1. You can check out mine (The Clandestine, icly known as The Kindred) in the LS section, but we are EU based - with a few daytime US players. We're a neutral for-profit company. And even if you don't feel for us, you can always hit us up for RP
2. I love tags! But for the purpose of hiding graphical/mature content, I would rather people used the spoiler function where you have to click a button to show what is hidden. Then it is properly peoples own fault if they bypass a warning and get offended.
3. I would avoid putting a house in the same ward as them. Several of RareX's members have been griefing roleplayers on Balmung recently, several days in a row. I'm not usually much for mentioning stuff like this, but this is severe/recurring enough to validate a heads up, imo You might try contacting the officers and seeing if they would do anything about it. I've gotten stuff resolved in the past with griefers by contacting their FC officers and asking them if they're okay with their members griefing other players. Whilst I tend to always do that, in this case I suspect one of the griefers to be one of their officers as well. I am not sure I would achieve much more than luring more griefers to the place, if my suspicion is right As such I am not going to risk it.
4. I don't actually think there's anything remotely odd about the Miqo'te being, presumably, the most played race. I don't think playing one makes it less unique either. There will always be a favorite of the community, and whilst it usually is humans/hyur that take that spot, it just isn't in this game. But anyways the popularity of a race doesn't make the individual character any less unique to start off with - and a good, interesting character you want to sit down and have a long talk with isn't necessarily going to be the one that is the most unique. In fact, some of the most memorable characters I've roleplayed with throughout my 5-ish year long career haven't had much unique/special snowflake-ism about them. When I see -any- character, I always wonder who they are, and if I'm lucky I'll get to find out. I have a dark past to reveal.. Sastra was once Miqo'te! When I first heard of the Miqo'te I was like "Oh my god, really?" but as I got a chance to play around with them, I actually started to see an appeal. Their emotes are really good (Except for male /sit. It's cool for about 5 seconds until you realize you're not going to be perching on tree branches all the time), they remind of something that is human, but isn't. I've got an issue with roleplaying things that do not resemble something akin to a human, and even something like the roe is a bit too much for me. The furthest away from playing a human that I've ever gotten, is the draenei in WoW, which is something I don't really rate that highly since it was quite literally my first RP character ever. I also liked what I had heard of their lore, I thought it to be an interesting challenge.. So as you might have noticed, I fantasia'd myself into being a highlander. What drove me away from the Miqo'te in the end, happened to be the very thing I thought was interesting: The lore. Whilst it did sound interesting, I found myself not able to work with it or come up with anything that could maybe eventually work. I could probably have done more to save it, but I tend to not chew too much on the same thing and rather move on to a new idea when I feel stuck. And I am happy with my now-highlander girl, she is lovely, despite having a fairly generic background. That said, I also have a male Miqo'te alt these days, a character I made with some ties to an existing character within the fc, that I am enjoying very much.
5. We are going to aim at Monday - Wednesday - Saturday, with friday being a potential addition as well depending. Other days, spontaneous openings might happen, but that all depends on if any of the hired staff wants to. If there are any other major events going on in the same space of time though, we may refrain from opening since we do not want to compete (and in many cases would probably be attending those events instead)

7. The resort is open once more For tonight only, if you show up in any of the Starlight festive outfits, you will get the first drink free!
8. Bronze Lake resort is open tonight, drop by and say hi
9. When the prices are dropped to match World Group 3, "The Kindred" [TCRP] will be purchasing land in the Goblet, unless we change our minds. We're in the process of grinding money for it, and I expect us to be able to get our hands on at least a small plot. Our strategy for purchase, unless other RP FC's beat us to it, will be to purchase land in the highest numbered ward available. As an example, if we were to purchase land today, we would be going for ward 5. I hope that this tactic will land us in a ward with room for other RP FC's to take up spaces close to us (going by the logic that people will pick from the top of the list and not the bottom).
