  1. I glow with love! Osric Melkire is, of course, my One True Kismesis. C'kayah has had other enemies in his past that have made things really fun: Coatleque Crofte Dennthota Ahtahrmwyn L'vi Lyrre Miah Polaali (family make the best enemies!) Natalie Mcbeef, at the beginning Rinh'li Nelhah Surilian Blue
  2. My old picture vanished, so what the hell. Here I am at work.
  3. Tylwyth Narah will try to attend, time permitting. Any day of the week after about 8:00 or 9:00 PM Pacific will work for us. I'll supply a delegate list after the time is locked down. As I pointed out in the interest post, we're going to be coming as representatives of the RP linkshell, not the RP FC: About half of our membership remain in their existing free companies rather than joining our FC.
  4. I'm interested to know this as well, since the Rendezvous of Stars FC is built to support the Rendezvous of Stars LS. (As an RP sub-community, we do not require players to join our FC to participate, but our LS is about 50 members strong. ^^ ) So, even if we were attending as representatives from the Rendezvous FC, we would be speaking on behalf of our LS as well, since that is what encompasses our entire sub-community. Tylwyth Narah is in the same boat. Of course, being criminals, we're just going to show up to speak for the whole damn LS no matter what Mynhier says...
  5. You're welcome to grab mine. I like it because it's got relatively little HTML formatting, which makes it pretty easy to edit.
  6. I'm down for this! I'll second Kyri's suggestion about doing it in forums. If we do it as a single live event, we're limiting who can participate. If we do it as a linkshell with the summit happening over time, we're running into linkshell limitations and also missing out on cross-timezone interaction. Using a forum means people can participate as time permits and have conversations that cross timezones and stretch out over as much time as needed. I'd personally want to keep this separate from a recruitment fair. A summit of FC leaders is clearly focused on promoting cross-FC RP. A recruitment fair, on the other hand, is focused on something else entirely.
  7. C'kayah has a reputation for being a manwhore, but really it's more that he just crushes constantly. Over the years, the really notable ones include: Alyeis Daimeiris Aralyiah Sylnais Aya Foxheart Caelia Isularie F'layshia Friederike Visconti Gwenolie Valeroyant L'vi Lyrre Liana Blu M'ishi Vymendi M'jumalis Yashna M'subi Hena Osric Melkire Pascht Chime Phayte Lior Portia Bartel R'mah Tameo Roswyn Valhuri Rylas Shatterblade Seohyun Iyasu Siha Xinkei Suri Blu Taolene Arkenval Velvet Nystroma Y'vahri Svikhalsma Yloise Dolet Zana Mewrilen
  8. C'kayah was walking. He could feel the rounded cobblestones through the soft, thin soles of his boots. The air still held the chill of the night, but the new sun warmed him as he made his way through the wide square. A tall Hyur woman strode beside him. Aya Foxheart. Supernaturally beautiful, with a dancer's grace, she smiled at everything she saw with a delight that was almost innocent, devoid of guile. Their destination was a squat building, a low block of pale stone with the false windows common in Thanalan's hot climate. The house looked inward, on a shaded courtyard, while the outside turned a near-featureless shoulder to block the blazing sun. The door was a pastel rose slab with a carved handle and a little sliding window at a Hyur's eye level. He knocked on the door, two quick raps, then a pause for five heartbeats, then another two. The window slid opened, revealing a shaded green eye. It snapped shut. There was a pause, then the sound of bolts being drawn. Finally the door opened, admitting them into the cool, dark interior of the house. "Lin is just finishing his bath." The speaker was another Hyur. Shorter than Aya but no less beautiful, the woman smiled at them as she closed and bolted the door. She was dressed in light silks, intricately embroidered and drawn tightly around her lean figure in the latest mode. "I've made coffee, if you'd care to wait." She turned before they could respond, leading them into a lush garden, an atrium of green leaves and brilliant flowers and the hum of bees. A low table stood on flagstones in the center, sitting cushions arranged around it. Sliced tomatoes and cucumbers and yogurt sat in bowls, breakfast for the master of the house. The woman guided them to the table, wordlessly encouraging them to sit while she poured out tiny cups of strong coffee, steaming in the morning air. "Really, C'kayah", a masculine voice called from the shadows. "A beautiful Hyurish assistant? That's so tacky." The speaker was a stocky man, his dark hair clinging in damp curls to his head, his pale skin the inheritance of his midlander mother. He smiled warmly at the Miqo'te as he moved into the light. He was