  1. I have a couple favorites, ranging from heavy to the classics. This is mostly because my father loves the entire Christmas season so I heard Christmas music from Thanksgiving onward. Carol of the Bells is my favorite classic song, but I love rock riffs of it. NUId5f1-KbE The Carpenters Christmas album (on vinyl no less) was what my father would play when he let us downstairs on Christmas day as children. NxuQx7eoEI8 Franky always hits me right in the feels for Christmas too. nZ6yQgBvuoI
  2. The relic grind. All my seething hatred. I feel the bile in the pit of my stomach boiling up just writing this out. Uncontrollable, blinding hate.
  3. Merri and I both RP characters with magitek limbs. In his case, he's an ex-Garlean engineer. In mine, Stormwind, a magitek engineer and allagan researcher worked with Rhianna, a bonafide doctor, worked together to create just the prototype. In both cases they were lengthy, largely experimental processes. There really isn't a clinic or anything like that where you'd go to get an arm or a leg fitted. In Dogberry's case, he happened to know the right people, and was willing to pay a price well beyond any monetary value to get them. I don't ask much, just use of your body as a guinea pig and loyalty that may lead you to mutually-assured destruction, but I stand by my work and guarantee it 100% *unfurls contract and summons a pen, cartoon devil style* Just sign the dotted line.
  4. Alexander Stormwind Theme in_A1PL0VnU Stage Description- His laboratory and workshop, this is a stage with hazards. Fighters would be able to grab allagan tech or other experiments and turn them on their opponents to keep them at bay, or help stun them. Moveset Description- Alexander is a magic-user and therefore prefers to keep his distance and attack with magic. Its best to keep him away from opponents during solo fights, and is a very strong tag-in during multiple fights as a way to give a teammate some breathing room or to stun the opponent for a combo initiation. Special Moves (Limit Breaks)- Flare: Unleashes a large explosion of energy on the target doing multiple hits. Starstorm: Alexander calls down a shower of celestial rocks that hurls towards the opponent. Call of the Void (Ultimate)- Alexander opens a portal to the void, granting him more power. He then unleashes a barrage of magical power at his opponent including fire, ice and lightning before dropping a ball of void energy on top of them. Nemesis: None (at the moment) Intro Quotes: General 1: Attacking someone of my power wouldn't be considered wise. General 2: You are either incredibly brave, or extremely stupid. Probably the latter. General 3: Walk away and save me the trouble. Against Dogberry: So it's come to this has it? Your services are not longer required then Mirror Match: What manner of trickery is this!? Win Quotes: General 1: Next time, respect your betters. General 2: Weak. General 3: You are nothing next to me. Against Dogberry: You were clearly rabid, I simply put you down. Mirror Match: Nothing compares to the real thing. Lose Quotes: General 1: I seem to have...miscalculated. General 2: Clearly, I am having an off day. General 3: Finish your gloating and be off with you. Against Dogberry: It seems I grossly underestimated you. Mirror Match: I am my own worst enemy.
  5. Just got this game over the weekend. Think I've already dropped twenty hours into it and have been really good at avoiding spoilers since it came out. Probably going to romance Josephine. There is something about that woman, I think its the accent.
  6. Alexander strolled the streets of the marketplace, glancing over the wears that were on display for the day. Often it was nothing but junk and commoner trash, but occasionally someone sold something looking to make a quick few coins having no idea of the items real value. This practice also got him out of his laboratory, which also kept Rhianna off of his back about not getting out enough. As he glanced over one stall, he happened to overhear a few people discussing something about a sultansworn and if they thought the story was true. He lifted his head in time to notice one of them tossing a leaflet onto the ground as they continued on their way, and he thrust his staff out to catch the paper before the wind could carry it off. Reading it carefully, he found the contents both hyperbolic in nature and clearly an amateur smear job, at best. He mused that only a fool would be take in by something so childish, and then he looked around remembering where he was. He folded up the piece of paper, and tucked it into his robes. It was unseemly and a mockery of print to have such trash rolling about anyway.
  7. Lust vs Chasity 3 Alexander has an insatiable lust for power. Personal, aetherial, mental, social, you name it. While his sexual drive is completely non-existent, he always wants and craves more power. Gluttony vs Temperance 7 With age comes wisdom, and the wisdom to know when to hold back. Alexander knows that only those with control can hold the power he wants. He willing to hold back long enough to obtain his goals before he lets loose. Greed vs Charity 4 Alexander isn't a greedy man, not from a material standpoint nor is he a charitable one either. He is a man of means and has little need for more material wealth, but it doesn't stop him from making sure his wealth does not diminish. Sloth vs Diligence 9 Alexander will not give up his ambition, likely to the point that it will kill him. He can be up countless hours, even days working on a problem or aetherical mystery, barely stopping to sleep or eat. Wrath vs Patience 4 A bomb waiting to go off, often kept in check by his own temperance. Alexander often bottles his anger up, focusing on his work to ignore whatever may be bothering him. when he does lash out though, it is often with yelling and fire. Envy vs Kindness 5 Alexander isn't an unkind person, but often he simply doesn't care enough about those around him to show it. He took a Roegydyn refugee boy he found as an adopted "son", and houses two other refugees, both of whom he regards as family (even if he won't openly admit it). Pride vs Humility 1 This is the kicker. Alexander is a proud man. Proud to a fault. Pride in his personal history, pride in his power and his accomplishments. Hurting Alexanders pride is the quickest way to goad him into a confrontation, and that pride combined with his lust for power is a recipe for disaster. Does your character lean more towards the Sins or the Virtues? Sins Which Sin does your character most emulate? Pride Which Virtue does your character most emulate? Diligence. Which of these Sins or Virtues do you and/or your character believe they need to work on the most? Humility. Alexanders' pride and ambition are likely to be the death of him if he does not get them under control.
