croft/Verad on this. (tho i do listen to music) Music does practically nothing for me in terms of writing/RP. I usually have something going as background noise and my tastes are very eclectic. What I listen to is based more on personal mood and present preferences rather than inspiration or to set a tone for something. I can be listening to jigs/reels and be RPing something really dark/sad. *shrug* I don't choose 'theme songs' for characters. I'm terribly bad at it.

I can and have gone along with fantasia potions being a viable, if rare/difficult to come by ingame thing. So will continue to do so. Jaques will react however he's going to react based on how the other person presented themselves both before the change and after the change. And I always reserve the right to step away from RPing with someone, temporarily or permanently, if I just can't get into the way they present it. Ends up being too gimmicky/breaking immersion too much/constantly changing/whathaveyou for me to handle. As others have said, it's been done and done well by some others here. So I won't condemn it and will go by a case-by-case basis. /mytwogil

I don't see myself retconning Jaques very heavily, if at all. Even as more Duskwight clans come to light. I did do the whole 'special snowflake' thing with that clan. Because we do know that strange little sects exist within Eorzea such as cults and the like... I sort of did that for his backstory. Taking inspiration from the little sects that exist and function within our own modern day world. Then creating one I thought fit into Eorzea but wouldn't be taken as a threat and hunted. No necromancy or religious sacrifices there! So even if more Dusky clans come to light I don't see his clan changing or his upbringing being all that different than how I had it. Just gives me further clues and ideas as to -how much- his clan deviated from the norm. Especially since his deviations are all character and flavor rather than any sort of ability or strange magics. That said... they still haven't answered any Dusky related questions. *sigh* And everything else they answered really doesn't affect Jaques or my alts that much.

Jaques heads past the first landing, the hallway filled with ex-slaves talking quietly and solemnly to each other as the conclusion of the latest display becomes hot topic. At the second and final landing he turns down the hallway, which is much quieter then the floor below. He opens one of the doors partway down and enters to turn on a light. Once others had caught up he motions around the room. "This is what any who seek sanctuary receive. We aren't nearly at full capacity so there is no need for anyone to share rooms." The windowless room held a double bed with bright coloured bedding, a desk, a dresser, an end table, and an area that had the screen pulled back to show the watercloset. "It's a bit bare but whoever uses the room can decorate and fill it with the personal touches they like. Those who were born and were made to work here have very fine and richly decorated rooms. And they probably don't yet realize the wealth they actually have there. Most of it gifts from past patrons I'd imagine." He pauses, letting Faye glance around. "And that is everything really. Is there anything further you'd like to see? Or perhaps you'd talk with the instructors or our charges?"

"What sort of scrap materials for artisans?" He asks before glancing to Aio. When the man commented about taking in children is jaw clenches and expression hardens before looking away. Finding other things to focus on such as how quiet the ally had become now that the children had dispersed.
