Multiclassing IC or: How I Avoided Becoming God
Aya replied to ZindelloTarantella's topic in RP Discussion
Aya's multi-classed: Dancer/Barmaid. I find this difficult to work into RP, but generally most people are accepting :-] There! I contributed -
Isn't the uniform like the first requirement of a Sultan Sworn? Requirement #1: Have Uniform (and keep it snazzy) Requirement #2: Sort of care about the Sultana and stuff Requirement #3: See Requirement #1

Tiergan's Thread of Shameless Self-Promotion [No Commissions. Apologies.]
Aya replied to Tiergan's topic in Artisan House
*rolls around with pure amusement* -
That does sound terrible. I never join raid groups (in any game) with a strict guild requirement, and never shall. I'm glad that I have no interest in doing so for FF, my "nonsense" FC is mine, and shall stay that way :-] When I join a raid group, you earn my "raiding energy", that's it. If you expect more, you can find someone else.

Aya smiled brightly as she watched the paladin rise, and prepare to join her. Any sense of apprehension on Coatleque's part seemed to wash right over her as she opened the door to Pearl Lane and walked through, setting a leisureful pace as her heels met the paving stones of the ally that wound its way along the city's main market. Ul'dah was host to countless people, of every type, complexion, and race. Still, the sight of two such tall, lovely, and unusual women walking together would serve enough to turn heads in every quarter. Both tall and beautiful, one blonde, bright-eyed, vivacious, and full of a sensual energy, the other red haired, stunning, and possessed of an almost ethereal calm and authority. Just where could they be off to? Aya smiled to Ser Crofte walking beside her, "It must be nice to have a little time off, hmmm? I thought we'd steer a little away from the markets, its so loud there!"
-
Aya gave a little wave of her hand, bending it down at the wrist as she rests her elbow on the table. "Oh I'm sure Verad is just fine!" She grins and stands, "Of course! I mean.. we could have tea here, but its just a perfect day to get out isn't it? I was thinking we could take a nice walk through Ul'dah, and settle down for some tea at a little cafe I know." She motioned toward the Pearl Lane exit, before taking a moment to adjust her skirt and blouse.

Aya listens, nodding with a broad smile in definitive agreement with the hope of an uninterrupted day! "All the way to Ala Mhigo?" She asks, cupping her chin in her hand, elbow resting on the table. "That sounds like quite the journey...! I can only imagine the marvels they must tell about!" She lets out a wistful little sigh, the merest hint of nostalgia for the women's shared ancestral homeland. "Tarrot, hmm? You must mean Mr. Crooked?" she grins, with a soft giggle. "~ I suppose if you had bought it from Verad it should be filled with the wrong pages! So Mr. Crooked was probably the better choice. He certainly seems to have made a lot of friends quickly! "[/]

Aya grinned with that bright, cheerful grin of hers, exuding both warmth and delight. "I'm so glad!" she canted her head, "I was worried some important duty might have summoned you up, and sped you away from a pleasant day! Its about time you got to enjoy one, hmmm?" She nodded as if to affirm her own question, while sliding around the table, and swinging her hips into the chair opposite of Coatleque. "Enjoying the book? I hope you weren't waiting too long!"

Aya turned this way and that before the mirror, in her little inn room tucked away on the lower floor of the south side of the Quick Sand. It was already growing warm with the heat of the sun, but she was persistent in attending to the final touches. It wasn't a date, no, just a little fun with a friend she so rarely got to sit down and just chat with, but she figured a girl should always look her best. She turned around again, checking her mirrored reflection from every angle. She wasn't going to work, so she didn't -quite- want the barmaid look. The flowing Ul'dahn style, open-chested blouse seemed to suit her just fine, especially when paired with a black mini-skirt, and the dangerous heels she so adored. She leaned her head back and forth for a moment, double checking the half-dozen stud earrings in each ear, ensuring that their colors matched from side-to-side; larger silver earrings dangled from her lobes--a gift from a friend, and ones she adored showing off. She grinned to herself, adding a little bounce of anticipation for the afternoon fun she was looking forward to. After slipping out her door, she moved into the cooler hallway, making her way along the tunnel-like route to the Quick Sand itself, and the large atrium-like center of the tavern. She smiled, eyes scanning around looking for the tall, red-headed highlander woman, "Ser Crofte!" she exclaimed with a brightness of energy. "Its so good to see you!" She was ten minutes late~

