So, I'm a huge fan of art, and I couldn't find an old thread for this, but I figure that I'd pop a thread up for people to share art that they've gotten from artists that don't advertise here. This way, we can share the art, share the love for the artists, and maybe help those artists get exposure...and who doesn't want that? I just got a commission from nowlawforthedamned. She was super easy to work with, had a fast turnaround, and her prices are super reasonable. All of her commission info can be found here. You should all go commission her, and if you do, let her know that AlySedai sent ya. Here's the pic she did for me. Anywho, yeah. Post artists and stuff. Go!

This, so much. All this. I try to make sure that if I'm there and I see someone emoting to themselves that I try and find a reason for my character to talk to them. It's more fun that way. I just wish more people did the same.

In her youth, she was guilty of many things: Arranging murders Standing by during other crimes Theft Extortion Cheating Murder As an adult, she's been guilty of Murder. Most of what she's done as an adult has been to try to make up for the crimes of her youth. She enjoyed all of those things when she was younger, so remembering that feeling puts her into a pretty bad place.

Updated some of my info in this first post. Should be current now.

I'm not good, I'm not nice, I'm just right. I'm the witch, you're the world! Yay for knowing Into the Woods. It is my favorite musical. I was really saddened by the movie. Anywho. /sidebar I totally agree with the Wildstar housing thoughts. It was one of my favorite parts of that game. Sure, you couldn't walk through a neighborhood and randomly happen upon someone because they were all separate instances, but it was a lot more robust. Even with a little bit of money, you could do amazing things there. *sigh*

Blargh. I'm a teacher, and the students had a half day, and I'm stuck here for another hour and a half until I can leave because I'm supposed to be having a content team meeting...and I am my own content team. Good times.

Hey now. Enough with that inflammatory talk. I understand you're just being brutally honest, and whatnot, but still. Keep it clean people, or I'll have to use the MODHAMMER and lock this thread!!! Gaaaaaah! No, seriously. Yay for the new mods. We welcome them happily into the fold. Make sure you all are nice to them!

Thanks for letting us know. Just send me a PM when you need my references and monies and whatnot!

Again, if you want to talk about your character, do so in a separate thread. Cynel1, it's probably about time for you to move your discussion to it's own thread so that you're not cluttering up this one with talk of your personal struggle. If you need me to move posts into a thread of it's own, let me know, or you can just start a thread for yourself. Thanks!

I disagree. I think that bluntness has it's place, and that's when people ask for it. If no one asks for your blunt opinion, and it could be construed as something that isn't constructive, then you should keep it to yourself. Keeps us Admin from having to step in every two seconds because someone answered blunt with snarky.

I definitely agree. The current thread name puts a bit of a negative spin on it, rather than offer a potential for suggestions on how to spice up your RP with more racial antics. After the little back and forth with Kage has me tempted to put little ear-twitches into Chachan's emotes when he's curious about something, for example. I think it'd be cute. "Hey, my Chocobo just had her chicks. Wanna see?" *ear twitch* This is a test to see who jumps on to point out that chocobos are all male in Eorzea, right? DID I WIN? AM I A WINNER? Wait what, they are? Even the pinku ones!?!?! ESPECIALLY the pink ones. #effyourgenderstandards

I think that the best conversation comes from conversing. Not from pointing fingers or saying that someone does something "wrong." Instead, let's frame it as "Racial RP: How do YOU do it?" Instead, we can discuss how we see Eorzea and the races within it. Hey, might get a couple of good ideas from each other that way instead of making people feel like the things that are done are going to be shunned.

//magicadminhat I'm deleting the posts in question. If those of you involved in those posts wish to continue that conversation, please do it in PMs. Thanks.

Oh, I was never taking the conversation as people playing Miqo's as LITERALLY hyur wearing ears and tails. That would be...odd. Twelve, I hope I never run into someone who actually does that.

