  1. I was originally going to play a hella fine Roegadyn. ... but then I played around with the character creator and, remembering how much I ADORED Tarus in XI, decided to give Lalafell a try. And it stuck, because honestly you can't beat a lalafell. Scary Roegadyn would later become a hella fine Highlander instead, because I couldn't get a Roe to look angry enough for my liking. GO FIGURE.
  2. Jajara tends to drift between her company home in the Mist, Limsa Lominsa, and Aleport. Delial bounces between La Noscea and Thanalan, generally outside the cities so most contact with her is prearranged.

Aaaah I just noticed this! Congratulations my dearest rival, will miss you but still wishing you the best. Please don't be a stranger! Say hello when you can! <3
  4. Just minding my own business, brooding while waiting for a queue, and then this... this creature comes up and starts rubbing my thighs! Shameless!
  5. This is pretty neat actually! It's not something I bring up in RP a lot because it's not something I've really thought on or fleshed out in my head. One of my characters is an incredibly amateur arcanist [after a fashion], and I've often wondered if one of my interpretations of arcanistry and the way geometries work might even be plausible. I read somewhere on a wiki or something that arcanistry was basically brought out of the south seas somewhere, though I wonder if other forms might have been discovered elsewhere? Or if other forms aside from what I assume to be the traditional ink-and-grimoire approach have been developed? Could other mediums be marked or used to grand the same effect? Would free-drawing, something that would undoubtedly be a rather chaotic way to mark geometries, apply to these other mediums as well? I am kind of glad that these sorts of things seem to be left open to interpretation, though I often worry I tread on things that might just simply be impossible at best, absurd at worst.
  6. Soooo many people showed up for the Coral party that I can't even name everyone! Thank you for your costumes and your stories! Jajara had a good time passing out treats and things and actually dressing up for All Saint's Wake this year. Her Mr. Face dapper skeleton costume came together decently well I think!
  7. Leans in for hug. Punctures lung with hilt of sword. *cackles* (Sorry, had to ruin the mood) D: !!! Now that I think about it...Gharen made her that sword. It figures. Gotta keep little sis safe from those scoundrels. :>
  8. ... now I really want to try this myself! Neat video. :>
  9. probably gonna play/stream some Dark Souls while mulling over story things. nothing gets me in the mood like repeated painful, horrible defeat.
  10. It's mostly a mood thing for me. If I need to be in a certain mood for a certain scene, I'll pop up something appropriate for whichever character. This is especially true when I need to write! Since spend more time stewing and thinking about stuff when I'm trying to write out things instead of just live RP.
  11. I think Jajara takes a bit from Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service - at least with regards to general themes. She's left home to strike out on her own (albeit for wildly different reasons) and struggles with matters of identity, isolation, vulnerability, and self-doubt. She's not the smartest or most talented thing ever but she makes do and works hard. Living well and living honestly are things she values the most. Delial could be seen as taking influence or inspiration from a few different sources. Full Metal Alchemist's Lust, .hack//SIGN's BT, Cowboy Bebop's Faye Valentine... to some extent Pirate Queen Yukkage from Gargantia and the Verduous Planet. BONUS: Delial's mother and the ever mysterious witch definitely aren't too dissimilar from Delphine Eraclea of Last Exile, and Ragyo Kiryuin from Kill La Kill.
  12. k4Oz8UmUXbg It is shameful that this thread has been dead for so long!!
  13. MDUoSpDKwXk This is absolutely perfect for Delial.
  14. AAAAAA I already miss all you lovely nerds <3 NEXT YEAR
  15. Got to shake Yoshi-P's hand @___@ .. and now in another line for the reception.
  16. There are some plans by general people on Balmung to do a dinner at ~ 9pm on Friday night after the reception in the buffet at Rio. I don't know yet what's decided on others., Ooooh might have to check that out then! Already dined and drank with several lovely people, can't wait to meet up with more!
  17. As a rule, they did not speak. Their interactions were brief and quick (albeit with rising frequency these past suns) and as discreet as could be made given that they could only meet in public. Eyes never met and in quieter moments (ones accompanied by copious drink), Delial occasionally wondered if they ever could. She handed over another handful of sealed envelopes. Surprisingly dextrous fingers (paws?) plied them free, giving what she assumed a glance over the addressees. Heads nodded in acknowledgement and Delial was ready to turn and go back the way she came when a paw rose, gesturing her to wait. The moogle made a quiet series of odd hooting sounds as it dug through its big red bag. How it ever found anything in it was a mystery to her: some form of moogle magic, she assumed, some trickery beyond the wits of men. It produced for her a single thick envelope, whatever contents it bore greatly distending its packaging. A quizzical glance rewarded her nothing but a shrug. You know the rules, it seemed to say, and Delial did not press upon it. It was worth a bit of worry, however, as none of the letters she had been sending would warrant anything more in return. Most peculiar of all was the sender's name: Coatleque Crofte. So she nodded her silent goodbye to the moogle and turned upon her heel. Horizon was not her preferred place of business but it beat Ul'dah. As she strode away, making for the shade beneath a store front awning, she neatly tore open the envelope in question and fished about inside. Between her pointer and middle fingers she caught a tiny plain tin with a lid sealed tight over its contents. Had she asked for evidence...? No, no, only information. Unless Ser Crofte is being crea-- Delial's brows pinched. She spun the tin around until the label came into view and she stared at it for many moments. Ser Crofte did not seem the type to jest with a woman she hardly knew, particularly not a jest in such poor taste. Sultansworn. Natalie. No more than five minutes would pass before Delial would find herself trying to explain to a shrivelled little woman and the Brass Blade she had summoned that yes, of course she would pay to repair that perfectly lovely and also outrageously expensive window and no, no, she had absolutely no idea what possessed her to throw a perfectly harmless and ordinary little tin of nail care ointment straight through it. It was a lie of course and she knew it well, but she could not find a way to put to words what blind, unthinking rage could express just so succinctly.

