These look really good!

While I fully support this and would love to attend, Alexander is on the brink of making some very poor life choices so I'll have to wait until things...settle.

This really got me when they declared the end of the Umbral Era. I remember talking to some people after that and was like, "So that's it? Three leaders from one continent say its over and that's it? Nothing to do with the worlds aether, nothing to do with anything just, "Hey, was won this big military victory, Umbral Eras over everyone!" I feel like maaaaaybe SE kind of jumped the gun on that, like you said very "Mission Accomplished" feel to it.

To those who attended Dogberry's party yesterday...
Stormwind replied to Brynhilde's topic in Chronicled Events
Rhi and I had a wonderful time. Thanks to Xene and Bryn for setting up such a great event for Dogberry, and for the rest of Aeon for being great company. I'm sorry again for our net trouble halfway through. Someone at Comcast will burn, I assure you. We will never speak of the time Alexander had to stand on his head and take a shot though. Never. :bomb: :cactuar: Thank again! -
I've been doing other work but since Bryn wanted a little more fire for the thread, I figured I'd add my own. I owe Bryn two now, and while normally I'm a person who values quality over quantity, seeing as how Bryn is with Dogberry we know quality isn't an issue. Honestly though, Bryn and I have had very few interactions, but they have always been good. The title "Penitent" makes me think that she has a great character concept, or is trying to slyly mask just how much time her character spends on her knees. I imagine her character has a great deal of depth and experience, but you'd have to ask Dogberry more about that. Truly though, as much as I liked Menelberry, I know Dog is enjoying himself so I hope this one works out better. Worse case scenario he can always endear himself to her Ala Mhigan instincts in the tried and true method. Tell her what she wants to hear and then upend her rule and annex her country. She'll love you for it Dogberry.

Being able to RP with Kage was something I've been looking forward to. He was one of the first names I saw regularly when I first joined the RPC and even though we've only RP'd a handful of times I've had a lot of fun each time. If I'm lucky, I'll only have to bury one main character.

Dogberry, those who know you know that you are really an unsavory scoundrel with penchant for getting yourself into as much drama as possible. Between that and your love of large ladies, you're a walking relationship disaster waiting to happen. I expect the invites to the wedding between you and Crofte before the end of the year.

Warren is a nice guy. No other person I have ever met doesn't have a high horse to get on. No, Warren has his fucking rock.

I think the problem with Steps of Faith, and this is just in my opinion, came down to SE's design decisions. They have thrown tank and spank trials at us for over a year that could be outgeared and bulldozed and now finally they throw something at the community that can't be pile-drived and everyone loses their minds. As a rule, I expect the lowest common denominator out of pugs because that is the group SE has catered their trial roulette content to. The lowest common denominator, especially among DPS in my experience is "burn", "The healer will cover for me", and "Mechanics are a class in 3.0".

Order of the Raven's Eye - Allagan Ruin Expedition
Stormwind replied to Dogberry's topic in Chronicled Events
Wait... Tom has a brother? I thought he was an only child? And where can this guinea pi- ...er... brother be found? I have no idea is he has a brother. Hopefully not, for my heart can only take so much pain. Speaking of pain, it seems that I will available today after all. I hope you still have room! We have room for everyone! -
((A lead in before the Allagan Ruins event here)) Worth the Cost The Thanalan sun sat high overhead, baking anything that would dare to sit under it for too long. The air rang with the sound of pickaxe against stone, shovels moving aside dirt and rock, men and woman toiling in the hot sun either grunting from their physical exertion or talking to try to forget their fatigue. The flaps to a nearby tent pulled to the side and Alexander stepped out to survey the fruits of his labors. The months of searching, of wracking his brain over every small scrap of information he could find. Months of coordinating his information gathering attacks on the primals. Even the creation of the TIC-TAC, a functioning albeit temporary and experimental anti-tempering device, were all pieces of a grander plan that would hopefully start to come to completion here. The ruins would hopefully expose tech and information yet untouched since the fall of the Allag so long ago, and in doing so, validate his theories and work. His calm was broken by the sound of the foreman stepping out behind him, parchment in hand with a list of the losses they had accrued the previous day. "Three more workers, and another camp guard." Alexander sighed, looking up from the parchment out over the miners who were working hard to bring his dream to a reality, "It's so hard to find good help these days." he muttered, "Do these people think that their replacements are just growing on trees?" The ruins were, not surprisingly, trapped. He had to raise wages once already when the miners threatened to walk off after the first dozen of them had died, and then hire a group of mercenaries to deal with the traps. "What happened to giving your life in the name of progress?" he sighed heavily. It reminded him of that boy from the Ifrit excursion. Unwitting though he was, the boy's tempering and subsequent death would go on to save more lives than he probably could have as a healer. He would have a statue by the time Alexander was done. He signed the bottom then handed the parchment back to the foreman. The cost was worth it, the lives would be worth it. Everything that would come out of the ground here was going to be his and there were more than a few Academies and research institutions that would pay for what they were going to pull up here, never mind the governments of the Alliance themselves. This might finally get the Malestrom out of his business so he could have his pirate captain back. Pulling out his chronometer he checked the time now, thinking about how long ago he had sent Rhianna to bring the others here. He expected Dogberry would have pulled from his extensive list of contacts to bring in competent individuals to survive what laid ahead; the Captain had not failed him before and Alexander did not expect he would now. He stuffed the timepiece back into its place and looked out over the dust and rock. It was here that everything would come together. It was here that the Little Ala Mhigo Project would find its lynch-pin.

First coil turns, outside of turn 5 can be generally face rolled. Turn 4 is a popular place to farm light during the relic grind. Given ilvls and echo buffs, plus that Dogberry and I are raiders, we feel comfortable taking people through the first four turns. -

There will be role play done in, out and throughout the course of our adventure. As for T2, unless our DPS is severely lacking we'll likely kill all 8 ADS along the way then kill the last one at the bottom. That way the final ADS, while extremely buffed, only has one or two mechanics. Everyone can come, the more the merrier. This is all about having fun. If we need to do multiple runs, fine. Dogberry and myself are not in the business of limiting how many people show up to our events just because of party size. -
The power-hungry mage searching for answers. My favorite JRPG character of all time being Magus from Chrono Trigger, having alot to do with this I imagine.

Flames loyal to the Flame General have every reason to stick together. There are a lot of forces plotting against him, so he'll need all the allies he can have on the outside. -

While I'm not sure if criminal work within the city walls would fall under him, certainly any kind of activity outside of Ul'dah in her settlements could. We can make anything work -

Absolutely! Quicksand is the best place to get something to eat before heading back to the barracks after all.
