  1. Like, nothing makes sense. A bunch of rag-tag rebels in grand company clothing? Can literally explode a fucking wall and cause a giant massacre. One legion? Can destroy the whole alliance. This questline isn't even logical with its own canon. Fuck. For those of you who don't feel anything at Papalymo's death, do Hildi 'till the end. I had more fucking feeling for Gigi dying than Papalymo becoming another fucking primal (or whatever the fuck Louisoix did)
  2. THIS MAKES MORE SENSE THAN THE MSQ. I can't believe Cyr is my favorite NPC this patch.
  3. "By the Fury, not pointy!" is probably the best line of the patch so far for me.
  4. "The others need to learn of what happened here." 1) We're fucking idiots. 2) We seriously need to start ACTUALLY KILLING OUR ENEMIES AFTER WE DEFEAT THEM. 3) Don't worry Papalymo's not dead we'll just have to kill his spirit one day.
  5. Griffin's voice actor is terrible. "I'll tear you limb from limb." repeat ad nauseum. Already, why nobody just slaughtered the bastards is beyond me. Especially Gridania, who are known to be racist bastards AND have a genuine reason to do so (didn't Mhigo attack like 50-100 years prior?) Shit I might cheer for the garleans now! Also, EORZEANS ATTACKED A FUCKING CASTRUM IN ARR, COCKBLOCKED THE EMPEROR IN HW AND NOW, JUST FUCKING NOW GARLEMALD THINKS "HM MAYBE WE LET THEM LIVE TOO LONG!?"
  6. Scholasticate was a giant fucking waste of time filled with fucking plot holes. Whoever wrote that needs to SERIOUSLY reconsider doing that kind of questline for Stormblood. We learn absolutely nothing that couldn't have been done in a cutscene with Ser Aylmao, it makes the WoL look like a complete fucking chump because you can see whodunnit the SECOND he flashes that fucking smile and it takes Briardien swooping in at the last fucking minute to expose the culprit. And more importantly: IT'S SPOILED IN THE FUCKING QUEST TITLE.
  7. Journal of War Prelude: My people have never known, and never will know war. Skirmishes, perhaps. Treason, assuredly so. War? Never. They were annihilated before war could even arrive at their doorstep. Even our first brush with the concept was peaceful - The blockade was never challenged, even as I did my best to undermine it. One day, they left, and it was over. The possibility of war gone from our shores. A single, unassuming theft, and my people were annihilated. Victims of a war that had never concerned them - A genocide. Were I a warrior, I would swear vengeance, and die a warrior’s death, attempting to avenge my homeland. I, however, am a man of the land who has studied the hidden history of our people. I am now a student of tactics, strategies and planning in order to guide the world forward. Why, then, a journal of war? Unfortunately, war is inevitable. The story of these Eorzean lands show countless wars - From its inception, to the Allagan Empire’s attempt at expansion beyond the continent of Aldenard to the more modern wars of Mhach, Nym and Amdapor, the splintering of Belah’diah into Sil’dih and Ul’dah as well as the Ala Mhigan offensive on Gridania. Today, we face the Garlean Empire, an empire that only exists for destroying other lands and cultures. A force that has to be stopped, and then annihilated in turn. This journal is merely my experiences in these troubling times. An attempt at making sense of the world around me. Of course, the world can never make sense - Knowing why my people were annihilated does not remove the fact that they were. Within it, you will find a record of battles that were fought by men braver than I, for the sake of securing a future for them and theirs. Unless otherwise specified, I intend to annotate each battle with which stratagem as well as which tactic was used prior, during and after the battles. As a personal journal, it will be dry. As a historical document, it will be biased. So be it. Even if I die on the first time I oversee a skirmish, I will write to my last breath of why you should not follow my example. Respectfully yours, Einrich Woods
  8. Omega seems inspired by the FF5 version. Which means two bards should be enough to "stop" it. The music of Sohm Al (Hard) is fucking glorious and I hope the orchestrion roll isn't hard to get. The center of the diadem as the portal to Forbidden Land Eureka would be weird, but a good continuation. Doubly so if for some reason the Diadem stands above Crystal Tower. It'd be a nice link. Also glad to see they're going to recycle the Headstone model. Now, we just need to have Gold Needles work on it. I also did not expect FLE to come out now, so chances are it's just a preview for 3.55. Revamped Diadem is good and I hope it's really fun this time around. Not gonna comment on MSQ beyond the fact that Mysterium's gonna hear me bitch about it most likely. Not a fan of the MSQ. Hildi seems more serious this time around - Glad to see the Vivi storyline end mostly because I want to know what will happen. Kinda wondering A) if we'll get Hildebrand Manderville in Stormblood and B) what FF character will be featured. My personal vote would be for Benjamin but as part of the one dozen people that actually like FF:MQ that's obviously going to be my vote over literally anything else. It'll probably be something that can be turned to funny (See Gilgamesh arc that ended up including Ultros). Hell, Goldor from FFIII would be a possibilty as someone getting robbed requiring Hildi's brand of inquiry. Plus, MQ isn't really a FF game (look at Final Fantasy Legend 3 aka SaGa 3 and FF:MQ - FF:MQ is basically a SaGa game in all but name). Lack of Scholasticate is good. That storyline sucks. Unfortunately, it just means it's been pushed back to 3.55 (which is kind of expected as scholasticate IIRC is an in-between thing).
