Ya know, I never really think about things like that. I just kind of fart around with names until it fits. I became curious about the surname I chose for E'khei after reading everyone's posts, though. E'khei is just Miqo'te naming convention stuff ... BUT ... Balduin or Baldwin is Anglo-Saxon and Old German in origin. It means "bold friend". So, something like E'khei the Bold Friend or something. Eh ... it fits in certain scenarios.

Ouch. Yeah. You definitely have to watch out for the type of paint you're purchasing. Can't always trust the clerks. What are you going to do about the broken parts? Just get new ones or repair them if you can?

Wind-up Chocobo Inspector Item Flavor Text You've only heard of one. Though, there /has/ to be others. Use item to obtain a Wind-up Chocobo Inspector. Minion Guide This clockwork automaton is was built to help ensure the well-being of chocobos. It acts as a sort of alarm to warn the owner of health issues, though it cannot speak the exact problem. Behavior Independent Hover Text "Well, you see, you need to feed your bird more Greens." - E'khei Balduin Summon Text Summon your Chocobo Inspector Minion. If you need a quick inspection of your bird, this automaton is the one for you! Interactions Will attempt to inspect all nearby chocobos within range (5 fulms) Will make wild gestures to alert owner of potentially unhealthy chocobos. May attempt to ride chocobo chicks and hatchlings. /beckon will have the Inspector climb upon your head and point forward, as if to say, "Let's go!" After a few seconds, he will sit. An idle time of more than 10 minutes results in the Inspector slapping your head, as if to say, "Get a move on!" /handover will have the Inspector cautiously approach and reach out to you. /pet will have the Inspector cross his arms and seemingly grumble.

I am an INTJ, a Systems Builder. No surprise there. But reading the description again ... sometimes it just stings how true it can be. Khei is an ISTJ, an Inspector. He's a Chocobo Inspector for the Flames. It fits entirely too perfect.:chocobo:

Ooh! Have more to share! 6. I never actually thought about the timeline when I was building E'khei. Now that I'm trying to put everything together with some wiki additions ... it's a disaster. I can't have him join the Flames when he was 18, if the Flames don't officially exist until he's 21. Now ... I have to cram some things into a one year time slot. I'm sure everything will work out fine. :thumbsup: 7. I sometimes wish I would have played 1.0 (I wasn't aware of it at the time). Then I could have, hopefully, had all kinds of semi-lost lore regarding the Chocobo trade with Ishgard. Well, I'd hope it was more in-depth, but I highly doubt if the information existed at all. 8. I used to ERP several years ago. Now, fade to black is my best friend. 9. Yes, I do judge you if your grammar and spelling are horrible. The degeneration of English into text chat breaks my heart. "i c wut u 8 4 diner", literally makes me want to strangle someone. I, myself, am not perfect, but at least I try. Honest mistakes are fine, though, as most people tend to correct themselves. 10. Little emotes like the text smiley faces and such, have their place. It's definitely not in RP. Random chatter is fine. Just don't over use it. Some of the bigger ones are pretty cool, but dear lord, don't spam the thing everywhere. I'll probably blacklist you, just so I never have to see it again.

1. Echoing upon what others have said ... there are lots of folk out there I'd like to RP with at some point. It's hard to break out of the Shy Guy mask and just ask people, because I'm certain that everyone loves a little context and it's just so nerve-wracking talking to strangers. And it always feels like I'm trying to break into a tight knit group of people who have been together for a long time. 2. Right now, I don't have the time. Being deployed and taking an online course takes up 95% of my time. The only reasonable place to discourse being Skype. 3. Well, at least I'm still the only Chocobo Inspector for the Flames that I know about. 4. I've been in the Sand Pearl for so long and I've only spoken twice or thrice. And that's only because there was a mistype or someone randomly started chatting OOC.

If you speak to ... I think it's Kenthy ... at the Bentbranch Ranch, she'll clearly state that the majority of Chocobos fled south into the Shroud during the sudden weather change in the Ishgard/Coerthas regions (read Calamity). As such, Ishgard no longer held sway over the Chocobo trade as most of their birds came into the hands of the good folk of the Shroud. And even with the addition of Chocobo racing ... all the initial birds come straight from Bentbranch, where they are bred and raised. That all being said. I don't see why you couldn't be a horse breeder/trainer/racer. Or mayhaps ... an aspiring one? That would be easier, as you could try to build up connections to start your own ranch for just horses. Chocobo breeder would not be a bad choice if you went that way as well. I happen to know at least one person who does RP one. I, myself, RP as a Chocobo Inspector. In finality, I think it comes down to how you want your character to grow. Horse breeder/trainer/racer would be the toughest route, but entirely passable with some creativity.

For shepherding, your best bet is probably by riding on Chocobo. Even the calves are huge compared to our buffalo (not counting the minion). You're never going to have a clear overhead view of your stock, unless you're on a cliff. Mounted shepherding will be the quickest way to get around your herd and keep them together. Stabling or housing them is going to be your biggest issue. As calves, it wouldn't be too bad. You could probably use a wider chocobo stable-style building. Once they're fully grown, you're going to need a massive building. I think your best bet for just milking, is probably just having some sort of large stand/slightly fenced area to house one buffalo at a time. If I think of anything else, I'll try to add it in. I'm certainly no expert, so definitely don't take my word as law.

Re-upping because I'm not in the group and I want to be. Though, the Skype name is correct, I was just unsure at the time and too lazy to check. It'll just be my ugly mug for the photo, but the name is there. Can't say I'll sing songs or read bedtime stories though ... not while I'm deployed anyway. But I do like more friends with whom to speak with on occasion!

If I wasn't so busy preparing for saving the world from terrorists ... I'd sit in my Chocobokeep and watch most of you just pass by. Because nobody really /needs/ a complimentary Chocobo inspection. That's OK. I'll just sit there and smile as you all pass by on your exciting adventures. *hides in corner wishing he had more time to RP with all the people he's never RP'd with*

Well, unfortunately, I have no idea what my schedule is for basically the entire month of January as I'll be on Temporary Duty to another location. Once I find out for sure ... well ... we'll see.
