Hello! I'm not sure how to go about asking this, so please forgive my rambling! I am hoping to find anyone who wouldn't mind having small, walk up conversations with my character(s). It could be just the one time if it'd suit you, but it would be very helpful if it was more than once. Hopefully you might be open to me walking up to you for a small conversation if you're free one day. It would literally just be 5 minutes, no longer. You would be more than welcome to cut it short if you wanted. I'll probably message you beforehand to see if you're available. If you're okay with it, this might happen a few times over the next few weeks, or months. To explain in short, I'm get severely shy and anxious when it comes to talking to people, so I'm hoping some small conversations will help ease me into talking to you all. I can explain more over PM if you'd prefer. But it really will be no longer than 5 minutes, maybe even just a 1 minute conversation at first. My current characters: Nimimi Nimi - Female, loving Lalafell, who works as a trainee healer in Thanalan helping refugees Roysa Rakes - Female, Highlander, herbalist, located in Gridania (still a WIP) Hopefully this could start a gradual connection between our characters. I'm not sure how to go about such a short conversation but it won't be about anything big or significant. :blush: Any way, thanks for reading. I hope this is okay, I'm so nervous. Edit: I forgot to add, I currently play GMT afternoons and EST evenings (no later than 10).

As a roleplayer finding it difficult to break into the community, I love the sound of a welcoming committee. Edit: ^ Such a directory would be very helpful.

Sounds like a good idea! I'll be interested when 3.0 finally comes around, both as an Au Ra and acting as a guide. If it goes to plan my Au Ra to be an ambassador of some sort, so she could be someone who introduces pairs together if there would be need for it.

^ This. I go to bed around 3:30am on Sundays because that's my raid night, but end up staying awake throughout the night usually because I don't fall asleep easily. A few times a week I go to bed 2-3 because of something on the game, be it roleplay, raiding or just wanting to spend time with US friends.

Oh I know how you feel! I'm so shy. Just making a post on here makes me incredibly nervous. ;-; Having a more antisocial character is always going to cause problems, as even if you had the confidence to initiate RP the character themselves could hold you back in some way. I think the best way, as you've already done, is just to find reasons for him to have to interact. Because even shy or antisocial people have to go out and talk, unless it's so bad that you stay inside all day (which is me - I have social phobia) but then I'd question why anyone would want to roleplay that sort of character in the first place, as it wouldn't be very interactive. And I can speak as someone with first hand experience that's it's very lonely and boring. Another good way around it is to let people know beforehand that your character is antisocial, and while they may not respond encouragingly at first they will do eventually, and there is promise for good roleplay in the future. This would help keep the interest of anyone who feels the roleplay might not be getting anywhere. I know I'd be happy to roleplay with someone if they let me know beforehand it might be a slow start. It was sweet of you to involve people here! I can't wait to see the end results, those expression charts are fun to do & very helpful for practising.

My new OC Roysa is a highlander, Astrologian when it's released, who practises tarot reading, different aspects of divination, as well as trading in medicinal herbs. She's still a WIP, but I'm thinking things like palm reading she doesn't actually believe in, but sells it in her shop as it 'comes with the territory'. I know nothing about these things, and don't believe in any of it personally, but have been researching it. It's really enjoyable actually, learning something new along the way. I'm excited to finally roleplay Roysa when I've got her backstory sorted out. I'm not sure how I can include certain aspects and pull it off successfully without either a) stalking the other person's OC or b) asking about them about their character beforehand. ..I see lots of stalking in my future.

I love the sound of this! It would be a great way to establish communcation between each other, encourage new roleplays, and just generally get to know other FC plots. I'm sure my FC RP leaders and me would like to come along

I'm not sure if it's changed, but Levi EX and Mog EX are needed for Ramuh EX, and then Ramuh is needed to unlock Shiva. I think that's still the case. I'd be happy to come along and heal or DPS for you! Would especially like to heal Mog EX if you're running it, as I've been farming it for the healing bow but no luck as of yet.

Yeeees! I'm still waiting for the lore, but as soon as we learn about it, maybe people could start plotting some background stories together. (EU players, are you willing? ;_; ) Count me in, if you don't mind a roleplay newbie.

Edit: I rewrote this post because I hadn't read the question properly. Derp for being half awake. ._. I'm not sure whether to turn my main into an Au Ra, or use the placeholder alt I made still at level 1. I find it very difficult to manage alts - I don't know how you all do it! But she will be a fresh concept of a character new to Eorzea. My ideas can easily be adapted to any lore we find, though with so much new content I doubt I'll be role playing straight away any way! It would be nice to get a head start and talk through some possible future relationships with people, leaving room to adapt to lore as needed. No harm in speculating.

We really do. Most raid groups are 1am+ (GMT+00) so I gave up finding a suitably timed one and stay up half the night instead.

I'd genuinely like to roleplay with everyone. Put it this way - I've been lurking this site for a year now and can't think of anyone I wouldn't want to meet. Not just the regulars but also the quieter folk. Yeah you. Y'all seem incredibly sweet and have wonderful characters too.

Actually I'm hoping 3.0 will be the beginning of my role playing adventure. I've speculated a lot about characters, but nerves have always gotten the best of me when it comes to actually approaching people. :blush: If things go to plan, I'll be making my main an Au Ra. She will be an ambassador - some sort of secondary ambassador, so it doesn't go against any lore. I think that would work and not be off putting for others? ._. Goodness, I'm no good at this. Any way, she will have to meet a lot of people, and travel around, which will help me create relationships and get a foot into the RP community. Well, that's the ideal hope any way. :blush:

Ooh yes, Au Ra lore please! And a release date would be nice.

I started making characters and discussing them/planning how they interact with friend's characters when I was on neopets (lol) about 11 years ago. Does that count as RP, I'm not sure? Otherwise, I still haven't actually had a proper IC conversation. One day!

I'd also be happy to help as WHM/SCH or DPS. Have cleared up to T9 and all primals except Odin, although need practice on Ifrit. I'm usually free afternoon GMT (morning EST) or past midnight GMT (6-10pm EST). The only day I can't do is Sunday 8-10pm EST as it's my raid night. But yeah, just need a little bit of notice beforehand so I know if I need to stay awake lol. Would love to help out if I can.

MTQcapture is great - her guides are clear and straight to the point, plus she adds good music. I think others have said all I can say, I'd just like to offer my assistance! Am in UK, so online morning/early evening EST. If you'd like company going through anything I'd be happy to come along and explain stuff as healer/dps.
