What scares you away from a FC/Guild?
Aysun replied to Branson Thorne's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
If... -3/4ths of members are Miqo'te (Yea, I went there ). -There is an obvious core clique/voice chat clique -Members never leave their FC house. -MIA leaders. -Inactive IC channel (Linkpearl, etc)/all RP set up OOCly rather than organically -They have a website that is unused/inactive/not updated -It's nothing but big plot; I need social RP I'm usually turned off. -
Which means that they couldn't just magically fix it, is my point!

Not Another Art Thread ((Commissions on hold))
Aysun replied to SessionZero's topic in Artisan House
Eee. Love the style! :3 (And I'm an uberfan of pencil) -
Calling bullshit simply because there's nothing wrong with being proud of achieving something that took over a year to see through. Bragging is one thing, being proud of your accomplishment is another. Calling bullshit myself on most of that post simply because of how it's worded. By being so hostile to perceived elitism (or real elitism, because yea it's a thing), you too become an asshole.

Always wondered, does casting "Cure" enough times remove them? Obviously not, or there wouldn't be people weeping outside the Conjurer's guild. I imagine even with magical healing methods, diseases are still a really real problem in Eorzea.

This is amazing. Tempting but being good aligned and all.. Especially like the slang. Awesome touch.

About the Garlean invasion of the Black Shroud in 1.0...
Aysun replied to Cassandra Lachance's topic in RP Discussion
One thing to note is that in 1.0 we had them attacking at all the city state territories, not just the Shroud. Also the only Castrum erected in 1.0 was in Mor Dhona. Castrum Novum. -
Oh why not \o/ I'm a big fangirl over Aysun's relationship, even if it looks a little odd to some! Fenix joined the mercenary group Aysun was a member of early on after launch. Aysun was incredibly mentally and physically unwell at that time, and he saw that and sought to help her. He saw things he had been through in her. They became friends, finding each other easy to talk to. Several scenes come to mind when they bonded as friends. Sitting and talking overlooking the Sil'dih ruins, they compared scars. They went for drinks, she drunkenly called him "Felix" and he convinced her that was his name and she'd been messing it up until then. They hunted someone who'd tried to harm her. When Fenix's home was vandalized and burnt to the ground by that very person, they picked up and decided to roam. They lived together, camping at various sites around Eorzea as friends for several moons. He fell for her, and while she denied her feelings for a little while, she eventually relented. The rest is history, as they say. They've been together for over a year now. They have chemistry and a deep level of acceptance for and understanding of each other that keeps their relationship strong.

Taylor Momsen is close, I'm told.

While I'm not sure what western continent someone said they're from (source please?) is called if it exists any longer, ancestors of the Miqo'te arrived in Eorzea after crossing frozen seas in search of food in the 5th Umbral Era. Quite awhile ago (between 4000 and 1500 years ago)! Yugiri used the Miqo'te animations due to her race not being implemented into the game yet. I am pretty sure that those will update as soon as they are implemented. It's very relevant that the Keepers ended up in the Shroud, to me and hopefully to you as a player if you decide to play a Keeper. That is where your racial lore is found. Not Doma. While we don't know the racial make up of Doma today (other than 'all dead or gone' because you know, Doma's obliterated), black hair and dark eyed Hyurs seem to be the staple judging by the refugees. And there is a lot of gender discrimination in Keeper society, just not against females as you are used to in the real world. The males are so undervalued that they don't even get their own names and are NUMBERED by birth order, for crying out loud. They're pretty well forced out of main Keeper society, wandering, coming back to breed. Linguistically we've seen that Domans follow a Japanese forename and English surname type style (the latter I can't confirm, but remember reading it, so it may be incorrect). They obviously have a native tongue that is Japanese, as they talk about it in the Ninja storyline. Keeper naming conventions don't remotely resemble that either. I would agree with the others in saying they are more African or Middle Eastern in nature.

