One fun thing I give all my characters is at least 1 irrational fear. My main, Baatu, is terrified of Miqo'te fur for example since he finds it utterly disgusting. He's an Au Ra, people should be scaly not fluffy. As for your situation, I'd have just warned them OOCly that you were gonna attack if it kept up, any decent RPer would know in that situation they are screeewed. If they some how managed to god mote their way to victory tis simply not worth playing with them.

What future game releases are you most looking forward to?

Speaking as a guy who is actively learning the Japanese language for a career. Even I'm struggling to understand what half of those words even mean x3 P.S. If your looking for a FC The Kindred is a very good EU time based one that should suit just fine, 'tis the one I'm in and it's great fun.

The Kawaii text is strong with this one. However I am Welsh and you are English so unfortunately that makes you my enemy.

Things You Love, BUT Would Likely Never RP?
Threndual replied to 13uddy's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I'd love to RP as the ring leader in an underground crime syndicate in Ul'dah, trading information for gil, shaking down the locals etc. I have storylines coming out of my ears that I could put into effect, the only issue is my time schedule IRL prevents me from dedicating myself fully to it. -
balmung Bastion's Blazing Barbecue Beach Bonanza Bash!(08/01) 7PM ET
Threndual replied to Tayelle's topic in Chronicled Events
Well! if they are an arcanist, marauder, or rogue, you can actually access Mist quite easily! Take the Tempest Gate exit from the Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks, and then run Northeast toward Red Rooster Stead! The entrance to Mist is right there. Sadly, my chosen character is a Thaumaturge x3 Level 1 to 11 in like an hour isn't bad. AND I found some stuff to wear from the market board as well, not far of getting to Limsa though I'm already late as it is :3 we're still going! Really? That surprises me, I've only just gotten the quest for the flight passes and I was afraid I'd have missed it all by now! -

I'd love to be there, but I only just transferred my characters over and they're all still like level 1 D: Time to power-level as quickly as I can then find something to where! -
Warning, this is how I hug people in need of one. This is not directed at a single person, consider yourselves all tackle hugged.

balmung Scholar and Explosives Expert Seeking Contacts
Threndual replied to Kiipa Nulstat's topic in Chronicled Connections
Well I've only recently begun RPing but I already have like 5 characters that I'd like to RP at some point and would love to get involved with. Buuut since I've only just started playing FFXIV in general (Only been playing like a month, not including release x3) all of my characters are still very low level. My highest actually being my main at level 32, a Xaela warrior. The characters I've planned (And already made on another server, just waiting for the moneys to transfer them all in one go. I made them all in one big go to save money) are a dark skinned, slightly eccentric Female Hyur Thaumaturge with more than one screw loose in her head. A blue-haired Seeker of the Sun who prefers the company of books and herbs to the majority of people unless they too are of a more scholarly nature. My male Hyur pugilist, blonde of hair with the best damn mustache ever, cocky, arrogant, vain. Essentially a very shallow character who does as he pleases and takes what he wants, confident that he can win most fights before the other person can draw their weapon. Lastly muh Lalafell. If you ever fancied a giggle at a little, elderly bundle of rage, I got just the character for you Have been thinking about having a tomboy bandit/piratey type character but haven't decided yet. Like I said though, most of my characters are like, not even at a level I'm comfortable to RP them at yet so I'll get back to you at a later date :3 -
Getting into Balmung - Not Happening Indefinitely.
Threndual replied to Kage's topic in FFXIV Discussion
I think one of the reasons the char creation is locked more when compared to say World of Warcraft, is because you do not need alts to experience the full game. In WoW for example, you start of with your race and class. Your race only affects the game in a minor way with reputation, starting stats and a racial ability but that's pretty much negligible by late game anyways. Then there's class, which you must level from 1 to 100, you cannot switch classes on that character and you're pretty much stuck with what you initially chose. In FFXIV however you can easily swap your class at any time as easily as switching your weapon. You can tank, heal and deeps all on the same toon without ever needing to switch. Races in the game do not even have a racial ability and the stats are again negligible by end game. If I was SE, I wouldn't be too worried. I'd probably do something to give people an incentive to play on the lower populated worlds. Perhaps by having like a server wide experience bonus for new players or something. -

