"You wouldn't believe the week I had! So I'm pokin' around the miner's guild fer permits what so I can go prospectin' out into the desert proper an' this feller comes up, real big feller what with airs' a adventure about 'im, see? An' he says, 'looks like yer lookin' fer some real treasures!' An' I says, 'well, yessir, I am, gotta find somethin' real lovely fer my, uh, boy.' So then he pulls out this paper, an' it looks real official! Words an' a map an' everythin', an he says, 'How do ya feel about ruins?' So I says, 'Well, I ain't ever rightly been to any but I hear they're pretty nice, what with bein' historical an' such.' An' he smiles an' hands me a quill an' says, 'Well, I think we can help eachother out here...'" Jajara trails off and fidgets and generally gives the impression of incredible discomfort. "How was I s'posed to know there were mummies in them stones? It was an accident, I swear!"

It's looking like this is happening on a day I am free so if you would like a Jajara along to punch things or get punched, I'd love to tag along. EDIT WAIT I LIED I might have raid things going on but if not...!!!

I find one of the best ways to hype myself back up for RP is to think about ridiculous situations for my characters to be in. What if Jajara hasn't been around work so much lately because she developed a gambling problem and has been working as a chocobo jockey to make up the lost gil? What if she had to do the bunny girl thing for a bit, and go around serving people strange colorful drinks? What if one of her friends saw her doing that? How quickly would she die from shame? Etc, etc.

Officially working again, whew. Met old friends and had a good time overall. Good stuff, definitely.

I'm pretty much garbage when it comes to plots and things but if you ever feel like bumping into an angry highlander woman then feel free to hit me up. Depending on Things, might be able to point someone one way or another for More Things.

Death and how your character handles it.
cuideag replied to Makyn Loneseeker's topic in Character Workshop
How does your character deal with killing? Delial has made her peace with the fact that killing is just another part of her life, like eating and sleeping. If she laments anything, it is the fact that many of the people who she associates with (and, lately, have come to fight for) are unable to cope with the fact that one death might save so many more lives down the line. She views it as a practicality to be used for the benefit of the greater good, and so she does not find it hard to think that there are people who are better off dead. How did your character feel after his/her first kill? Justified. Does your character mull over it later on? Rarely. There are special cases, however, and those are the ones that have lingered in her thoughts. -
Business, and... business mostly. One is an Ul'dahn merchant who lives in Limsa but still makes regular trips back and forth for trade. Now and again she'll deviate and make the trek up to the Sanctum of the Twelve because she's a good and pious little popoto, but it's mostly due to business. The other is an informant who goes where ever the rumors and the gil goes. People pay her to be places so she makes it her business to be in those places. Hasn't gone back to Ala Mhigo due to Problems Being Made Her Problems, and a very foreboding feeling that she wouldn't have anything to really go home to anyways. Being practically homeless helps with staying mobile.

To those who attended Dogberry's party yesterday...

Whoa dang, even the GMs love Dogberry! Congrats and belated Happy Nameday! -

I've been called Deli Aisle for years, but it's really just Deh-LIE-al. Jajara's been pretty easy for folks. Did get asked once if it was supposed to be pronounced Hahara, though.

I wish I didn't like playing with these things so much. Not very popoto-lookin' but whatev. Big, soul-less eyes.

Balmung MVP confirmed. ^ -
Osric was cuter before he took that stupid turban off. ... also before he got all doe-eyed about lavenders.

Why don't you craft up some hair tonic for those comb over corn rows? But make sure it's HQ. EDIT: TOO FAST

Coatleque only has TWO boobs. What a let down. EDIT GOSH DANG YALL ARE TOO FAST.

Going to echo quite a few people here. If you must, do your research. Mental illnesses are a pretty serious thing and dressing it up as a cute quirk or whatever doesn't do those who suffer from one thing or another (or several) much credit.

Name: Gosh, I dunno. U'fihk Tia or something. It might not even be his real name. Concept: Dawn of the First Day, ~1440 Hours Remain~ Race: Seeker Miqo'te Quote: "Are you sure I won't be a bother?" I had a thought for a sort of experiment, in a way, but I never got around to rolling him and I don't think I ever will due to time and stuff. Hella props to those of you who manage to juggle more than one alt. So this deep Sagolii catte got knocked off nuhn status a good while ago (maybe pre-Calamity even) and he's been sort of just tagging along with the tribe since, teaching the kiddos and doing whatever little things he could do. But he's been getting weaker and sicker and he knows he's about at the end of his ropes. He says his goodbyes, as he knows how dangerous it is to be a burden on the tribe, and he leaves. I was going to just RP him around Ul'dah at first. No levelling aside from maybe level 15 at the most, or whatever it is so you can at least ride the boat to Limsa. He has no job so he would have to beg for food, has no real strength any more so he can't fight. Just has his personality and his stories. I was going to see if I could RP him around the world at least once within, say, 60-90 RL days. No airships - all travel would have to be on foot or via ferry and take a few days because yeah the world has got to be a frillion times bigger than what we see represented in-game. Can't go anywhere without RP companions cause he'd get lost/eaten for sure so if his companions move on without him he'd be stranded wherever until he could RP up more travelling companions. Nothing scripted, no calling on people I already know, just straight up RP at strangers and see if it sticks. Maybe set up a blog to keep track of what he's up to, where he's going, what hasn't killed him yet, and who he's travelling with. Anyway at the end of whatever time limit I'd pick, that... would be it. I'd stop logging him in because he'd have died, be it en route to somewhere or otherwise. Maybe send a note to whoever he was with that they might have found his body somewhere. But that'd be it! And if I happened to hear about this weird grandpa catte via like.. a story, or actually catch someone talking about him in game while I'm doing my thing? That'd be pretty dang rad.

Thiiiiis. When all else fails, make friends. I believe we even have some linkshells showcased here on the RPC specifically for helping folks clear content. "make friends" I'm sure that's easy and simple for all you social butterflies out there, but for someone like me you may as well ask me to climb the friggin' moon. You may then (rightfully) ask me why I am playing an MMORPG, but then I would have to retort that this is the closest thing to a modern remix of the original Final Fantasy games we've had in close to a decade now and there are many reasons to play an MMORPG besides social interaction. And also, what Melodia said. I wouldn't class myself as a 'social butterfly'. So no, it's not easy. If people are shy then that's something people can sympathise with but if they want to do group content then...they're going to have to interact with other people. Especially if they don't want to rely on the duty finder. I think you'll be hard pressed to find a player that doesn't have issues to deal with. At the end of the day, though, there's plenty of routes to go down when it comes to finding groups to tackle content. It might take time, effort and more than a few failures but that applies to most aspects of life. I do interact with people. Daily. So my question for you and the community maybe is, when PF groups repeatedly fail or fail to form, and friends won't help, and DF is impossible (I am looking at you FCoB)....what does someone in my shoes do? Just suck it up and accept that I won't get a clear? You can give up, or you can give it another go. How far you make it through content is wholly up to you. The help is out there. It really is! Heck, hit me up if you need help with things. I'm not in any of those clear LSes but I love doing Primal Extremes, for example.

And also, what Melodia said. I am sorry to say that I'm not a social butterfly at all! But I do see when people offer help, or when there's groups up on PF, and so on. It's a great way to meet people to do content with, even if "hey let's clear this" is your only point of social contact.
