  1. MMOs as they were will go the way of the dodo. The technological marvel that is everyone playing at the same time just isn't the same as, say, 15 years ago, and paying for the privilege is starting to grate on people's nerves enough that they expect much more than a simple connection to a server with peoples. My personal gripe has more to do with their implementation of shit than their general design. Anyway I hope the Diadem revamps are what it was cracked up to be in the first place. I get a Hunt vibe from that place. As in, the first implementation was so bad people were complaining incessantly about it, and that forced them to declare oopsie and try to salvage something livable out of it. MAYBE THEY'LL DO THE SAME FOR THE 4 SPECIALIZATIONS THAT AREN'T NECESSARY FOR RELIC?!?!?!?!? (Also, we should be reminded that SE is also maintaining Dragon Quest X as far as MMOs are concerned.)
  2. To me it's less the farming than just how bad they've made certain aspects of the game. In a sense, they say "We'll fix Alex!" when the problem isn't so much Alex as it is that there's literally nothing else to do PvE wise at 60. Just think, we'll get as much dungeons at 60 as 2.0... two patches in! And technically, that's not even true because some of them have iLevel locks! Typically you'll get people to accept the grind easier if you dress it differently. They haven't done that yet and it's looking like they won't since they're too busy stacking up more stuff on top of the flimsy endgame.
  3. Ah, the Tonberry's Lantern. A finer gossip rag you won't find in all the land. He'd just been wandering around Ul'dah, not really noticing the difference in dirty looks that people were giving him this time around. Finding a nice place near a fountain to sit down, he unrolled his copy of the lantern and sat his eyes on the present article. He rolled the newspaper up, calmly got up and thought to himself he'd better avoid the cities for a while...
  4. The turn around on that is way too fast though.
  5. Because 3.0, 3.1 and 3.15 weren't exactly stellar examples in our eyes. And it's not just relic. Relic was the cherry on top of the HW in general.
  6. FYI - The portion of the Warring Triad they showed us was originally called Doom in the SNES version.
  7. Just had another thought - What if it was only permitted because they hadn't put in anything that cleared up unused plots?
  8. Other players aren't my concern unless they have a direct line to the developers and producers. But for real though, specializations are way too centered on RNG to be worth the while. They'd need to redesign the idea of the skills and that is guaranteed not gonna happen before 4.0 if it ever happens.
  9. Meh, Square-Enix aren't exactly known for making good decisions nor even basing their decisions on things that make sense. "We'll release DQXI in NA if DQ Heroes sells well." as a very sour personal example. Don't get me wrong. I fucking love DQ Heroes. However, why would people purchase a hack and slash spinoff just so they can MAYBE get the game they actually want later down the line? * * * I guess nobody complained about crafting specializations then. I mean, the skills are so useful that nobody ever uses them. Or Gathering collectables. Or PvE problems that aren't Alexander. Or PvP in general. Like, official forums are essentially white noise. Nothing good can come of there and nobody wants their complaints mixed with that trash. In so far as LoV/Chocobo Racing are concerned, they're minigames that, well, don't lead to anything substantial. The MGP you can get from them is kind of bleh, LoV is a genre of game that not a lot of people necessarily appreciate (doubly so because we did not actually get the Lord of Vermillion game here due to its' arcade only release), there's no tangible reward that's worth it by simply doing these games to get people on the fence actually in there. At the moment, I'm looking at what they're doing this HW patch cycle and I'm having a hard time justifying the continued subscription and purchase of the next expansion. Also the following quote : is a fucking joke and a half.
  10. We have a TON of OOC RP setup LSes. They also tend to be quite full.
  11. Well, we have until tomorrow to monkey around. Then we cannot, because it'll be Heavensturn. Honestly do not like the helmets we get from them, but I still have the ones from last year. Although the Paissa as a Daruma is hilarious.
  12. Yeah but that's what your character would DO (and you'd try and sell a knick-knack that is relevant to their situation so you'd still be putting the conversation forward), as opposed to someone going in and trying to make the convo all about them. If you're not there at the planning stages, you're a prop. Help them and they'll help you.
  13. Pretty sure they have dedicated teams per data center.
  14. Oh for sure. I'm just clarifying that it may just be "fuck SE" rather than "fuck Yoshi P" or whatever the youngins say these days. Production hiccups = Bad times for everyone.
  15. Won't be the dev team on this one sadly, that'd be more up to production. Dev team can set up their rules as much as they want but it's up to production to ensure that everyone else is on the same page.
  16. Square doesn't notice jack shit on anything. They require tickets and reports to actually investigate anything. Parsers themselves, unless they break the game on server-side, won't be noticed unless someone in that raid group sends in a ticket saying player was using unauthorized 3rd party tools. The reason why they're investigating the fake PF bullshit is that it can easily lead to scamming the playerbase. Which is something they definitely don't want.
  17. but really we all know the most lorebreaking thing is the Thug's Mask.
  18. In a sense, if you're RPing in public and doing a scene that, well, leaves you unable to really respond to random prompts you probably should have a proper answer for someone interested.
  19. I'm more ticked about Cloud's Advent Children outfit being released with the fucking scabbards. NO ONE CAN EQUIP 6 SWORDS AT THE SAME TIME IN GAME, SQUARE.
  20. I'm running the Scholasticate questline. If you know me, you know in how much hatred I currently am.
  21. Aya the kinda barmaid that snapchat-screenshots drunk folks at the Quicksand and posts it on her Facebook. "Kellach Woods shouldn't you be working, instead of surfing the web during office hours... NAUGHTY LIST FOR YOU!" but but it's my off day and i'm looking for a lazy postmoogle okay santa ;.;7
