Sticky situation! I really can't give you an answer, but - On the new worlds like Omega in the EU cluster, there is an experience buff going on which is substantial. You could roll a character there, level it up as you want, invest in the story-skip potions and then wait/hope/pray to transfer back to Balmung in the future - or seek out somewhere like Mateus for RP in the meantime, depending on your time zone of course. It's not the same as getting your characters back, but the exp buff and the story skip potions at least make starting anew bearable.

A lot of free companies these days seem to be running without a website, and use google forms and tumblr for things. I think one of the downsides is that on tumblr, things get buried easily if you follow a lot of blogs and there's the eternal issue of not being in a habit where you specifically check for a certain thing. Tumblr is also not super optimized for hosting a lot of information. I think it would depend a lot on which kind of FC you are, if your members are already using/familar with Tumblr etc. Even your size. Whilst I can give no timeline right now, we are in the process of upgrading our software here on the RPC. In the future, every guild listing in what will become the new FC/LS "Hall" of sorts, will have their own small forum. We are waiting for the release first of all (You can read more about it in the Announcements section), and we need to do some testing, but it is coming and may be a more viable option for yous then.

"Just before Stormblood" - Linkshell Status Hello everyone. Until the 10th of July, The Matron's Reach: Weekly Open Hours is taking a break to let people get up to par with Stormblood. In the meantime, a bit of housekeeping will take place. 1. All healers of the linkshell will be contacted by me and asked a few questions. There are some healers who have hardly interacted with the linkshell, and I wish to check up on the status of you and your characters. Are you still interested? Is your character still interested? Is there anything we can do to get you involved? Healers who I cannot get in touch with before the 10th will be temporarily removed from the Linkshell. You will be able to get back in if you get in touch with us. 2. This will lead to the list on the front page of this LS thread being updated. In addition to the list of healers, there will be a list of affiliated clinic/practice locations along with any other locations where The Matron's Reach peoples have been allowed to go. 3. The information on the front page will get overhauled to make it easier to read. I am also going to add some conduct guidelines. These will not be outrageous nor strict, but I feel like it is about time that we put into words what we expect of eachother. If you want influence on any of this, let me know. 4. The healer meeting will be structured to happen once a month post-Stormblood and will happen on either a saturday or a sunday, in a system wherein the day changes from month to month (Sunday->Saturday->Sunday->Saturday). The time will always be at 4pm EDT. I hope that by making the event "proper regular" it will be easier for people to schedule for. Obviously, I reserve the right to move or cancel meetings as needed. 5. As we get more information from the Expansion, we will eventually make a guideline for travelling with patients. If I manage to secure a house in Shirogane, The Matron's Reach will expand when it seems icly sensible. Thank you for reading! This really is not an attempt to fragment the community. Whilst there may be a situation where some leave Balmung with their mains in the EU community, as far as I have seen, it is not the majority who wishes to do so. Most people want to contribute to a new server with an alt. People are embracing that you can exist on more than one server for roleplay, and I think that is about time. There's a tonne of people using alternate platforms for their RP already, so why not hop on a different server from time to time. It literally will be free this time around, to transfer to this new server. Please also keep in mind that some people are seeking to move because the latency on Balmung for some european players have become unbearable. If they want to enjoy for example progressive end-game raiding, or maybe have spouses and other close friends who are into that, they have to move. Before the NA server location move you could sort of justify that it wasn't bad enough, however this is no longer the case for some. There are also ones that haven't been hit so hard and yet again some who do not really care about latency, but I don't think it's fair to blame those who have to do these things and tell them they're fragmenting the community. And yet again additionally, Balmung is locked and will probably be locked for a long time. On top of that, when it unlocks, we will no doubt be back in the situation where people have to pay to transfer onto the server. This is not a good way to convince new roleplayers to join up (I know a handful of my friends who chose not to, because of this restriction.) - For both sides of the sea it is about time the community unfolded and branched out. We may not be bigger than WoW, but we are the second most popular choice last I checked, I really do not see why the community shouldn't try to plan ahead & create welcoming homes for the future - especially when there are people motivated to lead these initiatives.

1. Yes, there are still RP'ers on Gilgamesh. They have their own website and you can also find some of them in this discord. Balmung will probably be unlocked again one day, but it wont happen anytime soon. We don't know for sure, but there are guestimates on 2-6 months. Alternatively, Mateus and Jenova also have RP communities on them, and there are smaller communities/individual guilds on some of the other servers too. This is a time where, because of Balmung's lockdown, the RP community is expanding on other servers and ideal if you want to get involved in shaping up something new and good Or in Gilgamesh's case, maintain the community there is there. Welcome aboard o/

Whilst we are waiting for the new server names, assuming there's going to be more than one: To cut the confusion, should we simply elect to head for the last new server in the alphabet? Or the very first one? Something like that. It may be easier to navigate over several discords and the RPC all shouting different names.