//magicadminhat Look, I see this thread getting off topic talking about people RPing futas and whatnot. I'd like to ask that if you're not going to talk about the main topic, and you're not going to do it in a respectful manner, that you don't talk at all. There is no need to call anyone out for anything. You don't like the way they do something, that's fine. You don't need to put them out here for everyone to see. Let's keep it respectful please. //friendlyreminder

I think that my meaning got lost in my last post, but it's pretty much this. There is no right or wrong as to how you play anything. Your Miqo is more hyur-like? That's cool (as long as there's reasoning behind it). Your Miqo is tribal and does the tribal thing? Awesome. The world needs all kinds to be fleshed out. You do your character how you want.

I've always mentioned Aly's ears and tail as if she were a cat, having done some of the same research as you. I know that her tail fluffs up if she's scared, her ears fold back and tail lashes if she's angry. Her fangs sometimes hang on her lip if she's feeling cheeky. I've never left her tongue sticking out like my cat does though...although I'm sure that that would lead to an interesting conversation with fellow characters. I know RPers who really work well with the other senses. Tessa Jalloh, for instance, is very good at incorporating scent into RP. Tessa keeps tabs on everyone's scent, asking fellow RPers what they think their character would smell like, and then keeps mental notes of that in case she encounters someone or whatnot. I've always looked at people who are able to do that in RP and be awed by it. It's such a cool quirk to have, and to be able to do it well is admirable.

I think that having cookie cutter roles for different races leads to a dull and dry sort of Eorzea. We want people who differ. We want people who go against the "norm" of their culture, because that causes conflict, and really, what are we as RPers if not drama mongers (just drama of our own making). Again, it's like saying that the sky, because it's the sky, is always blue. It's not. There are so many hues of orange, yellow, purple, gray, black....to ignore them, is to ignore the beauty of the sky as a whole.

Alothia steps out into the garden, the soft grass tickling the underside of her toes, making her smile softly. She watches as Sahji and Mhikaa tackle each other, moonlight flickering in the silvery tendrils of their hair, braided on opposite sides of their heads, mirror images in the cool of the eve. She sits at the small table and watches her girls play over the rim of her tea cup, a brew that Zanin had clued her into all those moons ago. On nights like this, she liked to remember them, those she had known before the Calamity, and after, and had been there on and off ever since. She curls the fingers of her right hand around the handle, and her left hand strays toward the papers in front of her. Letters, many of them, delivered by the Postmoogle over the past few suns. She reads them all, one by one, fingers sometimes tracing the quillmarks that her friends made. Lily. Eric. Kass. K'ajia. Nel. Each one malms away, but still close to her in heart. She closes her eyes and sighs at the end, letting the memories soak into her, envisioning the smile of Kass' little girl. The fierce growl of K'ajia as she taught the others of her tribe how to fight. Lily's stoic expression concealing so much more. She missed them. But this was...right... "Sahji, go get your father!" she calls to the young girl, who comes bouncing over to the table to plant a small rosebud of a kiss on her mother's cheek before running inside the house. She pauses and pulls Mhikaa's tail softly as she trails after her sister, a small fanged grin peeking at the corners of her lips. Twelve, Alothia thinks, It is finally over. There is peace. She looks up at the moon, and whispers a faint prayer of thanks to Memphina, before she stands and faces her husband. Peace. Both in and out.

Oi vey. This is something that people need to stop doing. Projecting OUR cultural norms onto our characters...is not cool. Just because you're not okay with it OOCly, doesn't mean that your character is against it. If it's a societal thing, then there needs to be an understanding that your character is probably not going to have a problem with it. Now, if you want to create a reasonable reason for your character to struggle with it, that's one thing. But simply saying that your character isn't okay with it....that's another thing entirely.

//magicadminhat Just a friendly reminder to please keep this thread to the discussion of Sultansworn RP. If you want to have discussions about your own character, please move it to it's own thread. Thanks! //returntoregularlyscheduleddiscussion
