For me, I think it depends on how it is pulled off. I've seen it done well and done poorly. I agree with others though in that it would be purely cosmetic and likely not actually repair anything. You'd just be a different race with the same injuries.

Question for you folks - particularly the art minded people: If I were to make a video tutorial that I would then post up on Gumroad for you to purchase for $3-4, what would you want me to teach you how to do? Basic Photoshop 101? The Joys of Blending Modes? WTF *are* Blending Modes? My general painting process?

First thing I want to get out of the way is: RP whatever is fun for you. You pay money for this game, you might as well have fun RPing in it. Not everyone may agree with it, but I'm sure you'll find people who are fine with it and will RP with you. Now that I got that out of the way, my only question is - if you're just trying to find a way to have a white-mage character, why run with the idea of her being in stasis within Amdapor? We know next to nothing about Amdapor, SE hasn't provided us a whole lot of information about the civilisation. You basically have almost no backstory to fall back on for your character other than that she's an amnesiac with White Magic that was found in the Lost City of Amdapor. She would have no history to really help enrich her story and if you gave her any memories at all that she eventually remembered, they would have to be insanely vague in order to avoid completely making up what Amdapor's culture, society, etc were like (only to run the risk of SE releasing lore in the future that completely contradicts it.) If you go with the idea that perhaps she was found in the Shroud with no prior memory of anything other than that she was in some kind of stasis bubble with the mysterious ability to wield White Magic - you could open up your character to having any manner of history you like, without any restrictions that being from Amdapor would impose.

I think that anyone who would feel that you are breaking the lore by RPing a White Mage would just find this even more lore-shattering. Personally, I feel that you would be better to simply going with the idea that White Mages are undergoing a quiet revival like other job-classes and just be very subtle about being a white mage. Void embryos and being locked in a dormant sleeping state for years and years (how many years has Amdapor been gone again? A century? Maybe more?) - is a lot harder to swallow than the elementals very cautiously loosening their restrictions on non-padjal white mages.

On the Warrior of Light front, I think all of this confusion is built up because there are multiple definitions for it within the game itself. At the start of the MSQ, the term 'Warrior of Light' was just for "Person who fought at Carteneau and then mysteriously vanished, while also being impossible to remember." As the Adventurer Guild NPCs tell us, trying to remember them was like seeing their 'silhouette against the glare of the sun' -- that's how the name "Warriors of Light" stuck. ArmachiA is right in that there is no proof either way stating whether or not every single person who was affected by the time-skip spell was a person with Echo or if they were all just adventurers. Then, Hydaelyn pops up later on in the story and refers to you as "Warrior of Light" -- unlike the NPCs, she literally means you are a warrior of Light that is combating the Darkness. She's blessed you and that's why you have Echo and are awesome. THEN, the GC/Nation leaders decide to call you a 'Warrior of Light' after you help save Eorzea from the Garleans, namely because of how much your actions remind them of the original Warriors of Light that vanished from Carteneau. So -- are all the people that Hydaelyn refers to as Warriors of Light Echo-users? Yes! Are all the people that regular old NPCs refer to as Warriors of Light Echo-users? Probably not.

Hey folks! I am going to put a temporary hold on portraits until October 1st. I have a major deadline for one of my bigger freelance assignments coming up on the 30th of this month and if I don't get it done, I'll be in a pickle. I'll most definitely be resuming as usual on the 1st though and if all goes well with that big freelance assignment, I'll have something neat to show you guys in a month or two.

I have 5 characters, because I've got altitis and I have a problem. :V (I'm thinking of making a sixth. SOMEONE STAGE AN INTERVENTION.) Typically what I do is I level the alt to at least level 15 so I can get the airship pass for that character. Then you can travel to any city and any zone without having to level it up any further than that unless you really, really want to.

I think the Potoo Bird is my secret other spirit animal. Always in a constant state of surprise, derp, and confusion. :V
