Hi, I just wanted to offer joining hugs & cake LS. We have a fair few new players there as well as some of the more shy ones looking for connections. There is generally quite a bit of intro RP going on between members and this is a great way to widen RP friends. Iink in my SIG. Also if you need the services of a witch, bard, alchemist or just some investigations Nebula can hook you up.

Welcome and you will find many of a similar story here. The best way to get established is through Linkshells (chat groups) and free Companies (guilds), and you can find lists of those here with some description of their flavour.. shop around. Also Ul'dah adventurous guild is the general mosh pit of random casual RP. Worth a look, not as bad as Goldshire.. mostly No honestly it is fine. RP is definitely alive and dig a bit on the resources and Server areas and you will find a lot of activity.

I avoid Ul'dah, especially Quicksand unless things are very thin and I can't face another craft. In fact I tend to avoid the cities for RP and base thing out there is wilderness land.

Nebula is a Chosen of Nymeia, the Spinner. As such her nose twitches and leads her to places where fate is in the balance. That way she can be just about any place. Also her Carbuncle is known to run off and dig things up.

Welcome I'd definitely recommend a linkshell (chat group) and a freecompany (guild) as ways to get on in the game and RP. There is a linkshell section on these forums where you can check these out. You will soon pick the game up and RP is really about that mix of text and emotes with character and gameplay. You should pick thus up quick if you have RPed before.

It happens in life, it will happen other places. What is laughable is how 3rd hand slander is so hyped up and wrong yet people seem to think it is true. Some of the things people have said about me made me laugh. However, don't give it any airtime. In a LS I started we take people on their own intentions, not what anyone else says. Don't listen to what others say, at least give someone a chance by getting to know them, you will be surprised how wrong first impressions can be.

I'm the same, I have to learn the "dance" in the dungeon, and I do, I get better each go, I only have T13 to clear (I have been maining as SCH). But most people want you to have encyclopaedic knowledge and know what to do.. often those people have already progressed further than you so assume you know too. This selfish gear/win focus in PvE is what I think makes it tough as blame/expectation is high. I'd like to dungeon & raid with friends and progress as friends, not have friends become competitors. I do like doing new content with no spoilers and learning the fights, then if/when you do see a video it makes more sense. On the learning side, I am happy to help with that, I can bring a geared tank or healer to help someone learn things with out the fear of letting others down.

"They got away, what happened to Cledge? He's not?" the lancer left that question hanging unsure if his comrade had made it or not. Nebula still knelt on the floor, drained by the work.

Well I have noticed the same, some tanks take lots some take little. So as the healer just make sure you heal, I tend to not go DPS until I get a feel for the tank. In fact you could adopt the same approach, you just heal.. let the nutters deal with aggro and taking damage. let the dps die and make sure the Healer and Tank live. Not ideal but it is come as you are PuG territory. (PUG Life)

IC and OOC always good for a chat and advice. Gives great ear scratches.

Sorry for all he things I do that annoy people, some I know and some I don't, and even even those that please some annoy others. Also sorry that while I would like to help so many people I am selfish in that I play this game for my enjoyment, so offers that help take time for me to fit in. And finally.. I don't do text, I summarise, and I conceptualise and I visualise. I know those who like specifics and detail will be annoyed by this but we are a bunch of all-sorts. It's my disability and I would not trade it for anything. I am sorry that I sometimes push against this gap rather than walking away.
