  1. Nearer the time I imagine there will be a few posted on here
  2. FATEs in the Summerford La Noscea area are a good spot for 1-15, as there are often people grinding atma. Doing a mix of leves, guildhests, hunting log, FATEs + food bonus + FC exp bonus should level them up quite quickly!
  3. I think others have answered your questions pretty much, but to add - healing on a console is very easy, just as good as on a PC in my opinion (but I'm biased ). If you time it right, like on PC, you can queue up actions just the same. You do have to scroll up and down the pad to access party members, but it will automatically go back to the party member you've healed a few times. In battle your settings will automatically be set so that if you aren't focused on anything, and face something and click X, it will target only the enemy and not any party members. So you can swap between targeting the boss, or focusing on your party list with bottom arrow, with one click just as easily on a computer. You can also swap enemy targets by L1+R2, which will switch through them slower, but if you're doing it while your action cooldown is up then it really makes no difference and is just as efficient. And there's lots of option to personalize your UI and crossbars/controller to suit you. Please don't let it put you off healing, PS4 is just as good if you want to try it! (Sorry for saying automatically lots.)
  4. I sincerely hope people do start to RP there; it's a wonderful opportunity to spread RP out as many players have wanted to - we just need to take it. I understand it's easier to stay in Ul'dah rather than move another city, since it would basically be the same RP just dressed differently, and you always know people will be in the Quicksand, but at least the Saucer offers many new scenarios and a fresh environment. And it still has bars if you want that.
  5. As mentioned above, it's war torn, and more or less completely unknown, so the majority of folk moving there for casual RP and socialising like the Quicksand wouldn't make a lot of sense. Perhaps in the future if it becomes a safe area and starts to rebuild. It will become the new hub for end game as well. It would be great if RP does become more spread out though. There are so many nice locations, it's a shame the majority is currently stuck in the same place or out of the way in private housing.
  6. I've read PS3 lag can be quite bad in high traffic areas. PS4 is just as good as a PC I believe, the only issues I personally have are when everyone is getting them, due to my location, or if someone in the family is downloading lots of stuff. It's been great lately - I expected loads of lag with 2.5's release but it was fine. I don't think 3.0 will be quite as good though
  7. Small reminder that there are two sub races - it'll be great to see how they differentiate. :surprise:
  8. Your art is wonderful! Your DA gallery is great as well. Look forward to seeing further updates!
  9. We'll help you get up to date in no time, whatever you chose to do! I'd like to add though, it's quite difficult making a character on Balmung at the moment as it's restricted most of the time with people playing because of recent patches and the expansion coming up. Sometimes it's open early morning EST, or one of the best times is before or after maintenance. But since you've already got a character there it might be quicker to stick with them until you see it open.
  10. Yes it is, but I've been told the RP is still pretty active over there, although I don't think it's as public as it is on Balmung. There's a neat Making Connections thread which might help find others in hiding. And the Gilgamesh threads too. There's a server transfer option in the Mog Station if you find Gilgamesh a little quiet for your liking, but it costs $18 and there are some conditions to transferring regarding max amount of gil and stuff.
  11. C'kayah is incredibly kind and made me a CUL leveling kit to lv 37 for Steady Hand II. I'm eternally thankful! Am leveling all the DOH so to get such a big boost in making that happen makes me do a happy dance. ♥ A friend of mine, Zei, bought me Alkalurops when I first hit level 50 and didn't have a weapon. One of my favourite items in the game, it was so sweet of her. ♥ And a kind stranger gave me some grapes he'd been gathering to help 'leveling adventurers', and a random ghost gave me a cookie. Little things, but nevertheless put a huge smile on my face. ♥ In attempt to pass on the kind gestures, I made someone a WVR leveling kit, minus the last 10 levels because I found it difficult to HQ them. I don't think they minded though. And I try to help out with making HQ clothes or running things if needed..but I shamefully admit, lately I've been so wrapped up in capping tombs and getting all dailies/weeklies done that I've neglected taking that extra step to be helpful to others. This has been a good reminder - it's nice to see a thread like this. We have some new folk in our FC so when I get on I'll see what I can do.