10. This is not really the case. There may be people who can function after experiencing something traumatic, but you have to remember that the way the western society tends to work, there is an extreme pressure on these people to "walk it off", and pretend nothing had happened. Mental illnesses is a taboo, something you don't talk about to a lot of people, and families. They simply will not accept what's happened to their loved ones, because it puts them in a damaged and dysfunctional light. So maybe you can take these people to a club, and maybe they'll look like they're having fun, but what you see can be far away from the actual truth. Many feel ashamed over their experiences, or feel that they need to seem to be strong for the sake of others, and fear that if they are not then the people around you will hurt more than you are. I would encourage you to look a little closer, next time you see something like what you describe happen. Furthermore, an anti-social character does not need to have a traumatic experience that makes them grumpy, being anti-social can just be a part of who they are as a person and how they have always been - Just like some people irl have always been introverts for as long as they can remember. However seeing as most MMORPG settings are plagued by disasters, and FFXIV ARR especially, I imagine it would be pretty common to see people who's somehow had to deal with traumatic events.
11. Playing an anti-social character, like everything else RP requires a lot of thought and planning. I have seen, and experienced myself, the negative effects of playing a character that is brilliant in a lot of other aspects, but not in the one where 40-50% of the RP is gonna happen. One of the big ways that one can go wrong, I find is when you set too many limits upon your character, many times I've heard from players that they can not find RP, because their character would never visit a tavern, because they are anti-social. I would encourage anyone stuck in that situation to give an attempt at a different approach - Bring your character to that tavern. Is he/she going to like it and sit about smiling? No! They'll likely be grumpy (Or scared, depending), they might not even say thanks for that drink they couldn't do without - Make them act like a guest you'd never invite home. Sitting alone in the farthest away corner makes it difficult for people to interact with you, because they need a reason to do so - So instead of doing that, walk up to the bar and claim that someone took your favorite spot and they have to move. Dare to sit right in the spotlight and emit so much grumpy that people'll feel compelled to ask why. When you catch people's attention in an interesting way, you might even find yourself getting followed outside by a curious soul - providing an opportunity for your character to ease up the grump cause they're not in a social setting anymore - and that's where real friendships are forged, slowly but surely you can find your character develop new tendencies over time which might make him/her feel less anti-social in familiar social situations, but where the full onset of say, grumpiness, is still felt if anything new happens. Oh and, if other characters try to help your character "get over" something, such as scared and shy-ness, please follow along - I am not saying you need to change into a bedazzling fancypants charmer over night, but when people keep on trying and never see any improvements despite their very best attempts, it's going to discourage them from trying eventually, or maybe even kill the relation completely. Most people I've met who have social characters will feel some kind of need to help or fix whatever is (appearing to be) broken in a person. Having had a few characters being on the other side of the fence, so to speak, I really do not blame people for not interacting with people who are sitting in a corner being quiet. Unless you, like my current char Sastra have a reason for going to a person like that (To offer a drink, waitress and all) I have a hard time seeing why anyone would. There of course are a few reasons that could work, but it'd depend on having a character that carries traits that'd proc them, and those might be rare to meet on a random chance encounter. Sorry for the novel, I hope some of it made sense
12. I have never encountered anything describing it as such, abeit I may have missed something in a quest text somewhere. I think, in order to be running a player driven hub anywhere in the open world, it is necessary to loosen yourself from the lore without directly breaking it, otherwise doing any such thing would be near impossible since every open world location already has owners (though I should note we have not claimed ownership on the place), has a purpose etc. I like the idea of there being a player driven run (or more, more is better) around on a server because it puts some additional depth on what else might be a somewhat plain and routine-imprinted visit to any tavern anywhere. Would you mind finding a quote or telling me where I can find the lore for this? If we can work with it, we will, otherwise we may just be a tavern within close vicinity, though I would rather not use the latter since it complicates what would ideally just be a nice and easy spot to find rp. Also, some of our customers thus far would actually fit well within the bracket of a recovering soldier.
13. Rift's official forums usually get plagued by spam bots that wants to sell kitchens. Kitchens.. For gamers.. I don't know about you guys, but I never stopped up mid gaming-session and thought to myself, that I must buy a kitchen.
