  1. Again, Bravely Default - Blademaster. Just change that to Samurai and you're fine. But yea, SE won't make actual classes that are fun so.
  2. That probably stems from the fact that we're RPing within a given set of mechanics regardless of our personal opinions on whether we should consider these mechanics in our stories or not. In so far as the topic is concerned, I'll just say that if your weakness isn't interesting, you really should consider embracing being stupidly OP. People'll RP with you, or not based on much more ludicrous factors.
  3. Which Vader are we taking, the young one that got completely wrecked by his teacher twice his age or the older one who got completely wrecked by the person half his age, after he was 50% tireless robot? The guy who went to Japan, defeated Antonio Inoki, had a monster run over there, and then floundered in the US due to backstage politics.
  4. Steel Wolf, compassionate puncher. Only Steel Wolf could play MNK as a healer, with Rezzing punches.
  5. If they go with SAM as tank, I think they'd borrow a note from Bravely Default/Second with active parry/counters rather than actually fix the stat like they said they would for the HW patch cycle. It'd be an interesting tank mechanic, much more involved than just welp pump stats and immediately reduce damage. As I've often said, I don't really care what classes they put in or what they do with them, so long as they're fun.
  6. Honestly if they made RDM tank, and IF they made Parrying their main damage mitigation mechanic, you'd see a trait that made your tank stance able to parry magic. Of this I am quite sure. I'd rather they made a Parrying overhaul.
  7. 2 posts above yours, broski. It all remains the same. Although I might introduce canon Brickman because I'm a dumbass.
  8. Parrying is complete trash at damage mitigation, unfortunately.
  9. Tempering as per Primals? Until we confirm that Hydaelyn is a primal, that goes in the conspiracy theory folder.
  10. To be fair, your status as the Warrior of Light has no bearing on the storylines of these quests. I can't think of a single class or job-related questline that actually directly references the MSQ beyond a few twists here and there if you've completed certain parts (I.E.: Being DRG and completing DRG 50 changes how a certain NPC is introduced to you). If the WoL masters all classes, it is entirely through their WoLness and the Soul Crystals (except MCH) rather than being introduced to anyone via political means.
  11. "Wait, I gotta pick? Uh... uh... crap, I can't not pick. I mean, else they'll know I don't even know who the Twelve actually are!" *points* "That guy, with the axe! Axe-thick? No of course I meant althyk!"
  12. Any class that's a call back will be reworked as much as possible to fit into the trinity. As such, RDM as tank. You're welcome. BLU can work as any of the three, but tank can work if you make their abilities just work on themselves and rework others in ways unseen before - player Bad Breath as an aggro grabber? Yes. Other than the classes that have already been reused or reworked (E.G.: AST for TIM), anything's on the table as far as I'm concerned. SAM can be tank (heavy armor, Bladecatch, etc.) or DPS (Gil Toss, Sword Break from FFT, etc.) The only one that I can think is completely off the table is Mime or any of the special classes from FFT (and even then, we got Machinist so that's not even as much a truism as I'd like to admit!) Mime is, simply put, too bland beyond it's mimic skill, and they won't let people have that. Even the Bravely series has rolled Mime into Freelancer these days.
  13. This is incredibly selfish of me but please ruin Ala Mhigo. I don't care how, just do it. This thread is a great example why it needs to be done.
  14. you have NO IDEA how much I want Mime. Mime means I'm not leveling anything else. Like, at all.
  15. Brexit sounded fucking stupid and that didn't stop them. Other consequences: Scotland might be considering a second referendum.
  16. Isn't the distinction between Wildwood and Duskwight mostly centered around the shroud/Gridania? At least that's how I interpreted the blurbs specific to the races at character creation.
  17. It's really not that hard. Like, follow these steps. - HIT SHIT HARD. - DON'T STAND IN STUFF. and it's a clear. Unfortunately, both steps 1 and 2 are often ignored.
  18. Nah, the shit-tier exchange rate was already mentally calculated. So long as it had -DLC promotion I should be good, right?
  19. Yeah, that's partially got me worried.