Time to work on a new glamour huh? :-]

Just keep looking Make sure to keep an eye out for people with "RP" in their FC names, and you can also inspect people to look at their search info. Most RPers welcome walk-up RP, though I realize that some shyness can make that difficult, just keep your eye open and be a little bold I have never seen as much random RP in any gaming community that I have ever been a part of than I see on Balmung.

Nuh uuuuh! Don't mess with Ul'dah!
-
Oooooh! Don't be so swift to try and toss away a wonderful source of IC tension and misunderstanding. If you can look aside that OOCly, and realize that its not you the player people are reacting to, it can make for all sorts of interesting role-play. Just imagine how those sort of reactions have shaped the life and attitude of your character?
-
Huh. I never really thought about things in these terms before.

Misdirection Cast: Instant Recast: 300s Range: Visual Radius: All targets within visual range. Stares wide-eyed, bats eyelashes, or otherwise appears with a complete mixture of bewilderment and ditziness. Resets all accumulated threat and suspicion. Coy Conversation Cast: 10s Recast: 10s Range: Conversation Only Show intense interest in the target of this ability, smiling and asking questions excitedly, while the caster only provides coy, superficial answers. After casting time is complete caster learns everything of interest (below the level of "secret") about all targets. Distract Cast: Immediate Recast: 60s Range: Visual A gesture ranging from to subtle to audacious (movement of the hips, accidental collision, leaning over a table, bursting into dance) draws the attention of all targets within line of sight. Level of effect varies greatly depending upon target characteristics (some may glance momentarily before rolling eyes in disgust, others may be drawn unwittingly from outside visual range). Duration of effect increased for casters possessing the Gag Boobs trait.

Oooooooh Ruru's GOON SQUAD! I like this :-]

Fortunately, you've really got a wonderful assortment of criminal RPers on Balmung with whom to work :-] I think something to keep in mind is that any such scene is not a contest, and it adversarial only in the IC sense. Neither party is actually trying to win, if the criminal escapes the LE player has not lost, if the criminal is caught, the criminal player has not lost. The goal of the interaction is the scene itself, and the RP that develops from it: its a cooperative effort between both players. I think when you start from that point of view you'll have an easier time dealing with people who spurn your authority

OH LET IT BE TRUE!

Noooooooo! Now I can't mis-click when I am trying to look at the forum :-] The only "regularly updated" that I need from this site, is the user content
-
It is super fast now! I don't miss the splash screen, this way I don't find myself "misclicking" and ending up on a page different than the one I wanted to see (main page of the forums) Thank you so much guys!!

Pirates! OMG ITS PIRATES! I'd love to have Aya show up, but the pirates will probably scare her away ; They are, after all... why she moved the desert instead of Limsa in the first place! Maybe I'll find a way to drag her there though!

More Fireworks! This is quickly becoming Aya's favorite holiday!

You say this like "being in trouble" isn't Kage and Nat's raison d'etre... -
balmung LF RP With Consequences - Character Development
Aya replied to Unnamed Mercenary's topic in Chronicled Connections
Aya could be of quite a bit of use in a story like that... but I kind of like her thinking about him as a bum :-] -
The character creation lock is dynamic, when the server has too many players on it, then creation is disabled. From what I understand at those hours the server often pops open for character creation, but it can still take some patience. Maybe someone who's done it more recently can chime in and comment? ^^