14. Edit: Removed this because it's no longer relevant.
15. My FC and I roleplay as though the story has happened, and any new developments will be added to it over time. We have used a system in another game before where we allowed 1-2 months to pass before accepting new things as happenings, it gives people room to experience the story developments themselves, and also decreases the risk of the new developments to ruin any ongoing plots. There are means to get around people who roleplay in what is the past to us, even without going ooc, which is something we make sure everyone knows. Only within the FC do we strongly encourage that everyone is on the same page of the book, so as not to alienate some players from others, which is a thing that also applies to other areas of RP - such as fighting style, and other expectations that may vary greatly from player to player. Playing with the development of the story can be a lot of fun, especially when it is not predicted too easily what comes next, it may induce things that are hard to induce on your own (such as wide-spread famines and other larger disaster elements) that in turn helps develop characters further and even in directions even the player did not expect. Not to say that isn't possible with anything else, but it's something I personally enjoy with it ^^ As with all things RP, not everyone will be in the same agreement. Focus on finding a group that suits your desires, and otherwise remember that there is no "right" way, only different ways.
16. We're open for tonight! Come along and have a drink
17. Hello everyone! The Bronze Lake Resort is a EU based hub-offer, where our goal is to provide a nice framework for roleplay to unfold and a place where people can go to find random roleplay. We're located in Camp Bronze Lake, and are a resort offering a variety of things, from food and drink to massages and a nice soak in the warm water. The resort is co-owned by Vyncent Fields and the resident NPC, and will be open when the staff is around to keep it open. The staff in itself consists of several people from multiple FC's. We can also be of assistance should your FC or Linkshell want to host an event, just let us know icly or here in the thread Watch this thread for notices of the tavern being open (Most likely to happen between 8pm-12am GMT). We also have our menu below, and pictures from happenstances around the resort. Cheers! ~ The Bronze Lake Resort Staff The Bronze Lake Resort Menu
18. It has been re-uploaded now: wM9YiMgdcPA The original version got taken down due to squeenix's rules about not posting game content with other music but the game's own soundtrack.
19. I and several of my fc members are currently rping in Upper La Noscea, at camp bronze lake, and we're open to see passer-by's join in
20. So, I'm finding myself doing a whole lot of fate-grinding recently, and I'm running out of things to listen to whilst I grind. So, I thought to ask what you guys listen to whilst grinding? Maybe I can get some new inspiration that can make this new obsession of mine a little more enjoyable.
21. Progress update (I hope these are alright to post?): We've come a good way since our start, and have now shaped up IC'ly to be known as The Kindred. We have a linkshell with that name as well, and as an attempt to adapt to the community, we will be allowing people to only be a member of the linkshell rather than both the FC and the LS. People through the linkshell will icly be treated as people we hire on temporary contracts rather than hiring on a permanent contract - which would hopefully give the option for more characters to RP with us even if they have commitments elsewhere. Furthermore, we have started to treat The Golden Bazaar as our "base" - not to lay claim to it, but merely to have a place to gather and have weekly meetings. We are aware that events are held here now and then, which we'll try to incorporate into our own rp so as to be attendees of those events (if they're open events, that is). The application on our website will get properly updated to be very short, so that it resembles more of a contact prod than an actual application - seeing as we do applications via roleplay.
22. The Clandestine is active and going. We've officially shaped up under the IC name of "The Kindred", which our new LS is also called.
23. You're -6 hours from the most of our rpers, so that actually fits up alright if you have afternoon events sometime. My FC runs of the general notion of supplying the roles you mentioned, so it could be really nice to collaborate
24. What timezone do you operate in? Depending on that, we may have two male miqo'te dancers you can borrow, as well as some potential security/barstaff. We're all europeans but some of us are nightowls
25. I finally got my Garuda weapon, this was played. I will now face Titan with all of my courage and might! ... Just kidding, I will scream, run around in a panicked circle, somewhat reminiscent of a headless chicken, and die in the most horrible of ways.
