This bit that seems so small, is going to be so hard for me to get use to :frustrated: I am an alto-holic but you do have to invest a lot in one char to get the most out of the game I fine.

FFXIV - not really I suppose the things that occur to me that are different Very much the game-play is single character multi-class as opposed to single class multi-character Shout & Yell are area wide, so use /say and /em to RP with Use , , to put in the names of target/focus/targets-target into text.. useful when you can't spell names (like me:)) My mind is a bit shot from yesterdays RP/wedding .. still catching up.. welcome to the LS LS membership is by character, so if you made another they would need to join separately. We have another LS for alts as the main one is now full, you are free to join that.

As others have mentioned, check out the [RP Linkskell & Free Company Lists for Balmung] for things that suit you. It is really just this.. and this is a life thing not an RP thing. I think it is best in Open Game to: 1. Take a lowest common denominator approach to RP until you get to know the other person(s) style 2. Take OOC and stuff like that in good humour, though rude is rude. 3. RP around and over the rest. 4. In the end you decide what IC you take from RP Quicksands is like Goldshire in that it is a hub and as such attracts the easy and opportune RP. It is not like Goldshire as we don't have hordes of the sorts you would find in WoW's Goldshire. It's all relative. My advice.. go RP in the other Cities where it is a lot "nicer", I find Limsa has huge RP potential.

Soooo... You can try for a Scholar IC and there are pros and cons to that. One alternative I would suggest is throw the archetype "class/jobs" out of the window. Use the fact that they provide some meta information of what is possible and decide instead what your character would be. Archaeologist Healer Fairy fanatic Witch/Warlock Maybe the fairy found you but was vague and ghostly until you found the stone? There are many ways to spin it and still justify the powers, but not the label.

My vent would be negativity feeding negativity. Sure we all want/need to vent but what we need after that is to find something positive and publicise that, or at least ask others what they do like about the game. So if folks want to vent, please try to add something good afterwards. negative + negative = vicious spiral. Just say no! Hopefully all the other threads and such should help with that! Talking about what you love about the game, theorizing, and other such things. This one specifically, though, is for complaining about that healer who was playing limbo with your life total (HOW LOW CAN YOU GO) or that Garuda EX run that was marked as a "farm group" that can't even manage to get her past half health. Fortunately, we seem to have managed to avoid the aforementioned vicious spiral - mostly, I believe, due to people complaining... some folks agreeing and/or commenting (seriously or jokingly) about it... and then moving on to the next bit of venting. Everyone seems to be keeping on the straight and narrow about it, so I don't see any need for any additional rules or policing of the thread at the moment. Of course, if people start veering away from that, you bet I'll say something. :thumbsup: Apologies this was not a comment on or even in this topic, but an OP in another thread. *hugs* carry on venting

If you don't know us and would still like to some and join the RP setting you would be welcome. Generating an IC reason is easy enough. Wrong wedding, mystery invite, arranged a clandestine exchange, won the invite in a lottery, got as part of a bad debt, fell asleep from the previous wedding and are still there, failed teleport, assassins, ducked in to escape the swarm of winged monkeys etc..

I know! But it is surprising the amount of RP this has generated in the preparation work, we have been approached by a wonderful bard + ensemble , we have Claire Fialo doing the IC coordination, and now we just have dancers to sort out.

A few of you are looking sad and worried.. find a friend for a hug ( )
