  1. Things you will never hear my psychiatrist say when it comes to me.
  2. If you haven't done Heavensward, the good in Ishgard is extremely hard to see, but you definitely see a lot of it because the expansion goes out of its way to make Ishgard a more complex city than originally presented. Gridania NEEDS this kind of exposure, but won't ever get it most likely.
  3. My personal feelings is that you should never let anyone from Ul'dah speak and just run 'em through before they have a chance to spout bullshit. I'm going off of information revealed, not my personal feelings on this.
  4. Welcome to the Bank of RP. In order to make a withdrawal, you must have made a deposit first. In some cases, a surplus of deposited RP will result in a trust fund or getting an investment! HI HI! YOU COME RPING? YOU CAN SELL, TOO. I, MR. SATURN, BOING, CAN DO ALL FOR YOU. YOU WANT RP, ZOOM?
  5. Could be that Ilberd tried to fuck over Lolorito and kept the profits from the weapons sale. Would explain why he's ballin'.
  6. I can handle making up a context for any situation I happen to have Kell in, the problem is that in my experiences few people are receptive to him unless there's a common ground, which walk-ups don't necessarily provide.
  7. Other than flights of fancy the 3.0 content doesn't really throw shade on the main character's group.
  8. It's interesting because while it was done due to limitations in the script, it adds a bit of a lore pocket in that Ishgardians aren't really aware of how to deal with Miqo'te nomenclature.
  9. only pet peeve i have is people mixing their own bigotry with their character when it actually goes against the lore.
  10. There's very little moral ambiguity presented honestly in the game. They could be doing a whole lot more with it, but because they wrote themselves an enemy that's so fucking powerful no city can stand up to him alone, the Eorzean Alliance won't be eating itself alive anytime soon. And that would certainly put the moral ambiguity to a high note.
  11. Honestly that doesn't make sense considering the Ascians have been empowering people to create Primals. Not, y'know, trying to deal with it their own way. Rather, that you CAN effectively deal away with two empowered primals, two Ascians + Thordain in one fell swoop, as well as ally yourself WITH someone using a primal is a threat to their plans. So they figure, if Hydaelyn can have her warrior, why not Zodiark?
  12. In terms of the Soul Crystals... PLD and DRG specifically refer to other people using soul crystals (PLD to the point where they give you one, you find another one and they strip it from you because it's a traitor's soul crystal). WAR, BRD, BLM, SMN are essentially "revive the art" quests, so no other mention of soul crystals exist. WHM ties it specifically to a certain deceased NPC, but implies that it is necessary to even be a white mage from what I remember. SCH has you find one but is unnecessary if the art is learned properly - The fairy itself comes from the tablet Alka Zolka found rather than the crystal. MCH uses its soul crystal as a power battery rather than a skill switcher. It's how you activate most of your aether mechanisms. AST has one for... reasons - you just get the job and tutelage from a NPC. DRK I am so out of the loop on that I can't really say. * * * The point is, for certain classes they are a good part of the lore and for others they are essentially cheat sheets for you to learn the skills stupidly fast.
  13. It does explain the odd behavior of thanking the elementals for things they had zero hand in. Also, why gridanians claim to mete out justice anywhere that isn't the shroud even if they have no real legal power outside of it.
  14. can we talk about how gridanians are jerks worshiping creatures that don't give a fuck about them now?
  15. Or, y'know, is currently doing the same with his competitors in the Steps of Thal.
  16. not to throw more shade their way, but if it wasn't for their zombie nuke on sil'dih ul'dah wouldn't be around, an act so reprehensible they have a whole society formed to ensure that the truth never comes out. their politics can't be working THAT well. which is the whole point behind the three city-states anyway.
  17. On that front it's more of a way to secure the trade routes and ensure that Limsa pirates no longer attack Ul'dahn vessels for piracy. Ala Mhigo had just gotten destroyed, they have no advantage to hold over Ul'dah as that is the only thing the city recognizes.
  18. I honestly have no clue what exactly the monetarists are actually doing in Ul'dah for the refugees or whatever. Like, we only have their word and let's be real none of their greedy asses actually want the refugees around other than as slave labor (other than Teledji and even then it was as cannon fodder). They do about as much as the Elementals do for Gridania.
  19. Honestly I was banking on the 51-60 to open up new avenues, like they seem to be doing for every other job, but... apparently not?
  20. Dreadwyrm was just... bad. Although if you colored Excalibur/Aegis properly, you could make a PLD combo that looked real good.
  21. BLM quest is pretty much "Hey guys you know how we haven't made a Gridanian NPC that was the dumbest person alive?" "WELL HERE YOU ARE!"
  22. The whining about MCH is out of fucking control. We get it its damage is lower than it should be.
  23. Kell walked backwards off a cliff. The end.
  24. I am not an optimal tank. I went full STR and never looked back. Will I be more efficient once I get better left-side? Sure.