dressed stylishly in dark colors, simple attire that betrayed it's expense with the obvious care of the cut, a rich blue cravat drawing the eye back up towards his face. He moved strangely. Aya watched him as he approached, realizing that one leg was shorter than the other by nearly half a fulm, giving him an odd, limping gait. "Grimsley", C'kayah purred, rising from his cushion to bow at his host. "Sit, sit!" He waved them back down, settling himself at the table and reaching for the coffee. "You're going to make me feel like Jameson Taeros, ridiculous man!" "Lin", C'kayah said, taking his cushion, "this is my friend Aya Foxheart. Aya, this is Lin Grimsley." "They call me 'Grimsley the Lame'", the man chuckled, smiling at her. "You're lovely, aren't you? If you ever get tired of this fickle gigolo..." "It's a pleasure to meet you", she said, turning her bright smile on him. "Ho ho! She's a dangerous one", he laughed, nudging C'kayah with his elbow. "Lin, have you-" "I've outdone myself", the man said with obvious pride. He drew a brooch from his jacket pocket, setting it on the table before them. A dragon's claw, hand-hammered in silver, clutched at a sickly yellow gem. Years of tarnish hung on the thing, which seemed to suck the warmth out of the light that shone on it. It was a singularly ugly piece of jewelry. Dread clutched at Aya's heart as she looked at the thing. It was Dravanian, and clearly ancient. The stone flickered dimly in the light, as if it would glow even in a darkened room. She parted her lips and exhaled. "It's..." "Perfect, I know", the man replied. "You'd never guess from looking at it that it's three days old, would you?" "And the extra-", C'kayah began. "It's trackable", Grimsley added. "Just like you wanted. You'll need a mage to do it, and they'll have to be skilled enough to track someone through aetheryte jumps, but it's trackable." C'kayah picked up the brooch. A heavy pin was brazed to the back, bent as if it had been plucked from a cloak sometime in the last age. As much as Grimsley liked to boast, he did beautiful work. He held it up for Aya to examine, but he could see from the revulsion on her face that it struck the right nerves. "It's perfect", he agreed. "And the rest?" "I'll have Nora leave an address and key with Momodi for you", the counterfeiter replied. "A little apartment. It's yours for the year." "Thank you, Lin", he said, slipping the claw into his pocket. "You paid for it", the man laughed. "What do you think 'extra services' on the invoice was?" "Still", C'kayah grinned, "I appreciate it." "What are friends for", Grimsley replied, sobering. "This is bad business, you know, C'kayah. I hope you know what you're doing." He looked at Aya, meeting her blue eyes for a long moment. "I do, too, Lin", he said. "I do, too."
  9. Y'lani is such a positive and encouraging person, I'm really happy she's such an integral member of this community!
  10. Cleaning, mostly. Though sometimes I work in my underwear. Hey, I work for the most profitable porn company in the history of man, there's gotta be some special perks, right?
  11. As an FC leader I can honestly say the use of a website is for organization purposes. Especially if it's a bigger FC. There's only so much we can cram in the message of the day and being on a site means we can put a calender up for people to check for future events. Sadly you'll be a bit out of luck for a lot of places to join since this is a rather common requirement. Also with Sastra on keeping an eye on this since it's something I might use When it comes to joining a group...Hmmm. Not many things will make me shy away. A big thing might be favoritism towards a member or certain members, especially if its someone who is messing up and not answering for it. It's a requirement that quite frankly, in my opinion needs to go away. I'm all for having to check the website for updates, events etc. Just don't want to have to sign up to apply:) Ahhh that's a bit different then We have an apply section on our FC but usually it's for those who can't catch us online so it's an easier place to go. Same here. We're in a little bit of a special case because we're basically only a RP group, and we solely play villains. Our forums have information about plots in progress, and we keep them private so that folks outside of the group can't see what we're planning. Members who don't register aren't going to be able to see them. Likewise, we have a job board that requires it's own registration (mainly because it uses an external tool), where we keep track of a dozen or so concrete RP hooks at any time, so not registering for that means you can't use that tool. In both of these cases, though, the sites are there as tools to help enable more RP, and they're not strictly required. At the same time, not registering for them does make it harder to find RP.
