I've had a little go using the Clubs section to upload my own LS and here are my thoughts: - I think using Clubs is a neat idea, especially the fact you can have your own little gallery, events, blog, etc. Provides useful utility without having to go make your own FC/LS website or something. But can we rename them to something else? Clubs is kinda random, calling it Groups maybe? - More filters would be great, having a URL section for a website, maybe a link for tumblr/social medias? RP intensity % is also useful. Perhaps pre-determined tags so you can list your company/linkshell themes? Also maybe a filter to choose whether it's an OOC group, IC group, discord groups, etc. - When selecting a server, when selecting Other, I feel an input field should appear so you can type in the server name. - IIRC, the Club is automatically marked as inactive upon creation - the default should probably be Active, no? - I could only upload the icon, but not the banner when creating the Club. Also would be nice to have some clearer instructions to what size the icons/banners should be (200x200 or something clearer than just image size.) - I couldn't select both FC and LS. This option is available on the old site, but you still end up with two separate posts to manage. Having just one post that covers the LS and FC would be great. Again, not sure if possible with this club feature. - Description box is a little lacking, would be nice to have the same editing tools that forum posts have if that makes sense? Perhaps not so in depth, but being able to hyperlink, bold, italicise text easily would be useful. - Trying to put up an event - I am unsure of what timezone I'm putting it up as (Is it my timezone I assigned my account, or is it set the same for everyone?), and the location setting is literally address input fields. I really like the look and feel of the Clubs though, I think FCs and LSs could really benefit from this set up. Also, I like hovering over a user's icon and having their info pop up with options to message, etc. That's a cute little feature. Sorry if this a lot, I feel like I'm writing tickets... "As a User, I wish to select blah blah blah"

Hi! Imma just write a bunch because I've encountered this problem before and this is how I combat it! 1) Reasons aren't that hard to come by with a little creativity - Unless your character is chained up in a basement or something, I think it is actually pretty easy to come up with some sort of reason to be at a certain place or talk to a certain person. Maybe your character can seek out a friend for a conversation to gain feedback on the predicament he's currently in. Or maybe he has a couple evenings free and like you said he needs to go and relax because boy, whatever he is doing is a lot of work! To give an example, my character (involved in a heavy plot but I had an RP itch to scratch and no one online scenario) has gone to meet with an 'informant' (aka someone I literally just made up for sake of plot) but they haven't turned up. In an effort to kill time, my character chats to other characters whilst he waits or maybe asks if they have seen the informant. It works, and I have an excuse to do tavern RP for two to three hours. 2) Alt characters - I'm a pretty heavy RPer, and have several characters in and out of plots. If a character is tied up in something, I can simply switch to another one that is free and can waltz down to the Quicksand for the sweet RP action. RPing an alt character can also help refresh your RP writing - sometimes being stuck with a certain personality or plot can be very draining, and switching to something different can be a nice reboot. Alt characters stop me from burning out on my main, for instance. Of course, if you're a one-man band sort of person, or you got the itch to RP a certain character, this may not work for you. 3) Alternative Universes or Time Bubbles - For the situation I just mentioned above, where you really just want to RP that one character, I recommend using AUs or Time Bubbles. Maybe you have an RP buddy that you want to establish a pre-existing connection with? Like a childhood friend or an ex-lover. By using the magic of time bubbles, you can RP shit that happened in the past. AUs can also be fun! Something to be taken casually, probably, since you don't want to upset what is actually happening to your character in their main scenario. For example, I'm RPing an AU where my main character still lives with his tribe. It's a one-to-one very casual RP, but it's fun and nice to do whilst my main character is stuck in his FC house at the moment. If you do any of these, make sure to communicate with your RP partners what you and your character are up to. In past experiences, if you are getting a lot of RP and they are not, it can feel a bit disjointed and make your partner feel out of the loop if your character has had so much development in a short space of time in comparison to theirs. Careful planning of when you will next RP your plot related stuff will also help, instead of it being a big "Huh, wonder if we'll actually manage to RP this week" kinda thing. If you schedule your RP and plot, you can plan around it so you can actually feel your character has a life and isn't trapped. Also, Discord/Skype/Google Doc RP is the best for RPing with someone with a wonky schedule! I hope this ramble helps!

