  1. /drinks it all up yes good amazing I'm loving what I'm seeing so far, can't wait to see that DRG LB3 clip and the full Heavensward Trailer! Benchmark plz, i need to roll my dargunbro
  2. Mhm. It's very discouraging to say the least. Don't let it be! If there's a niche that's not catered to by others, create something/run something/host something that caters to it! In fact, it should be motivation to provide a platform for representation more than anything else.
  3. Female roegadyns DO have a dramatic height slider though. It is a one foot range versus 4/5 inches. Most races and genders only have a range of 4. So, it could be done and they could really appeal to some of the minority players like myself by just introducing a variety of options in the character screen. Here's hoping benchmark doesn't disappoint. That picture bothers me a little. The folks in the picture are an exceptional couple as far as humans go. They are outliers and not the norm. Everyday real life humans aren't THAT sexual dimorphic. I find that in fantasy, that dimorphism is typically exaggerated. The picture, I don't feel, makes a strong case for Au Ra. I would say using animal species who already have sexual dimorphism as norm is a better example. Accctuallyyyyy, that's pretty much the height difference between my friend and his sister, not to mention it's very similar to that between myself and some of my co-workers (Four foot nine?! GOOD LORD WOMAN). It's not all that uncommon! It's not really wise to just declare something as exceptional or an outlier without knowing for sure! I do agree that using the animal species would be a better example though. It would also help them fill the 'bestial' quota. In this case, the bestial features may not be muscles, sharp teeth or claws, but simply the tail, scales and the sexual dimorphism.
  4. Creepy vacant eyed chicks with promised diverse customization options are my aesthetic. She's going to ride on the shoulders of her giant husband and gore people with her flippin' sweet horns. I have a crap ton of preliminary sketches to compare to the CC when it comes out and a loose backstory written up that'll be changed varying on lore. So, yeah, 100% on board with that train. Please let us all take a moment to appreciate this description. I rocked back and forth in my chair cackling, this is the stuff dreams are made of.
  5. A few of my friends are rushing toward the ladydarguns like there's no tomorrow. I'm considering having a female rah-rah in addition to my boy rah-rah as well, because I really love how they look. Them haunted eyes. That brittle, yet dangerous air about them. Eeeee
  6. I think there's something off here. Let me see if I can set things straight. We, the players, generated data. SE took this data into consideration when making the decision. SE is responsible for the decision based on this data. SE is also responsible for keeping their business running, and the game in existence. We, the players, are responsible for the data that influenced the decision. It was their decision. Based on our data. It was a good decision for SE, because it was good for the business. It was a good decision for the players, because they got what they wanted -- according to the data! A minority/minorities did not get what they wanted -- in terms of the aesthetic. There are avenues for them to voice what they want, and perhaps come together to represent this want so that next time around, maybe they can get it! ...there's...nothing really wrong with any of this. The fact that they are actually open to giving the player base what they want instead of shutting up in a room and making the decision without even considering us is AMAZING. It means, that if YOU HAVE an idea for a race, and several other people share it with you, YOUR VOICES can be heard and influence the content of your product! Yes! They are responsible for the decision. It's an AWESOME decision because it means that as players we actually have power. Sure, we need to get together and represent, but if we REALLY WANT SOMETHING...we can do it, and GET it.
  7. This is ridiculousness on stilts. They had a decision to make. They could have used input as varied as astrological signs, a game of cards, or comparing noses in making it. The method doesn't matter, the responsibility for that decision lies with them. That they chose to use a particular set of data does not shift that responsibility to those who generated the data. I'm not sure about all this 'shifting responsibility' talk but...when the ice cream vendor gives me rainbow sprinkles because I asked for them, is it his 'fault' for making the decision to give me the sprinkles, or is it my 'fault' for asking for them? ...there's is really nothing wrong with them making a decision to give people what they want!
  8. Also I dunno, Bryn, I'm seein' plenty soft side under that spoiler cut...
  9. How about ANY BODY HAIR AT ALL?! I want to look like I'm wearing a sweater when I unequip my chest slot! Y-yes pls... Why don't dudes get beard options at the Aesthetician!? I just want my in game toon to represent Berrod's body hair so I don't have to describe it every time he takes his shirt off. /sob
  10. A...actually I wouldn't mind body hair options...
  11. See, there's this thing called 'integrity' that I happen to value above and beyond mere profit motives and is especially applicable to fictional universes with an internal logic and history that should, hopefully, presumably make sense once everything is all put together, and hewing towards marketing-directed designs goes fully against that particular value of mine. Hence, I consider caving into marketing and the almighty dollar exactly that. It's a damn good thing I don't run the company! As you all say, they are a business being run as a business, so they'll do whatever they have to to keep the company afloat. As a customer, I don't have to share any of those values whatsoever, and frankly I don't care about the justifications that people use to apologize for the company's decisions. This view is -- my apologies -- completely laughable and very idealistically naiive -- not to mention TERRIBLE for any business in particular. I agree, it really IS a good thing you don't run the company! Hewing toward marketing directed designs is just one of the ways they actually keep the game in existence. Not to mention that there is a variety of designs (that fits the world lore, since the 'bestial' races are largely unplayable factions) available for us to choose from. I don't know what's being read or seen here, but nobody's apologizing for Square's decisions. Applauding them, understanding them, running with them, sure. The game is giving most of us what we want! For those of us who aren't getting what we want, there are other options out there, and avenues where we can voice our desires in the hopes that they'll be catered to. I won't yell at my ice cream vendor about integrity if all he has is rainbow sprinkles. I mean, only one kid in the whole town likes the chocolate ones. But who knows, if that kid asks nicely and often enough, the vendor might stock a container of chocolate sprinkles just for them someday.
  12. Giving people what they want -- people who are paying for the product, mind you, is not 'caving in'. When the ice cream vendor gives me the rainbow sprinkles I asked for on my sundae, they aren't 'caving in'. They're rendering me a service. Not to mention, we have options. You can be a cat-girl. You can be a potato girl. You can be a little human-chan, a big human-chan, or run around with the body of a Williams sister. Adding petite dragon-succubus-chan to that as well, things are looking pretty decent! Edit: I forgot gangly long-necked-chan!
  13. One of my former Darklings?!?! Who -are- you sir!! I miss all of my old Darklings!! Plus -OUR- Racket spilled into the streets of Divinity until the figure head (Matty) was wanted for treason and was to be publicly hung. Pity, they never got me haha I was Breckner! The creepy over-obedient staring shadowy creeper. I remember all that racket as well! By then I was playing as Roark, who was a creep on a whole other level. I loved me my creeps on GW2. Breckner!!! I remember putting a coal in your mouth and you just held it there in an AMAZING manner. You were Matthrians favourite!! Man I missed you! Haha! I remember that! He was an obedient dog to the core. It was fun to play, since his actions were at the whim of another person. It's good to see you on FFXIV

  15. I remember Matthrian from GW2, lol. He ran a racket out in Ebonhawke and my thief was his creepy attack dog. I saw the name when I was at the Grindstone and grinned. Sucks to hear that you're bored though!
  16. This looks interesting, I shall poke for an invite later on!
  17. There were like 'NUOH SILFEE DON'T DO ET. U CAN'T CASTCH THE SNITCH AND RAISE HEEM. U WILL USE UR LIFE FOARCE AND DIE LIKE UR MUM (LOL)." Since she wasn't borrowing from nature, Slyphie was using her own life force to heal -- and since raise was considered a powerful spell, it used quite a lot and the results were not good.
