Bumping, we're still open for recruitment for both the linkshell and FC~!

I gotta say... I'm quite shallow. Most of the time it's based on looks. Whether it's a pretty or unique/uncommon character model, or a neat looking outfit, you got my attention. Then I might have a quick look at their search info and FC. I only really look at wikis if it's someone I've heard of before and particularly interested in or if I'm unsure how to approach. Sending a tell is usually how I go forward. Also, I'll walk up if someone's already roleplaying and it's actually interesting. It's sometimes rare since I get a little bored by generic "I'm an adventurer from Ul'dah! What's your name?" tavern chatter. If someone's roleplay is entertaining to read and there's a definite hook for my character to get involved, you bet your arse I'll walk up, or at least send a friend request and ask for roleplay sometime later.

And I wrote one back, heh. I'm online right now on Oyuu if anyone wanted to get in touch! Gonna be running a few dailies but will be hanging about once done with those~

Forced at first to operate underground by the social climate, their meetings took place beneath the cloak of night, behind locked doors. As generations passed, and memory of the Great Flood faded, the Order became bolder but never stepped fully from the shadows. They exist today as a whisper uttered only under moonlight. Their hand is invisible but ever present. Wherever magic is abused, or promising mages require guidance, the agents of Ouroboros travel. And in this age of Primals and war, their presence is needed. Modern Incarnation Today the Ouroboros exist as a secret society. Each of its members carries an enchanted item, of which no two are alike. These magical trinkets function like linkpearls, allowing the owner to communicate with the greater network of associates. With the use of primal and other esoteric magicks, becoming more widespread in recent times, the purview of Ouroboros has expanded beyond simply safeguarding magic. They now hunt and destroy unstable elements, investigate mysterious happenings of a magical nature, and secure assets that might serve to facilitate the group’s goals. 1. Have you killed your character before? I haven't, but I've had a roleplay partner kill their character that mine was romantically involved with, so I can give a little insight to what happened with the characters that had to deal with the person's death. 2. How did your friends take it? Basically, before our characters even held hands, my roleplay partner at the time informed me OOCly he was killing off his character come Heavensward to race change to an Au Ra. This was six months??? before the release of the expansion, so he basically gave me an out if I wasn't interested in roleplaying a romantic relationship with a character that will die. I chose to keep RPing with him, we basically worked together to create a story arc that would lead to his death in a satisfying way that would give good character development (my character never had a person he knew die on him before, and then there was the task of getting revenge on his lover's murderer, just for example.) We informed FC friends and those who RPed with us as we went along that this was going to happen so they could choose to get involved or not, and there was only a few joking tears luckily. Roleplaying it was fine, but there was an issue later with the player missing his deceased character and wanting to play him again, despite it being impossible to have him revived, so please take this into consideration. Are you truly fine with killing your character off? Because it's pretty irreversible and you'll piss everyone off by retconning a shitload or coming up with a bogus excuse of why he's back. 3. Would you not want to RP with someone who may unceremoniously kill off their character? Why? Not really. I've had a few other friends who just completely written off a character several times because they did not like them, they were problematic, etc. without informing the FC they were in or the people they RPed with. This especially hurt when I took time to roleplay with their character, hours of chatting and getting to know them, then the next day I find out they were no longer present in the living world. How do I and my character even react to that? Do I just retcon knowing them at all, or should my character be worried they have gone missing? I stopped roleplaying seriously with those players because I couldn't be bothered getting to know a character then having them disappear without a word and having to mourn another 'death'. Like most roleplay things, OOC communication is key. Get in touch with those people your character is well acquainted with, your FC and roleplay linkshells and let them know what's up. Do you know the reasons why people are hesitant you're killing off your character possibly? Are they afraid of you not RPing with them any longer when you roll your new character? Some people just don't like roleplaying sad shit, and someone dying is really sad. But, it's your character at the end of the day so do what makes you happy even if it involves murder, you have every right to say "well this happened, so tough shit."

To me, they're just... clothes? Nothing special about them or 'snowflakey' unless specifically stated. Most roleplayers I run with don't allow their in game class, job or level dictate what their character is allowed to wear. If you like it, and your character looks good in it, go for it.

A lots been going on within the Order of Ouroboros, a bunch of new faces have joined our ranks and we've settled into our new headquarters comfortably. Hi folks, we had a bunch of people interested in joining the linkshell which is great! We're currently working on getting those members introduced to the Order of Ouroboros and ready to partake in our activities. Just bumping as we are now looking to recruit FC members more so than linkshell members just to help bolster our ranks and create a solid base for our company. Oh but you can! Joining the FC is not a mandatory thing, it'd be nice, sure and you get a nice easy teleport to our house, but being a member of the linkshell you have all the same priviledges and access to roleplay. The secret society is based on using the linkshell to communicate so, yeah, being just a LS member is totally fine. If finding time to roleplay along with your FC activities is difficult, then I understand. Thanks for the reply!

Hi Lutra! Order of Ouroboros takes mages of all abilities, as long as they have the right attitude and an eagerness to learn how to use magick and aether responsibly. We already have a few students amongst our ranks, so your character would be taught along with them, plus she would be able to ask the more experienced mages for help/tutoring and use the plentiful resources (tomes, research, etc.) at hand too.
