Due to some in game and out of game things that are going on, I'm temporarily closing the doors of Corvus Cinis. I'll reopen them at a later date. In reference to wanting to strictly be a healer, and not use offensive spells, I can tell you that Conjurers are the ones who tend to be more healer based, but they look down on people who use conjury to only heal. (This is revealed in that storyline). I think that if you want to go that route, it could make an interesting story. But yes, Con is a much better healer choice than Arcanist, at least until you can get Scholar unlocked (But I haven't run those quests yet, so I can't tell you much other than that).

THIS. Thanks for branding a whole server of people as the RP elite...that's just as effective as talking about how there is a right and wrong way to RP... I'm sorry, as someone who tries to welcome and involve all types of RPer into the Balmung community, I'm a bit offended at branding us all that way. I feel like this thread is devolving way too quickly. We need to stick to the topic in the OP, and not go pointing fingers and name calling. If it continues to become a pissing contest over who is the best type of RPer, I will lock this thread. Consider this the official warning.

I think that there is a way to address being offended, and a way not to. If you find something offensive, you can calmly ask the other people to stop because it makes you uncomfortable. And that's in an OOC situation, I think. If it is IC and you are offended, then I think that you need to reevaluate your game choices. Eorzea isn't a fairytale land. There are things that happen that are dark and gritty, as it should be. People in Eorzea kill, have sex, talk about those things...talk about them in public even. I don't think that it needs to be hidden. There are NPCs that talk about those things. There is a warning label on the box. I agree with you completely, that sometimes people need to take a step back and realize what it is that they are playing. Also, just because someone is involved with something ICly does NOT mean that they hold those same beliefs OOCly. I know that there have been numerous times when people will look at a character and pass judgement on the player. Trust me, not all players are their characters...we shouldn't be our characters. Let's all take a step back and enjoy RP for what it is. If you don't agree with someone's story or character, no one is forcing you to RP with that character. You can find another group of people to RP with and no one is going to think any less of you. But don't go forcing your beliefs on others because it doesn't coincide. There's enough room on the RP servers for all types of characters and RPers without everyone creating a veritable shitstorm of drama over silly things. Just my 2 gil.

Sadly, drama pops up everywhere. People aren't going to like you, they aren't going to like each other, they're going to want you to step in even though it's not your place... The best thing to do is realize that we should all be adults and should be able to talk about things like this. If people don't want to talk, then it's best to part ways. It's not worth leaving your group of friends, it's not worth stressing over (even though it's really difficult to do), and it's not worth leaving servers. It will come and go. There will be periods of peace, and there will be periods of strife. But in the end, is the story worth it? Are you having fun? The answer should be yes. It's when it gets to be no that you have a problem. *hugs* Believe me, I've seen my fair share of drama since 2.0 started, and even before then. It will pass.
