I'll just dump a bunch of resources here. There was recently a discussion about this on tumblr. Here's a bunch of lore provided by Sounsyy (@mirkemenagerie) in response to speculation by another person. Also a link to her Ala Mhigo lore compilation. I feel so out of place here. I LOVE the fact that there are certain things race locked. I feel that it keeps the races in game distinct, and unique. I love that only Seekers get slitted pupils, that the color palettes are different depending on your clan, that certain hairstyles are racially unique, etc... Otherwise we'd all just be a hodgepodge mess of traits with no racial/clan identities anymore! /unpopular opinion

If she's drinking because she's miserable or to avoid problems, she's melancholy and quick to anger, and prone to drink to the point of black out. If it's for other reasons, she can be "silly" and the minimal self-control she has with her partner is uh, gone. The brain-to-mouth filter Aysun has (yes there is a small one) goes out the window in either case. One of the funnest things for me to play is that she rolls her R's occasionally when she is drunk. And she is completely oblivious to it. It's a silly 'tell.'

This is cute. Do you have it set up so they may appear upside down?

Please see the Encyclopædia Eorzea bug thread on the official forums, too. There are some inconsistencies to be aware of before anyone treats the lore book like a bible. One of the greatest things about this book is it's written in almost an in-character perspective.

I was using it constantly because it was new and shiny for like, a day. Now I just use it when I'm IC or wanting to RP, so it's helpful. :3

They are. Mog Houses in FFXI were just single-use rooms that allowed you to garden and display indoor furniture. Nah, this is different because Mog Houses were free, and given to all players. That said, you couldn't invite friends into your Mog House iirc. And decorating was muuuch more limited. So I don't think people would be happy with Mog Houses in XIV either!

soon™ Had to get a project or two out of the way and was out on vacation for a bit, but I'm back at it! I can just feel the heavy breathing of all the anticipation.

I avoid them. To each their own, but I don't want to interact with them. My view is: I understand when RPers are just getting their feet wet it's common to RP an established character, but NPCs are not yours to play in the open world. Those are SE's characters. I'd prefer people who do it to keep their RP in their established circles (aka their own separate continuity) or just write fanfiction. Again, just opinion.

I used to journal a crapton on my LS forum and lodestone, but moved it all over to Wordpress before 2.0 launched for safe keeping. It's just easier for me. People use forums, lodestone, tumblr, wordpress, all sorts! I mostly enjoy reading those of people I know.

Got ticket! Going solo to Fanfest though, hoping to meet many peoples from here! I'm flying with a co-worker who's meeting a friend for Vegas fun stuff, so I'm staying with them at her friend's timeshare type thing. We're flying in on Wednesday, leaving Sunday. So.. White/Pink generally is on sale/cheaper than the black versions. The volume control is inline for mic and audio and there's also a simply mute thingy. :3

I was forbidden by my IRL ex-husband from having IC romantic relationships for a long time, so I utilized Aysun's history to explain why she was uninterested and broken when it came to romance. So she was single for a long time in 1.0. Shortly after launch of ARR I met who would eventually become her fiancee by chance. Aysun developed friendship with this character, and we RP'd a lot. He helped her extensively, accepted her fully, and eventually developed feelings for her over the course of several months. My IRL relationship was in its death throes, so an IC romantic relationship was allowed to develop. I like slow and natural. None of it was planned or arranged OOCly, though we had open OOC communication so we became friends as well. Our RP styles just meshed, and our characters meshed (and met at a good time IC and OOC), so it worked. I am a major sucker for the initial courting/developing feelings - that's easily my favorite part of any romantic RP. Figuring each other's quirks out, learning to read each other and such is also great fun. I was worried about things becoming stagnant, what with it being a "good" relationship and all IC, but it hasn't been. We haven't had to create artificial drama to make it interesting. The character development has been interesting on its own! Two years later they as a couple have been through a lot together, and it's been a great time.
