The "self-harm" part comes from the time investment required to make that money/do that much SBing for something that doesn't concretely benefit you at all. On a scale of "totally worth it" to "you just wasted your time", it's pretty freakin' close to the latter, and that's on a VIDEO GAME scale. On an absolute (i.e. real-world) scale, it's a complete waste of time (though to be fair, this goes for almost the entirety of the relic weapon questline). If you're happy with it, all the more power to you. I'm not going to encourage anyone to follow in your footsteps, however. What I spend my time doing is my business. What I enjoy is also my business. I happened to enjoy making my gil, SBing when I was doing dungeons, and such. If I saw playing this game as a waste of time, I oddly enough, wouldn't play it. People place different value in different things, I happen to enjoy playing this game more than I would doing "real-world" hobbies. I don't really care what you encourage people to do. I care that you slight people who do it differently from you.

Considering I make the ACC cap for T9 with my crit/det Novus with to my other gear, that's kind of a moot argument as well. Plus, I'm not sure how spending the 4mil~ I made myself on materia and SBing for the rest of it is self-harm. It's virtual currency in a game, and I'm not sure what else I'd do with it, as I have no interest in housing or the other expensive items. I'm happy with my what I put on my bow and it works divinely for my purposes, and if that's "irrational," so be it.

1: I'm not basing my decision off a thread from some person on the toxic waste dump that is the official forums. 2: I didn't mind putting the extra effort in to get the tier IV materia. Some people don't mind doing extra work for something they want. 3: I'm not a min/maxer (very few of us are here, I imagine, or we'd all be fantasia'ing), but I'm making my stats what I want, as are most people who do Novus. That's kind of the point, after all. My main problem with this thread is you're not offering advice, you're telling them they're doing it wrong. You can advise people to do it your way without trying to completely undermine everything that other people do.

There were many-a-art-project started back during the 1.0 to ARR downtime that did not see completion. This was just one of them! Some pretty sketches came out of it though, that's for sure!

It was a quality of life patch. Character Settings -> Control Settings -> Character Tab -> Inventory Interface I missed this. IT IS LIFE CHANGING THANK YOU. (and because this is a screenshot thread, have some daw)

Yep, I think it's just this too. That said, I still refer to the various British dialects spoken in game as, for example, a "Lominsan accent," rather than a British one for RP. I only say this because I've seen it said that a character has a British accent in RP - but there's no Britain in game so it struck me as odd.

It says check in six hours with the first fruit every time. You continue to feed until you get the "growing new feathers!" message, and that indicates a color change. If you use the chart above, it will give you an idea of where you can go with it. Leave your chocobo stabled for 6 hours, and then check him and it will have a short cutscene showing the new color.

If they didn't call him Thancred then it might be one of the few times you could say, 'Oh that's m' kid' and get away with it! Oh yes, I don't mind using my imagination

I think I'd only take issue if someone had a mini-thancred following them around ICly... or a demon brick... So yea, I think minions are perfectly fine RP with, within reason, myself!

I'm really surprised there aren't more of these! Selene and I did a bit of long-winded storyish RP around going to the battle of Carteneau when the game went down, and then each wrote our own stories for the follow-up when the characters were separated. So, for those who'd want to read it: The RP, Aysun's story, Selene's story!

Guys, I know you're all trying to just make light of things, but the manner in which you're doing it is kind of ehhhh... The OP is airing her grievance, opted to edit her posts on your request (finally), and does have a good point as far as people being possibly discriminatory against an RP style (cuz dat ain't cool). Should just offer your advice or opinion if you have some and leave it at that rather than further derail her thread. Honestly, the whole 'combat RPer' distinction I think is unnecessary. Without seeing logs, I can't say who I would think is in the right or wrong in your situation.