Well the after maintenance thing doesn't seem to work lately. This is the 4th time this morning I've woken up stupidly early to try and make some alts but it didn't work :3 -
balmung EU time-based Adventuring Linkshell Interest Check
Threndual replied to Adventurer's topic in Chronicled Connections
I'd be up for it with my number 1 guy Baatu, however his priorities would lie with the Kindred (An EU time based mercenary FC) rather than this linkshell, so if the two had clashing events for example he'd pick the Kindred :3 -
I'd backhand him and then he'd backhand me back. A series of Night of the Museum style slaps would then occur.
-
Baatu is color blind He has a love of dodo burgers He often acts innocent but that is just because of his lack of Eorzean euphemisms. Has an irrational fear of Miqo'te and other fluffy things, he dislikes the feel of fur and much prefers scaley things. Really wants a drake to ride into battle :3
-
Because when I started playing, just 2 weeks ago, thought Au Ra would be a really rare race in RP since people wouldn't want to abandon their pre-existing characters. I was mistaken.
-
Baatu would be the best wingman of all time, we'd go out and he's be loving the attention from all the real world Hyur girls while we banter back and forth about everything
-
My best moment in gaming is probably going to have to be the ending of Mass Effect 2 upon completing the suicide mission with no crew mates dying. Words cannot express the amazingness that was Mass Effect 2

Hi there, I'm also british therefore we must stick together. I'm recently joined a FC called "The Kindred" and it has a lot of european players in its ranks, I perosnally have not joined yet ICly despite being in the FC for over a week now due to my real life time constraints but they're reasonable enough to understand that and in the FC chat seem like a brilliant bunch! Based purely from the OOC chatter I've enjoyed this past week while leveling I'd recommend them 110%

Does your Character aspire to be a Hero?
Threndual replied to -no longer matters-'s topic in RP Discussion
Baatu is more like Deadpool in the fact all he want's out of life is money, women and conflict. If it just so happens he gains these three things by felling evil beings and some considering him a hero then so be it, if not, chance are he'll end up being seen as more of a bad guy. All depends on how things go I suppose. -
What physique does your character prefer? WAIT! In their significant other!
Threndual replied to g0ne's topic in Fun Prompts
Well Baatu certainly prefers his women shorter than himself, as a Xaela he's grown up with all the females in his life shorter than him as is Au ra physiology, so that's a must. Lalafell are too short however. Obesity to him is a sign of laziness and he considers it both physically ugly and an ugly reflection on the persons lifestyle for letting themselves become so fat. However, on the flip side muscular women to him are a sign that the woman is a fighter and far too independent to be worth trying to have a serious relationship with, however he does LOVE flirting and teasing muscular women on a casual basis. And if it turns out she is worth a proper relationship with then so be it. Ideally for Baatu however would be a slim, short woman. He is very much your typical macho bloke (I mean, think Bacchus or Elfman from Fairy Tail, or Aladdin from Magi if you watch anime) so for him the perfect physique would be the typical girly girl, frail and needs looking after. My character is very much inspired by anime things I've watched x3 -
What's something nobody expects your character to be/do?
Threndual replied to Unnamed Mercenary's topic in Fun Prompts
Nobody expects Baatu, a Xaela Mercenary to find Lalafell so utterly adorable he goes from beer drinking ladies man, unusual customs and a joker to all mushy eyed "I want one on my bedroom shelf" -
Does your character have a trinket of some sort?
Threndual replied to Kage's topic in Character Workshop
Baatu has just one important one. Basically I decided to make him a little odd and gave him a few family customs and this is one of them. The trinket is basically made from the first scale that ever fell off of his body, hanging around his neck by a simple chain. The idea is that no matter where he ends up in life he will always have that reminder that at some point he was a young, helpless child and that there are others like that out there that need the same sort of guidance he received when he was young. -
Hah, this is my first play through of FFXIV And I chose a Warrior because A) Greataxs are bad ass and B) I heard they were one of the hardest classes to play and C) I enjoy tanking. I realize I'm gonna get a LOT of stick of certain people for screwing up a lot in my first few weeks but the trick is to just not give a crap. People who get mad when they play games are just idiots who should take a step back and consider what it is they're getting mad about. That somebody somewhere in the world who they are playing with and will likely never meet made the pixels on his screen move in a way he didn't want them to. Such a brilliant thing it get mad over.
