  1. ...Now I'm actually really surprised and sad and confused that I've never had a miqo'te lick Kino's hair like she's a little mewling kitten.
  2. The rolling of the r's that you see in some miqo'te portrayals and accents could be mistakenly identified as purring, it could be argued. Though... I guess that would be assuming your character verbally goes "rrrrrrrr" when pleased. Also, unless coeurl mannerisms are common knowledge wouldn't the entire concept of "purrs" be unfamiliar territory? ( All that said, and not to be too judgy but I've seen like, three too many miqo'te emote as having scratchy tongues. Not that I have any quote to dispute the biology, but it is probably a detail I need not know thank you ;_; ) EDIT: Oh snap, I actually did not know this definition. Disregard my post.
  3. Oof. This seems like too nice a topic to designate to just miqo'te... But I digress. One of my favorite miqo'te RPers is very tribal and expressive with it and I tend to like that. He bristles when meeting other males, is restless when sitting still, flicks his ears/tail/body parts around, will emote when he smells anything unfamiliar (and is careful to avoid godmodding it). I like it because it's unique to my experience, and conveys very well the quintessential lonely male Keeper experience. That's all I got I think.
  4. *raise hand, passionately and powerfully* THEY TOOK OUR JOBS.
  5. That's why I play lalafell exclusively in first-person, though.
  6. ...I would have to retcon SO MUCH. I find the phsyical features of lalafell (besides the height and rotundness, obviously) are much harder to convey. Unless the brightness of the sun is specifically brought up, I'm gonna have a hard time working protective eye film gracefully into my emotes. I do abide by the typical hatred of cold and even the occasional flight of superstition, but those are more racial personality quirks than physical features.
  7. As sad as I am to admit it, there are times where I'm much lazier in RP than others, and times where I'm just more inspired. I don't RP a miqo'te currently, but even as just a short, fat kid, there are times when I'm much more explicit with Kino's mannerisms in /em than others, so it's definitely not something I'd begrudge a miqo'te player for leaving out. I imagine it'd get tiring re-iterating and re-establishing "yes, I am a miqo'te" all the time, and, to be honest, there's a chance it'd be just as tiring to read.
  8. :love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love:
  9. I happen to know from my time on reddit and seeing plenty of "which server should I join" threads that quite a few people who aren't RPers, at least those that are shopping around, tend to recognize Balmung as the RP server. Some non-RPers even mention it as a plus in such threads as giving a bit more ambiance to the game, and even, making us a bit nicer and more relaxed when it comes to end-game. Course, as mentioned, some people would see those as all negatives. Takes all types, after all.
  10. That's what the usual log-in queue is for, isn't in? Or am I misunderstanding...?
  11. I know this isn't original at all, but here it is.
  12. I can't say for sure, but I imagine Balmungs population, if smaller, is a bit more global and therefor on "around the clock" causing us to fail that "is the server dead enough" check. Off-topic, but I love your avatar. My lala here was named after Kino and her chcocobo is named Hermes and I'm the type of person that is normally really against naming characters after anime too. Absolutely fantastic show.
  13. It seems we'd probably be on around the same times, I think! Kino doesn't stray too far from the Goblet/Ul'dah currently due to... physical limitations, but if that would work for you, feel free to send me a tell!
  14. I dunno about public events but I know there are quite a few active EU FCs.
  15. Kinono.Kino (with a picture of my lalafell) For anyway who wants to build their collection of contacts that aren't spambots.
  16. This is a fun idea and you should definitely do it! Imagine all the different reactions you could get from people who wouldn't be familiar or suspicious of the technology! J-just don't get your camera broken. Some people may try to do that.
  17. Ooh, I was just about to start looking for something/someone like this! Thank you!
  18. If you don't want to look at them at all, you can always type It will bring up the same information without the need to target.
  19. The big day! And silly OoC bonus round:
  20. 1. Does the game have word bubbles now? Nope! 2. If there are no word bubbles, how do you RP comfortably? Are there addons? Nope! Most people use a comination of the search message feature to tag themselves as an RPer, and/or this site and the accompanying wiki. It's not as simple as MyRP or anything, of course, but I certainly wouldn't say it's uncomfortable. 3. Is there dueling in the game? No and yes. No, there's no simple way to do it, and it's pretty impossible to really do it in any way condusive to RPing, but you can reliably get the same 8 players together to fight if you queue for Wolves' Den at the same time. 4. What's the FFXIV RP community's general approach to settling in-character conflicts? Most people talk it out OoCly or just let the IC play itself out. I don't seem to notice a whole lot of conflicts revolving around this. Most people are totally willing to lose or win, depending on the situation. Some people do use dice rolls, but I don't believe that it's relied upon very heavily. 5. On the same note as the previous question, is it possible to setup RP in PvP? Or is all PvP restricted to strictly controlled PvP instances akin to battlegrounds, with timers/lack of chat channels/other restrictions? Not even slightly, see above. It's all instanced, and on timers. If you were able to get 8 people together and wanted to queue for Wolves' Den as two seperate parties, in MIGHT work. But that's a big MIGHT.
  21. One thing I find a lot of people don't notice is that lalafell heads are actually larger than most other races' heads, despite the smaller body size. If you take my lala and any miqo'te (you know, just for example, but it applies most places. I haven't personaly compared myself to any roegadyn) and put their heads side-by-side, the difference is very noticeable. One time, ICly, (and there may be some here who could remember this ) someone asked Kinono's husband about the size of lalafell babies, and he pointed to the mammet minion I had summoned for reference. While there's no way of knowing these things for sure, honestly looking at the thing, and comparing the proportions, it seems like it's be a fair assumption for an on-the-spot guess.
  22. You could just as easily post the quote in the main storyline quests regarding a particular Roe's manhood not being all too impressive. :^) ((Edited to include said quote))
