Yakuza 5 (NA version) Zero Escape 3 Rising Thunder (non-beta actual release version) Street Fighter 5 -
It wasn't "highlanders" but "Ala Mhigans". The majority are highlanders, but that's never been the point. Also, you forgot about Duskwights in Gridania. I know they've been dethroned by the Au Ra but they were kind of in pole position of getting kicked in the junk for who they are prior. The thing with accepting that racism is super-widespread and everywhere is that... beyond WHM/DRK 50+ and LNC/ARC1-30, and Ishgard MSQ (still think it's a class thing more so than a race thing on this part), there's just barely any mention of it. We already have several key triggers to change dialogue, you'd think they'd go out of their way to create racist-y dialogue for various races (duskwights in particular) but they deliberately chose to not do that. Not saying it doesn't exist (most casual one I've seen were midlanders calling highlanders Roes or insisting they had Roe ancestry causing strife over at Buscarron's Druthers) but most are far more occupied with getting their base needs fulfilled than getting a hate-on over whoever doesn't look like them. First food and shelter, then racism, kinda deal.

This is an excellent point. I've encountered a lot of role-players in FFXIV who appear very reluctant to initiate contact when it comes to role-play. This, unfortunately, also extends to them maintaining contact once an initial introduction has been made. Obviously it's a two way thing but I'd be lying if I said my friends list didn't have more than a few role-players on it who haven't messaged me again after adding me. Sometimes this is understandable due to the real world/other responsibilities getting in the way but other times it feels like people are just too scared to put themselves out there and say 'hey, up for some role-play today?' beyond a certain group, i've yet to have anyone message me more than once for RP.

they're not encouraged - but people aren't gonna kill most races on sight. It's really the Au Ra because they resemble dragons (Ishgard) / demons (everywhere else) that get that treatment, and even then it's mostly seen in the DRK/WHM questlines. The Duskwights would have been genocided out of existence if what you said, and all the Ala Mhigo refugees would have been put to the sword the moment they stepped into the Twelveswood and Ul'dah.

Their cook is tolerated because he's outright the best cook outside of the Bismarck for malms on end. -
The Vent Tent - Poor PuGs and Other Terrible Tales

So, I log in, go into the only FATE party available, and CRASH ON SVARA. I get your message game. Fuck you. -
it's hard for me to take this thread seriously because of the title. Gridanian Racism to give you an idea : we give more of a shit about this than Square does - Amounts of time it's been brought up since the 2.0 quests? Zero. It's not even brought up if your character is a duskwight. I'd not be surprised if they were like "uh who gives a shit about Gridania anyway go grind some more." Ul'dah is a bunch of douchebags part 234087234982384 nothing new under the bridge here. this has been covered extensively throughout the MSQ that Ul'dah is a piece of shit city and anyone living in it should set themselves on fire for penance of living there. -signed, Sil'dih. Overall racism if racism was as overt as some of y'all are saying it'd be part of the quests a whole lot more than in that one Lancer (and Archer questlines - remember the Keeper gal says she had some problems fitting in) questline. hell most of the racist questlines lie in ONE place - Gridania. Ishgard is religious fanaticism, and not racism (else the hyur, though they have a rawer deal than the elezen for the most part, would have been a lot more present in the Brume) - though the hatred of interracial relationships is part of every culture (Wanderer's Palace Hard unlock quest confirms it in Limsa, and MSQ in Ishgard).

I'm really really starting to hate the playerbase of Balmung in general. Died 3 times to Mirka because someone decided to convert a FATE party to a Hunt party when there was barely 12 people for the hunt. -

Has anyone seen Nebbs angry? Nah. Well, as someone who is angry 50% of the time that is one hell of a good trait to have. -
Because this is an issue, an issue they are allegedly knowledgeable about, and they have done something around jack and shit to fix it. See if they had done something, they'd trumpet it to the high heavens. They haven't, so must mean they've given up on improving this. I'd just like confirmation that they don't care so I can train myself to stop caring about this issue.

G'raha has actually shown that he does have a dubious link to them if you do the CT storyline - he is also a non-issue because of said storyline. The best way to do anything of note in the game is to keep it under wraps.

There's a i115 non-HQ vendor of everything in the Jeweled Crozier I believe. -
The problem is that grinding is not difficult. I personally like overcoming challenges, learning things... All of which grinding simply doesn't do. Which is probably why I'm more focused on getting all-60 rather than actually grinding something out. Sure, I could just WAR myself up something fierce - I like to think I'm competent enough that I could easily smash through most of the game's higher challenges (as much as I say I'm bad at video games). However, in order to get to that level, I'd need to do content on a specific class until I'm sick of it (and that class). That doesn't sit well with me at the moment. RNG is also a poorer replacement for straight grinding, btw. Also, they're going to realize they set a too high barrier of entry to crafting end-game, like last time, and they'll nerf it around patch 3.2 or something.

Aaron likes to be prepared, which is always a good thing. FYI Clio what I did was level everything to 50 prior to the xpac, not get every relic. -
Eorzean Aetheists and The Believability of Such Characters

The Garleans, IIRC, have their own religion. They just violently discard Eorzeans'. -
Warrior of Light, Hydaelyn's Chosen, and Bringer of Light

I personally reworked Kell's backstory actually - I hadn't planned on giving him the Echo at all (I already gave him a lot of bullshit) but the more I thought about it the more I thought that his brother should have it, rather than having a non-lore explanation as to why he was able to transliterate what was ancient writing in caves which would explain his people's origins on that island. The Echo, from what I understand, allows you to view others' memories as though you were there, and understand all languages. Not exactly the most amazing powers ever. -
"Ugh I need to update my character's Wiki"
Kellach Woods replied to Berrod Armstrong's topic in RP Discussion
i've p much stopped updating mine. A) barely anyone reads it and B) most of the important details i know off hand. -
Oh, there'd be plenty to make Kell snap. He's a highly unstable individual who's obsession with masks is not entirely his (remnants of his people that has awakened within him), and who often goes back to his roots in his outfits as a sort of a way to unconsciously go back home. His home is Eorzea now, but he doesn't want to forget where he's from. The problem, of course, lies in the fact that his home is currentl blockaded by the Garlean empire, and that his people's customs will undoubtedly die out from such contact. So if he heard, say, that the inhabitants of Toegisil were wiped out, he'd certainly not take it well. Enough to lead a one man crusade to exterminate any and all Garlean citizen without trial. Any means necessary, to boot. It's not the only thing but I don't think the other things would actually happen. They're unfleshed out and I may end up dropping them.

Collectibles is like the worst possible idea I've ever seen for gatherers. Even for leveling it's wonky. I still don't see how people can swear by collectibles for leveling crafting myself - Other than the fact that they're always able to be turned in, I'm kinda like whatevs.
