If you look them up on http://xivdb.com you can see how much each costs. One interesting thing to note: You can get the wolf mount for apparently 1 MGP. But I don't know how accurate it is because it just came out today. You left off six zeroes. Fenrir mount is 1,000,000 GP. Yeah, they must have fixed it since I looked at it last. I was confused as to why it would be so low. lol

I am all in my feels right now. I was sitting at my desk when one of my students comes up to ask me a question. Somehow, another student starts calling to her across the room, and it is made known that said student isn't wearing underwear under her leggings. The only thing she said to me was, "Please don't tell my mom." I swear, I can't make this shit up.

I usually go with something like, "We're all Eorzean" or something along those lines. I try to adapt that with the setting, but yeah, it is something that I'm not really 100% sure on. I suppose that they're all semi-human races because they walk upright and have generally human characteristics. I did have to giggle thinking about this. "Oh, the hyuranity!"

Alothia Starkwood Apparently there is no direct meaning for the name Alothia. I simply liked the sound of it...made it up when I was playing stupid freeware games when I was about 13, and it's just a name that stuck with me ever since. I did find, however, the name Alophia, which is a type of Iris. It's funny, because it pretty much matches up with Aly's color scheme. That, and she's from Gridania, so plants and everything. Starkwood was something I came up with when starting the game. Knowing more about Aly's character now, I'd say that it definitely has roots in her past, the woods of her life being quite stark.

Yeah, already fixed it. lol

I've always pictured Aly as looking sorta like Drew Barrymore in the face.

What can I say about Nako'li? There is so much. He's just an all around fantastically nice guy. Always willing to lend a hand if you need it, or an ear if you want to talk. He's got an amazing accent. Seriously, ask him to talk for you. He's friendly and welcoming to everyone on the RPC. I heard he gave someone a Nana Bear minion which is super nice. I'm sure there's more, but I don't want to clutter up this post too much. ♥ You Nako!

^^^^^^^^ This. To be honest, I was kind of bummed out seeing how many new folks are having such a hard time getting RP rolling. While it's great that we're offering bits of advice here, I feel like we should also be thinking about how we can do more to help others out. We're not obligated to take in every single person that comes our way into our RP -- but that also doesn't mean we shouldn't adjust our behavior a little to help others find and get RP in our community. If it means just RPing in the Quicksand a little each week, or trying to greet one new person that you've never met before every once in a while -- what could it hurt? I'm currently slammed by work for the next four weeks, so it's hard for me to even manage to get RP for myself beyond a couple of hours on the weekends, but once I have sweet, sweet freedom, I would be down for collaborating with others on creating icebreakers or ways for others to enter the fold with less trouble. Thank you. As a community we should take a look at our cumulative behavior and see what we can do to fix it. It doesn't mean that we have to only do that. Sure, we all have our stories that we want to do with our friends. But including one more person here and there isn't going to kill anyone. And just because you don't see the problem doesn't mean it's not there. It means you're privileged. Hells, during 1.0, I was one of those people. Now, I'm finding it a little difficult to find my bearings sometimes, even though I know quite a few people. If you've got free time, make a point of trying to RP with someone you don't know. That's all this is asking.

I'm going to have to agree. He has not come off as a victim at all in this. Instead, the OP is simply throwing his story out there and seeing if he's the only one feeling this. As someone who does go out of their way to talk to people in the Quicksand, I can 100% tell you that his experiences are not limited to him. I don't think that this thread was unreasonable, and I think that people who are pushing his post off as something that he just isn't doing correctly or whatnot are ignoring the problem. There ARE people who RP who deliberately ignore other RPers. Is it everyone, no. But is it a noticeable portion, sure. I could tell you exactly who I got the cold shoulder from, on more than one occasion, but that doesn't help the situation either. I think threads like this are simply a call to action. We should be looking at this and thinking, "Damn, what can I do to help make sure this doesn't happen anymore," not looking at the OP and saying, "You're doing it wrong." That's exactly why people leave communities.

This has happened with me as well while in the Quicksand. I've had Alothia sit there and even comment on what people were doing, and they straight up ignore me. Other times, I've had her walk right up to someone and strike up a conversation (but that's really because it's in my character's personality to do that. I know not everyone can), and that seems to work best. But I've also been approached when I'm there by random people, and I'm totally okay with that. I think some groups just aren't as open to it as others. Anyroad, if you happen to see Alothia Starkwood out in the Quicksand looking like an idiot, feel free to walk up and engage in some RP. I'm almost always happy to quit whatever it is I'm doing at the time if it means RPs.

Update: So, we've gotten a few new recruits into our ranks (some into just the LS, others into the actual FC), and we're doing some nice community building RP. We've also got a couple of cool storylines going on right now, so if anyone is interested, go ahead and hit us up!

If you ever see Alothia hanging around the Quicksand, don't hesitate to talk to her. She'd be more than happy to chit chat and match you comment for comment. She enjoys a snarky challenge.

Honestly, if people are RPing in /say, I'd say go for it. If they don't want to be bothered, they'll usually do it in party chat. But if you're worried, why not just shoot them a /tell? Always a good way in case you're worried about it. ^^

Aldotsk is a fantastic little artist, and seems to be a nice person as well. I haven't seen anything negative come from her posts, and it seems like she'd be great to RP with. Hopefully I'll get a chance to run into her in game some time!
