Kinono

We've had our first little void-hunting excursion successfully today! Save for a few bumps, bruises, minor burns, and the regrettable loss of two eyebrows, we were triumphant!

This may be a question that's been asked before so if it has, forgive me! I've always roleplayed my character as having a decent amount of knowledge in arcanima, however I've never actually had to roleplay it out or describe it in combat scenarios. The most I've ever really done is the odd Physic or carbuncle jumping forward to defend her. However, through my own volition, I've been taking Kinono down a more combat-oriented path lately and I'm sure sooner rather than later I'll be in this very situation. Even from an in-universe perspective, I get the sense that, save for the Ruins and the carbuncles themselves, arcanima takes place on a largely unseen level, inflicting varying levels of ailment and sickness on enemies. Arcanists roleplayers of RPC! How do you describe your spells happening in combat scenarios?! Non-arcanist roleplayers! How would you describe them?! (For simplicity's sake, let's say all these "combat scenarios" are happening with NPC's. I'm looking more for writing advice, not etiquette advice. I know alllllll about consent.)

I'm been roleplaying in this game for over two years at this point, and only recently had an incredibly sad thing happen to my character. Up to that point, it'd been mostly fun times, silly adventures, and romance. The sad thing hit hard. It was the best roleplay I've ever had.

Yes. I laughed. -Watches as another rock flies across the screen.- It was for me? I guess how I can see it being slower than the average. Just do low level roulette. It'll pop in <5 mins. It's not that it's slow, it's that it's boring. In the low level dungeons there is practically nothing to heal, and what little there is, arcanist and thaumaturge can cross-class all your utility away, and by the way, your DPS is near worthless. It's not fun because you may as well just not be there until ~level 30.

I am guilty of ignoring emotes directed at me... But only ICly. Sometimes I'll be spending time around other RPers but not be IC myself. I have my search info set to say "please send a tell for RP" specifically because currently there are a lot of places where I may end up that Kino would not be ICly. I've been approached in this way before and am good about typically sending a tell and explaining that and attempting to arrange something else. That's all just me though. I can't say I've had such bad luck with being ignored so I can't offer much help on how to fix it. D:

I dunno. In my mind, with MMO games, RPG games, what have you, you can name it whatever you want, but restrictions of any kind like that are a little stupid. There's really no reason a character can't simply buy any given item from a lore perspective (barring the obvious items, of course). There's people in Ul'dah who flat-out tell you "yeah, you can buy pretty much anything here." This item in question is literally just some generic leather long-sleeve jacket with a few flavor items placed on it. I understand why it has to happen from a mechanics perspective, but from any other perspective, it comes off as stupid.

*sighs and hangs up*

...Breath of Fire 6 being a mobile feels like such a kick in the shins, don't it? The first new game in the franchise in over a decade... And Capcom makes it an iPhone game.

If I can pop this baby out of Kino before Heavansward drops I'd love to RP there! And really, if not before, then soon after is just fine. Kinono is an avid adventurer after all, and she's gonna want to go where there's work.

Ahh... I can see it now... SE caves and decides to "make character creation as easy as logging in," but wait! Something is lost in translation! Suddenly people have to wait until 4 in the morning to log in, going afk while at work or school during the day, clogging up the server, making the entire world seem a ghost town. "But this is what you wanted!" cries SE. "Not like this," we collectively whimper. "No, not like this." Just like launch... fun times.

Kino is pregnant! First child is most likely going to be a girl. She's not wanna go through pregnancy again unless her husband REALLY pushes it, because being so idle has her miserable.

As an aside, but aren't RP server in WoW official, and labelled as such? It's been a long time since I've played WoW (a long, long, long time) but I remember reading when the menu first came up to pick a server that lore-abiding names were expected and not having one would actually get you a talking-to by a GM. Was that not the case? More to-topic: There's a big difference between an official RP server and Balmung, an unofficial one, which might I add wasn't even an RP server to begin with. It was just a plain ol' regular server that got merged with the server that happened to be the other unofficial RP server in 1.0.

Polite persistence pays when pontificating with Pepita and post. Perhaps purchased products will be present post-haste.

Casually requesting a "attempted repression" option. But yeah. Murder and drinking. And though it's not really a sin, she feels guilty about having falling in love and gotten intimate a couple times much too quickly earlier in her life.

The ony difference between this and selling runs is it crosses a real-world line which must be what gets SE in a tizzy because they're fine with run-selling. Then again, nothing would stop someone from paying real-world money for runs which seems even worse to me but that's neither here nor there.

To clarify: SE is against the explicit trade of in-game earned things for real-world items. The casino mini-game is just /random and betting, which doesn't impact the real world. The hide-and-seek tournaments are similar. SE got their first grey area over this with the Bond bracelets but they figured it wasn't a big enough deal to do anything about. Well, nothing but a "could u not."