  19. I have a tumblr for Jajara, and a tumblr for Delial. Both link to my personal tumblr so if anyone happens to be that curious as to how big of a weird I am, there you go.
  20. I have personally been trying to curb down on my swearing (something not at all helped by my feeble attempts at Dark Souls recently GOSH DANG IT) and I suppose that has also kept me from wanting to swear in character, if only because I just don't like to. I will emote that my characters swear but I prefer not to use any specific words if I can avoid it. That said, I still think that the more colorful invocations of the Twelve (Thal's Balls! Mephnina's Tits! etc) are really funny.
  21. A sheaf of paper lay before her, marked only by the slow bleed of the quill in her hand. At least it had stopped shaking, some errant tremor that was no doubt caused by that idiot and his idiot bombs. Delial had only noticed it when she had finally made a retreat into her hideaway and thought to have herself a glass of wine to calm the oncoming headache. It did her little good, of course. She did not see what it was that would ultimately kill Natalie McBeef but it did not change the fact that the woman was still dead and, as far as she knew, there was little to be salvaged of the warehouse. A grenade? No, no, she was not that stupid. Others had been there: another Maelstrom girl, a man with an axe, the two guards they (or rather, she) decided to drag along on their escape. One of them must have done something. One of them must have... It matters not, she chided herself. Her quill tapped upon the paper. Despite what others might have thought of her, she did not enjoy death. It was far too easy, far too kind, and for all the wrongs McBeef had done, she deserved something more. The Gods would not give her that satisfaction, of course. There was nothing she could take from her demise but annoyance. Truly, they mock me. Is this my punishment? Her pulse thudded in her ears and little by little the nails of pain at the backs of her eyes dug in deeper. Growling, she balled up the stained page and tossed it aside. Taeros would be cross but the mishap might have bought them some time. The Sultansworn, the Sergeant, the Pirate, and the Snake; they all still had their parts to play, as did Delial herself. She forced out a long breath, clawing for focus, and began to write. "We do what we must," she muttered to herself. "We do what we must."
  22. I do not engage in ERP. I have before, mind, in other games. The trend seems to be that I have poor judgement in those cases and interactions with those players simply devolve into them wanting nothing but ERP and that really is not cool with me. Even had someone just completely drop contact with me because I wouldn't ERP with them. Shrug! I have nothing against people who do do it - as Val said, we are RPing adult characters who get into adult situations and sexuality is kind of a big part of a lot of peoples' lives! ... But I don't understand people who do nothing but ERP. If that's their thing, that's great! I just think it's weird and I am not going to take part in it. Fade to black is great! Jajara has been an interesting exercise because A) lalafell so a lot of folks act with that "lalafell = children" mentality, B) she is EXTREMELY sexually repressed to begin with, C) thanks to a certain lalafellin trickster in her company she is currently a he and is struggling very much with identity. She was raised thinking that sex is a dirty, shameful thing and it took her a long time to break out of that to get to a point where she can actually enjoy it, even if she only has slept with those with whom she is in committed relationship with. Still doesn't enjoy talking about it in public and is always extremely appalled when she hears people discussing all sorts of private, intimate things out on the streets! She was also raised thinking homo- and bi- sexuality are absolutely unnatural and is definitely at least mildly homophobic. She has friends and coworkers who dabble, of course, and she doesn't go out of her way to harass them about it. There's even some kind of awkward feelings with regards to the above mentioned trickster which she has been adamantly trying to bury as soon as they come up. She just can't understand it and is pretty certain she finds it disgusting. ... which is kind a pickle, then, because of her current situation. She's in a male body and in love with someone in a female body and it's just completely throwing her for a loop. Hasn't even been able to engage in intimacy with her guy because... well. Everything is wrong! And she is so terrified that the moment she does break down and acts is the moment she'll be branded some sort of deviant or pervert. Delial on the other hand is much more open about it. She's taken men and women as lovers, partaken of acts with multiple lovers at once, and has not once felt any reason to be ashamed about any of it. For her it is pleasure and little else. It is a rare thing for her to have romantic attachments and so she rarely equates sex with love. The last person she did sleep with, however, was also one she was so deeply enamored with that she has not been too inclined to seek out intimacy with anyone else yet. Much to her own aggravation - just when did she get so dang sentimental?!