  8. My happy dance for the coil nerfs. The club couldn't handle me.
  9. Nothing going on but the rent...while robbing banks and planning a prison break with our crew.
  10. Gunners could easily become some kind of healer. A ranged gunner class (Imperial Agent) was one of the healers in SWTOR (Operative), using a variety of gadgets and "healing bombs". I can certainly see a healer class much like alchemist that uses potions and such to heal their party. Edit: In other news DRK HYPE! *flails until he can't flails no more and falls over*
  11. Is...is that a new Emperor?! Sweet!
  12. ULTROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS! "Yaaaouch! Seafood soup!"
  13. More research for things that certainly can't have nefarious ends or provide bodies for research! It's like Christmas!
  14. Alexander is very publicly wealthy, just not a very public person. His clothes however are tailored and even modified to enhance his aetheric ability. I wear the allagan set OOCly but ICly they are clothes of his own design that he had tailored and modified.
  15. This is a great idea, I never actually thought about this. Still working on that large Goblet manor OOCly too so I might have to borrow this Haukke idea.
  16. Alexander is rather wealthy. He deals in a great deal of "confiscated" magitek and allagan relics (legal or otherwise) for his research. He uses his money mostly to afford him privacy and a level of influence in Ul'dah, and to keep more "upright" individuals or groups out of his affairs.
  17. I have to assume this is after his flip to babyface, right? Edit: a word
  18. Peter Capaldi as Cardinal Richelieu from BBC's "Musketeers"
  19. Ok, all cards on the table, this is all OOC info. As far as people go, Alexander is probably more villian then he is hero. A researcher with zero morale compass he cares more about results then the steps taken to get there. I haven't been active since that day many months ago, but for those of you that went on Dogberry's attack on Ifrit, that collar didn't break, it was rigged. Alexander didn't care WHO got it, so long as he had a body to study on the effects of aether manipulation and tempering after the fact. Tom was simply the unlucky party. I still need to post that story one day. People are tools to be used. A large amount of Alexander research material is black-market, smuggled, or stolen. He doesn't know or care for the details so long as he gets it. Alexander is working on a project to harness the primals in much the same way as the allagans and weaponize it, thus his deep research into technology. I haven't worked out the entire endgame yet, but I jokingly refer to the whole thing as "The Little Ala Mhigo Project", draw your own conclusions from there.
  20. If you know anyone like this the "Alexander Stormwind is broke as %@#$" fund is open and accepting donations. Just saying.
  21. Unfortunately my folks have scheduled a cook-out for tomorrow at 3pm so Rhi and I will not be in attendance. Dogberry knows what to get Storm in the meantime.
  22. Took a little bit of work to figure this out. Alexander isn't what one would call an upstanding person but that isn't to say he doesn't have his good parts, they are simply obscured. Fortitude- Alexander is nothing if not steadfast in his goals. Many a sleepless night have been spent pondering the mysteries of aether and magic all with his own goals in mind. When Dogberry lost his legs, Alexander worked tirelessly to get one of his greatest resources back on his feet, mentally exhausting himself in the process. When Alexander Stormwind gets something in his mind, good luck getting him off of it. Pride- Alexander is a proud man. Proud of his abilities and proud of his heritage. He will exert his will over people if he can simply because it expands his power base and has no problem using and discarding people as he feels is his right. To him, everyone is a tool, fit to be used until discarded.
  23. To me, it really matters on how the person plays the character and how their back story is set-up. I have two young characters that I play, one a monk and the other a Paladin, both are in their early to mid twenties and both are still very new at their professions (despite the monk being level 50). Alexander on the other hand is in his mid to late 50's approaching 60. He has spent his entire life studying magic and the aether so his mastery of black magic (thaumatergy), has branched into other areas of study, namely conjuring and more recently the aetherial manipulation that arcanists use. These came fluidly, in my opinion, as he branched out, studied and gained more knowledge about magic, the aether and its uses thus why I consider him an archmage. Again, this is a lifetime of study and research he has put into these things. Now Alexander is in no way a physical fighter, he has no real martial skills to speak of, so I consider that the counter-balance.
  24. When I get a chance, I'll be in touch in-game. Alexander does a great deal of buying and selling of special items and is always looking to add more people to move items through.