  9. For some reason, I'd think some Ala Mhigan monks would sooner set themselves on fire in order to punch the enemy because clearly fire punches are superior than use self-immolation as a protest thing. Also, isn't Rhalgr's whole schtick lightning?
  10. I'd main it - It'd be a suitable replacement for Mime. Kinda would like to see it Tank if only because it's the only way I could see a DoM tank.
  11. Yeah I was afraid of that. RIP Sylvie, your background is no longer compatible lel.
  12. What I got from the PotD questline (and the side quest that introduced the Duskwight archeologists that were rudely tossed away for a Tactics Ogre reference) is that essentially Gelmorra is pretty much abandoned at this point in time. Reading through the Gridania thread, there's mention that Gelmorra isn't abandoned. So which is it? A CHARACTER'S LIFE LIES IN THE BALANCE (insert flailing here)!
  13. I'll need to 70 it unless they announce Mime as an upcoming class.
  14. Omega? Pfft we have bards. Time to bah humbug on anything Ivalice related. FFT is Tactics Ogre for babies. FFXII couldn't even hold a candle to Ogre Battle. Etc. Finally, we will have every class featured in FF1 and 2... in some way?
  15. As they're described I'm chill with it. It kinda sucks that they don't get to experience ARR/HW but chances are they're coming in and most of the shit will be mad spoiled so the emotional impact and everything we hold dear to that time will be dead in the water. So all you're left with is a bunch of gameplay that, quite frankly, isn't super interesting. Job level skip? I'm fine with it as well - Mostly because it's never to the maximum level (you still have to play) and 10 levels is enough to grasp the basics and some intermediate strats of your job if you actually care about being good.
  16. Opt-in forum where shitposting is encouraged and the tone is far less respectful.
  17. The neckpiece was straight up rubber and they didn't even try to hide that fact. I only remembered the pilot's name was Bodhi because I played a lot of Payday 2. I actually liked the movie - Vader's sequence at the end was pretty much what I wanted to see (slasher flick Vader is the best). The first third of the movie felt like Space Panoramas Set To Star Wars Music but after that it picks up, I actually like the person playing opposite Donnie Yen's character better, but really both were great and really, I woulda wished they led the movie instead of white bread #1 and white bread #2 but what are you gonna do.
  18. It's nice to be all apogletic after the fact but none of you gave a shit when you tore into the person. Also the void forum is trash.
  19. Bear in mind that those will be updated once Stormblood hits - Story jump will put you at the start of SB and the Job jump will put you at 60 in one job. Kinda laughing at the idea of jumping Summoner to also get 60 SCH but y'know.
  20. If I queue up for a leveling, and I end up in a in-progress Sastasha, Toto-rak, or Copperbell, I know instantly that the tank should uninstall.
  21. AS WE ALL KNOW. EPIC ROLE PLAY MUST BE IN ALL CAPS.
  22. I'm sorry, but 35/40$ just for regular shipping is a move worthy of derision. Or are we so fucking US centric we're forgetting about the landmass to the north?