  12. I am humble creator of said LS, and would be thrilled to rp with you. I have heard good things! Oh, God. Is this another LS I need to join?
  13. I hear you. I want to RP with everyone! Though there are a couple of names that are especially big on my list because I know I'd love RPing with them and yet somehow it has never happened yet: Verad and Val, it's going to happen some day!
  14. Oh, f**k! That sounds amazing! I would so love to go, if only I was in Germany right now. I love Frankfurt!
  15. Oh God. She did it. Rhea - or shall we say, Annatar - crafted the cards as gifts to the races of Eorzea. These she gave out and all who got one squee'd with delight at the skill and artistry she put into them. But these lesser cards were mere essays into the craft. In secret she made another card - a master card - and into this card she poured all her malice and power, forged on the Great Easel and signed by the Producer himself. When she placed this card upon her wall, the skies darkened and all knew they had been deceived. Three cards for Lalafells in their city of sand, Seven for Elezen in their houses of wood, Nine for Miqo'te, ever-roaming people, One for the Dark Lord at her Dark Easel. One card to rule them, One card to find them, One card to bring them all and in the tarot bind them In the land of Rhea, where the shadows lie.
  16. I don't want to sign up, because I'm pretty well situated with gear for my main class, but I do want to say this is a lovely gesture, Ilwe!
  17. I just love DPS that consistently pull aggro from the tank - not occasionally, but consistently. We had a LotA with a dragoon that actually ran in to pull the bosses. Honestly, if the WHM (me) is spending more time healing your DPS than they are healing the tank, you're doing it wrong.
  18. God, these are so beautiful! Nicely done!
  19. I totally endorse this product and/or service!
  20. Nebbs! Welcoming presence in the RPC community since I first started coming here!
  21. Mandisserette - the scent of Duskwight irresistability. Mandissarette is an Oriental-spicy perfume made by certain Duskwight clans in the Black Shroud. Its top notes are a mixture of fruits and spices, with floral middle notes and a woody base in addition to amber and musk. Mantissarine is used in the creation of this perfume, the mildly hallucinogenic properties of this herb giving the perfume an otherworldly effect that is said to make the wearer irresistible to others. Mandisserette is popular with Ul'dahn dancers and courtesans, despite heavy restrictions on it's trade in Thanalan. It is banned in La Noscea on the basis of it's (reported) unusually powerful effect on Roegadyn. The perfume itself is rare, expensive, and difficult to acquire from it's reclusive makers. Due to C'kayah's connections with the Duskwight clans of the Black Shroud, developed over a decade of residence, he is able to acquire this perfume. Mandisserette forms a valuable portion of Tylwyth Narah's smuggling trade.
  22. Two things that come to my mind when I read your initial post (and your clarifications about your discomfort with the idea of minors being sexually active): Kids have sex, and OOC communication is key. I didn't have penis-in-vagina sex until I was 18, mainly because I wasn't ready for it before then. I did do all sorts of other things that were very distinctly sexual when I was younger, and I knew plenty of other people who were far more sexually active than I was as minors. Kids have sex. It happens. Now, I'm not sure where your objection really lies with the idea of minors in sexual situations in RP. If you're uncomfortable with the idea of getting involved in some heavy ERP with someone who's character is underage, the clear solution is to send them a tell saying "Hey, how old is your character?". If you're uncomfortable with the idea of getting into heavy ERP with someone who's player is underage, that's stickier. Perhaps the best solution to that is to not ERP at all. If you're uncomfortable with the idea of other people flirting with underage characters in your presence, the clear solution is to manage your black list, perhaps with a nice atmosphere-building emote: "/em turns away from Humbert and Lolita, his eyes dropping to his ale. Ul'dah was a libertine and libidinous place, something he'd never really been comfortable with."
