1. It's good you hate racist people! I hate racist people too. Especially those elezen. They're super racist, all of them. Bigoted too. Screw elezen. Welcome and hope to hear more from you! <3
2. I have experience with this, so I can elaborate! The system will essentially lock any character that isn't your "main." When I first switched, all my characters were available to log in, but upon choosing one to log into, all the other ones instantly became locked. When I say locked, I mean... Really, really locked. You can't even save these characters' appearances or even delete them. They are instantly frozen in place, and can't be changed until you switch back to standard.
3. Kino and her husband are fictional characters. Kino and her husband are opposite genders. Kino and her husband are played by two separate people. These people are the same gender. These people do not posses sexualities where they would be attracted to each other in real life at all. These people do not care about the previous two lines because of the first line. The end.
4. I just gif-ified this existing video, because I thought it deserved to be made portable and more easily postable. Please enjoy. <3
5. As far as I can think (I'm no expert on lore, but whatever) this would be possible but not the norm. As far as I can tell, such a thing would most likely be the result of some dark magic (thinking along the lines of Tam-tara hard, but not quite as intense) and would be likely to make the average Eorzean quite uncomfortable to be around. But yeah. I'm not an expert, so don't take my sole word for it.
6. jk ilu bby let's not fite NEmore lets stay 2gether for the kids sake pls bby pls
7. I hope Balmung stays closed forever. Racist.
8. There's plenty of diversity depending on where you go, so if your heart's set on miqo'te, don't worry about it at all. Miqo'te is the most popular race, and it is noticeable, but it's not at the point where anyone is gonna groan and go "ugh, another miqo'te" or anything. On the other hand, I don't think there are nearly enough elezen at all...
9. The game actually had an autokick function shortly after launch but it was disabled once the launch rush died down. It was definitely a welcome addition at launch, where simply logging it was an enormous effort, becasue there was no queue system. You had to just keep trying, hoping someone had JUST logged off. People would log in in the early morning and just afk all day while at work/school so their character was waiting for them ready to go once they go back. It was a madhouse. Given the current state of character creation, I wouldn't be against it being implemented again, even if it's just on Balmung and other nearly-always closed servers. Even a few extra minutes of character creation being opened would be worth it for all the people waiting.
10. Prostitute Soulgem, here I come.
11. Ah, that's good to know and very interesting! Obviously there are things that would not make sense/be frowned upon (a "white mage" soul gem just being passed down in the family would make a lot of people scoff, I'm sure) but a character simply possessing some non-denominational combat-oriented soulgem passed down from their great-great-grandpappy seems like it wouldn't be too odd. Conversely, a character holding onto to one for the express purpose of it becoming a family heirloom would be neat too.
12. In that sense would it be plausible for someone to carry "blank" crystals to be passed on to their lineage? Or, for the sake of my own curiosity, even sold? How hard would it be to obtain a crystal for this purpose?
13. Yep. There's a big difference, I think, between being able to us/simply owning a gun and being an engineer capable of building a flying turret. I'd be all for meeting a character that does do that, but in my particular case, simply owning/carrying the gun would be all I'd aspire to for now.
14. If there's one thing I've learned about playing a lalagirl out in the open... It's the the elezen guys love us. I dunno why that is.
15. I'm all for characters being above the bar in strength, but I can't say I've seen anything to suggest that dodging bullets would be something any mortal character could do. Quite the opposite: NPCs get hit by ALL the projectiles. The one time a bullet was "dodged" was due to a hasty shot that simply missed its mark. Final Fantasy this game may be but most people here don't like the "anime fight simulator" style that many are so fond of.
16. I think the only thing stopping them would be ingrained culture (assuming a tribal lifestyle) and sleeping schedules (assuming they are slaves to their biology). Other than that no issues!
17. I don't think they frequent these forums, but my wiki contains a few pieces of art of Kinono done by a couple FC mates/friends! [/shamelessplug]
18. *the person who plays the pregnant lala begins sobbing and walking off into the sunset*
19. I find the fact that most people tend to disregard the MSQ in regards to story but still rely on it for reference of flow of time interesting and confusing. I'd definitely argue that in-game events are more reliable a reference, since we've been told that at least a year has already passed according to them, and the only thing we've gotten from the MSQ is vagueness, but alas.
20. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
21. Yeah. I wouldn't say that technically. There's a difference between "limit" and "restriction." When character creation is restricted they're saying "the world is currently too active." It's a very soft cap and is eligible to change. That's the bouncer outside "da club" that only lets "hot chicks" in. If you say there's a limit that's the fire marshal driving over, telling you you're at capacity and to shut it down, because legally or physically, no one else will fit in the building. Orrrrrrrrrr they could be lying to cover their butts just in case your transfer fails for some reason. Either way!
22. Sadly this is still common enough in-game that I run into it at least once a week it seems. There are a few workarounds, but sadly there's no way to know what exact character combination prompts the filter most of the time. 1) As Freelance said, re-word it. Sadly this requires you to typically recognize that a message has been lost to begin with, so it can still put a damper on your rhythm. 2) (not always possible, but) Paste the message into a third-party program/site. If you have the means to send a message to your partner another way, be it steam, skype, whatever, and you don't feel like re-wording, post it there. Barring a chat program, you can use a site like pastebin as well, but PlayStation users will have a hard time following links either way. 3) Bookend every post with a simple little symbol. This assumes you are in a relatively uncrowded place, or RPing over private chat channels to make sure you're not spamming the everloving crap out of innocent bystanders, but if you've made a post you're worried the game may have eaten, send something like "<3" or "done" in a separate message by itself to make sure your partner knows that they were meant to have received something.