I commissioned SoraNamae awhile back. He came up with the pose and everything after seeing a screenshot I sent him of Aysun looking over at her bluebird. I think it's very pretty! Heads up, he has a lot of NSFW images in the gallery (my commission is not even posted, not sure why \o/). http://soranamae.deviantart.com/

Murders (though she'd call them justified - which kind of makes it worse because they really aren't). Prostitution (though that doesn't seem to be much of a sin in Eorzea sometimes). Theft (out of necessity, sorta). And daaamn gurl can be a hypocrite/liar.

On that note, I've noticed that they NPCs showing up only appear on your screen. I was standing there with a friend and he was commenting how one of them were there, but they didn't show up on my screen. No one at all! I imagine this is so that people don't downright swarm the NPC when they want to play triple triad. >>;

The Vent Tent - Poor PuGs and Other Terrible Tales
Aysun replied to Gegenji's topic in FFXIV Discussion
It is NOT shit! /rant As a healer, I want to just not heal any tank who doesn't understand that Flash is an important part of crowd control. -
The calendar seems to operate in a different default timezone than your current settings. It bugs the crap outta me. >> GL with the event!

Considering I just dropped 11m into a small plot in the Goblet, which I managed to get from a friend, I support this post...

In response to people taking Primal fights ICly...
Aysun replied to Ghostinthecat's topic in RP Discussion
The Path of the Twelve was the precursor to the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. Minfilia headed it and sought out those with the Echo to be part of it. There's a lot of 'em. The difference with ARR is that they took it to a more snowflake, 1-player game level with the adventurer with the Echo becoming THE Warrior of Light with Hydaelyn's blessing and such! -

1. That's your choice. I don't seek out people who RP the MSQ either, but I don't tell them they're a cancer. 2. All of the lights swarming around the mothercrystal are people who Hydaelyn called upon to do her work of finding those crystals. The MSQ WoL just happens to be the one who is followed and succeeds. 3. Correct, having the Echo is independent of being a WoL. However: that video was shown at the end of 1.0. It was our closure. The derplander and his party were substitutes for our characters. Every legacy player character from 1.0 was canonically on that battlefield and became a Warrior of Light. Not everyone chose that fate for their character, however. -

*Waits for someone to make that claim and force it down people's throats, which probably should be required for such a rant to be needed.* Blue RPs the MSQ, and even s/he is not saying she forces her canon on anyone, rather that they accept people who want to do it as well. -

I think that the events in question aren't advertised like a gladiator fight would be ICly, only OOCly to get people to join... -

You can also play a character who is interesting and compelling, is not the hero, but has the Echo, as an adventurer. -

I'm pretty sure the MSQ leaves open how many times the Primals have been summoned. They leave it vague. It's completely possible that they're still being summoned outside the MSQ-bubble. -
Syldra's Revenge - For Those About To ROCK! IC Primal Fight - Titan
Aysun replied to Dogberry's topic in Chronicled Events
Actually, I used the intro to Ul'dah in open beta to establish my character's background. Turns out it was Echo, so rather than retcon, I let her have the Echo - since it was not all that uncommon for adventurers to be touched by it to begin with. You assume that due to this I am playing her off as the MSQ character (in 1.0 or ARR), however, and that is flawed of course! She is by no means that character. I went as far as letting her be contacted by Minfilia in 1.0, having the Echo explained to her, and she bailed. Wanted nothing to do with any of it. My primal encounters in 1.0 were all IC with fellow RPers, not storyline-related. That, and she hates that she has the Echo. She doesn't talk about it. She doesn't acknowledge it unless she has to. She certainly doesn't go around telling people she took down Ifrit years ago. You know what they say about assuming.. -

While I'm of the opinion that normal people should not be fighting primals due to tempering risk (and that there's no way to avoid it other than the Echo - the Company of Heroes who defeated Titan without the Echo lost a lot of people to tempering iirc) - this is flat out silly. No one is forcing you to acknowledge it or RP it, so there's really no reason to get all huffy. I learned that awhile back myself, which is why I've simply stopped telling people my opinions on lore. I RP what I want to RP and that's all! People will RP what and how they want, people will all have different interpretations of the lore, and most of all, you have that same right. So take your interpretations and make your own story! That's what everyone is doing.