Oh, so it is! ^ Seconding this advice! I know a few RPers on Lich, it's a smaller community but at least it's open. Omega has a large EU RP community. Only way to find out what you would prefer is to make an alt and try it out as Gegenji said.

Omega is your best bet for EU RP, next being Lich! Is there a reason you can't transfer to Omega?

I don't quite remember where I heard this or if it was documented somewhere or just pure fanon... but what I recall hearing is that the "base" race of the crossbreed is that of the mother, with some traits inherited from the father's side. So a M Roe/F Elezen offspring would look mostly like an Elezen, except possibly more stocky and/or having some Roegadyn features. And, vice versa, a M Elezen/F Roe child would be mostly Roe but possibly ganglier and/or having features like a longer neck or slightly pointed ears. Something to that effect, anyway. 2nd person who's said this so I'm starting to believe it's a real thing. Then the question is just how much of something someone gets. If it's a male miqo'te and a female au ra.... They're an Au ra with miqo'te ears?... or tail?... or... ._. I don't really know how to go about this lol. Most other races get away with the ear thing or something but in situations like this, I wonder what to do. I'll put some of my findings under a spoiler cut since this from HW/SB questlines: So, I'd imagine a miqo'te/au ra child to either look almost like one of the races, perhaps Au Ra horns, tail and scales but has the slit pupils of a Seeker miqo'te, or a miqo'te with limbal rings or something. It's never just a 50% mix it seems from the evidence provided.

The only general RP discord I know of is the EU Balmung group. Otherwise, the other discord channels I am in are from my FC and LSs, and more niche ones which I can't really recommend for the purpose of finding contacts. May I ask why you don't wish to look into Linkshells or FCs? That's the first place I would look for heavier roleplay. A lot of them use discord for communication and RP when members aren't in game, so that may be an avenue you want to explore.

We've all been enjoying Stormblood, many of us are leveling the heck out of samurai and red mage, whilst others focus on their gathering and crafting classes. We've been dabbling in the new Primal Extremes and running Omega together, so much PvE! Now that completing the MSQ is over for most people, we're getting back into the roleplay aspect of our linkshell, and boy, do we have some stuff lined up. In the next month or two, we'll be starting a couple of heavy plotlines for our members to sink their teeth into. In the meanwhile, we've been plotting revenge, stabbing each other, exploring many caves, and of course bullying their glorious leader, just to name a few. Another small update! Z'ohji Tia, Rhako'a Sahri and Mikh'a Zinhe are now retired characters. Might bring Z'ohji back at a later date and he's available for Discord RP! New alts (because I have a problem) include: A'ayzi Tia and Riki Kaneuchi. I have some smaller alts that still need to have a more solid backstory established before beginning to RP them. Mainly focusing on FC RP for now until Stormblood hype calms down. IRL stuff is keeping me pretty busy so apologies if I'm not the best at setting some RP up!

If someone is giving you a rough time and unnecessary criticism regarding lore, and will not let up when told politely it's fine or whatever, they're probably not the best roleplayer to interact with. Speaking even as a lore friendly roleplayer, no one should be telling you what to name your character at the end of the day. It's your choice and it ain't cheap to change. You picked a doman-sounding name for a doman character, so you didn't do bad at all. If they don't like it, they can just go on their way instead of filling you with doubt when you've already asked second or third opinions.

Omega housing wards seem to be filling slowly but surely... So if you're an FC waiting on the FC transfer thing, you might want to purchase a personal house to keep the plot you want on hold. It will cost you twice the money, but a guarantee of the plot you want (and definitely cheaper than buying it off someone else!). This is what I've seen recommended in relevant discord channels. ^^/
