I'm very happy end game crafting is easier now. I've only got into it recently so this is very exciting although a long way to go as I need to get them all to level 50 but still! Now just need to find Aris and Nimimi partners and get married. Seriously imagine how adorable a lala wedding will be.

Aris isn't in a relationship now, but if the opportunity arises.. The Eternal Bond system is perfect for RP'ers. I appreciate how much thought SE has put into it, with inviting guests and so forth.

(( I planned on submitting this as an open RP thread, but my nerves have gotten the better of me. This is the first time posting anything publicly, I hope it's okay. )) As Aris trekked towards The Weeping Saint, fully geared with lance on back and fists wrapped, she considered what Haurchefant had told her. "..We’ve had several reports of sightings of the beast..no exact location but it seems to move in pattern..giving locals more reason to be nervous..I’ve sent patrols out but no luck..one person confirmed missing and, well, I’m beginning to fear the worst.." Well, it wasn’t the most heartening assembly she’d had with Haurchefant, that was for sure. She pulled the furs further up around her face, stopping to take in her position. If she continued at this pace she should be an hour away from the grotto, and judging by the light it was late afternoon. If, if she found the beast, would she even have any chance against it? Perhaps if it's smaller, but the Knight couldn’t confirm its size. He couldn’t confirm any details, in fact. As is usually the way with rumors. She sighed and continued to trudge through the snow. She hated the cold. Perhaps it was her father’s Seeker blood in her, or perhaps simply because it was so damn uncomfortable and inconvenient. Only twice had she visited Coerthas and each time she had been on an assignment, staying in the Fort of Whitebrim Front. Not quite as welcoming as The Drowning Wench perhaps, but at least it had huge, warm, fires.. It was as she daydreamt about sitting in the warmth that she realised how wrong this task was for her. She never daydreamed in the middle of an operation. She never allowed herself to be caught off guard. In a location she didn't know, she was already making mistakes and it had barely even started. Doubt crept up on her and she halted, trying to get her mind back on track. This was going to be an interesting mission indeed.

Are there any EU friendly tavern or cafe, maybe held in a local area? Would it be worth looking into making one, if not weekly perhaps monthly? I haven't ever been to that sort of event but I know many do! ..It could have a pub quiz. :angel: Fancy dress party for Christmas? I'm very new to RP so apologies if this wasnt what you were thinking. :roll:

Yay Warren! And it only took 12 pages. I enjoyed reading through it. I'm yet to make one for Aris or Nimimi. Probably should get on that, it would help get my ideas in order.

As a EU member who generally only hears about events that start at 3am, I like the sound of this. I'd be happy to help with a directory if needed. Listing upcoming EU friendly events and any FCs/LS with medium-heavy EU member activity, and EU players? Hmm! I will try to think of some ideas, but you have my support in this.

Mine will be as well. I'm sure it will be fine, but if it not then Steel and Aris can be late to the party together. Haven't got her dress or hair sorted though, I'm not sure what to put her in. D:

I kinda-sorta created Gran for this purpose and I've grown rather attached to the porker as a character in his own right. :blush: It genuinely works as an idea because I was thinking about approaching you IC but wasn't sure what to talk about and then I thought: Gran. :blush:

I think we're going through a similar thing! Most are already in their own clique, and it's quite difficult to fit in with that. I find it very nerve wracking and sad knowing I haven't got a place anywhere, not just OOC but then I'll need my characters to fit in too. I'm get incredibly anxious just talking to people, and getting into roleplaying is definitely a big step! But it does seem like it's a case of just.. going for it. The first few times doing it will be the hardest, but it'll get easier. Ideally finding a group of people who are on at similar times as you (that's definitely my biggest problem as I'm in the EU) would be helpful. Perhaps try some different linkshells if you'd rather not leave your FC? I'm currently looking for a FC as well. I haven't had the guts to do it with anyone yet, but if you don't mind a newbie I'd happily RP with you if you wanted a partner. Or perhaps I'll see you while we both hunt for a group to join.

Very excited for this - it'll probably be my first public RP event too! It'll be great to finally meet many of you IC. Will need to find a reason for my characters to be there.

But what if they have that -exact- same mentality? Two people waiting for the other will be a very, very, very quiet encounter. Someone's gotta start a conversation somewhere, right? Also, a relationship takes two. If it's always me instigating conversation, it would put me off that they aren't making any effort, or suggest that they don't want to talk any further.

I haven't really anything insightful to add but, just to say, I know how you're feeling. :blush:

Adorkable. I haven't roleplayed with Aris yet, so she hasn't got any friends except my alt character. But she prides herself in her self control, and being calm and able to think quickly and logically in high pressure situations is something she's trained in. She'd try to calm the situation down gently, appealing to each of her friend's natures. If they're the angry punchy type, take them on a training session and have a good punch while figuring out the root of the problem. If the friend needed more emotional, talking support, she'd probably confide in (my alt) Nimimi about it as this isn't something she's good at. If Aris did think they were going to kill each other, she would swiftly disarm them, or if unarmed spraining someone's arm if necessary. If a friend was killed by another friend and it was something she could have helped or stopped, depending on the situation Aris would definitely lose that self control and doubt everything about herself. If she couldn't stop a friend's death, why train in the first place? What did she do wrong; how can she help against bigger evils if she couldn't help her friends? Not that this is the logical thinking she prides herself in - but grief and being so close to the situation would create a messy breakdown and confidence loss I imagine. Or she might seek revenge. I've rambled.

I've found this helpful despite not roleplaying as a job. Thanks for the tips.

I'm glad they do make effort to balance out the classes. SMN definitely needs a bit of help so hopefully will be next.

Thank you all for the replies! I'll just take it as it comes with each RP then. I mostly wondered if there was already a general consensus as to how long things took, but I'm glad to know it isn't looked too closely at. .. I'm worrying too much and should just get on with writing. :roll:

I hope you don't mind me saying this like this, but If Aaron can beat T9, NO ONE ELSE HAS AN EXCUSE FOR NOT BEATING T9. someday when i beat T5....*sigh* *table flips the game* Oh? What are you having difficulty with? Mechanics? Finding a group? Gear? Finding a group. My new all time favorite reply is "Ah...well someday you'll get one." I hear that from most people and it makes me feel real swell. :thumbsup: Hey, if you let me know when you're on I will happily come along and help! I'm in EU but often play EST evening if that would fit. Alternatively, I'm in a few different endgame LS that has sometimes have people running it if you'd like an invite.

Hello! I wondered if we know how long it would take to travel across Eorzea (or across a map, e.g. Central Shroud). In game, if I were to take a Chocobo Porter from Ala Mhigo to Ul'dah it would take about 3 minutes, but IC that's incredibly short and not much of an adventure at all. Or do we go by this IC as well? I'm still new to RP, and it's the first time I've thought about this sort of thing properly. I know the devs have provided some lore on teleporting. I imagine it's been discussed before - if so I apologise for the silly question!

Oops, I thought the echo for T9 wasn't implemented yet. Was looking forward to trying something without a buff, as it'll be a while before I find a group for Final Coil. :blush:

It's a wonderful idea, sadly I won't be able to get on until later, but if all goes well will hopefully be able to make it to the next one.