  12. Welcome back! It must be refreshing to come back to so many new things. I'm on Balmung so won't be much help to you, but I recommend checking the Linkshell Hall - there are some FC and LS listed, hopefully you might see one you like the look of! Let us know if you have any questions, we're all friendly folk here always willing to help :chocobo:
  13. Hey, welcome to end game! It is quite overwhelming at first, but you'll get used to it quickly, promise. Honestly one of my favourite things when I first hit 50 was starting the Crystal Tower quest line. 24-man raid, as someone who's never played an MMO before, was so cool It's a neat way to get some i80 pieces and soldiery to go towards i100 gear. It unlocks in Mor Donah I believe, and can be done at i55. The A Relic Reborn quest will get you a decent i80-90 weapon which should get you through many lower ilv post-50 dungeons. It's good to slowly begin working on any alt classes for cross-class abilities too. If you're a healer, getting THM to lv 26 for swiftcast is a priority. d: For me, the goal was to unlock all the things and work up the current average ilevel at the time. A good goal might be to get to i100, which means you'll be able to do all content (except Final Coil which is currently the hardest content in the game so we can ignore that atm lol) comfortably. I'm not sure if things are the same now, but the route I went was.. an i50 weapon first from my selected GC, and bought some accessories from the marketboard to get my ilv up to i55. And then went through the dungeons I could access to get gear to unlock more dungeons. A dungeon list is here (http://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Dungeons) with where to unlock each one and what level you need to be at to enter. To be honest you could probably skip a few of those steps now as it's easier to get higher ilv gear, but I'm not sure how to go about it. Hopefully someone will come in and share! I know there are many kind folk on here who are willing to help kit fresh 50s out in i90 gear, or you could buy some yourself off the MB but it's quite expensive! It would save time gearing up though. I hope this made sense! I am here if you'd like to run anything together. I need practice healing, or have Monk which about to hit level 50, so will be running things for gear regardless. Edit: I'm so sorry I just read this back and it's a rambled mess but I'm so tired I can't figure out how to make it neater ;-;
  14. Nope, you can level up all the classes once you hit level 10! Just talk to the appropriate Guild receptionist (Conjurer in Gridania, THM in Ul'Dah) to begin the quest. You'll be able to travel between City States at level 15. You can swap between classes by changing your weapon. Each class starts at 0 and they have to be leveled up individually.
  15. Still open! 10:35 am GMT Edit: open 11:08
  16. This is the best thread. It's great to see so much lalafell love Wonderful art!
  17. Highly recommend The Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks, it's brilliant. Just finished the third book. Someone read it so we can talk about it.
  18. If you don't mind a newbie tank who's never done it before, and we can find a healer and DPS, I'll happily come along with you. Have been hoping to try a tanking class but would rather not pug it as I know I won't be very good, especially pre-30.
  19. Leveling kits are really helpful, a kind soul made me one and it was such a huge relief to be able to breeze through it. However on the chance you don't use one, I highly recommend getting all the DOH classes to 15 first. The cross class skills are incredibly helpful to HQing pre-50 (I can't speak for after) and it doesn't take long to do, it's just frustrating having so many different mats. I wish I'd done it before leveling my first class to 50 (also Weaver). Sadly I'm on ps4 and can't really do anything else while crafting, so I just do it while queuing for dungeons and PvP. But to be honest I'm finding myself starting to enjoy it any way
  20. Def recommend the PVP roulette, ideally at peak time so the queue is quicker. 15 mins for 40 poetics is pretty neat! (Also we need more people running it please.) & Yay! Congrats on the big 3 digits <3
  21. Sadly there are lots of reports of it and Sony have said they're looking into it. Hope it's back up soon.
  22. I can't wait for some lore regarding them. ^^
  23. No, it's absolutely fine. I'm not sure about other VoiP but I know TeamSpeak is available on mobiles, and I have it on our ipad which works great. Like the pc version, you can leave the mic on, hold button to talk or use voice recognition so you dont have to take your hands off the controller. If it occurs where you can't use a VoiP, macros are helpful if you haven't got time to type too.
  24. Many art programs have a free trial, usually 30 days, so be sure to have a look for one before investing. The only program for drawing that springs to mind aside from Photoshop (which is kinda pricey) is PaintTool SAI. Lots of my friends have it and swear by it. I can't find where to buy it but last time I checked it was around £45. There are also lots of free downloads if you don't mind that. As far as tablets go I've only tried Wacom, but I highly recommend their tablets, they're really great and easy to use. Sorry this isn't very helpful!
