  1. A horse walks into a bar. It is confused and terrified, as it is a horse. The bartender and several patrons try to help the horse out of the bar. It knocks over several tables on the way out and trots off into the city street, causing an accident as a car brakes abruptly to avoid hitting it and gets rear-ended. The patrons of the bar call the police and animal control services as there is a horse loose in the city and a traffic accident has just occurred.
  2. [video=youtube] Oh, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now.
  3. OH DOES SHE NOW?! Clearly Dogberry does too.
  4. Djarum black clove cigarettes, coffee, and "Empires" by VNV Nation. Makes me feel like I'm a teenager again.
  5. That eyebrow game is strong.
  6. Look, I won't deny it's gruesome to behold, but think of it as getting your fortune told during a trip to the butcher. Hells, I may even pull out the grinder and make some sausage if you're lucky.
  7. runes? *perks up* i'm up for that and i know eric would want to as well. I'm actually WAY more adept at reading runes than tarot cards. I spent some time with some Asatru peeps who taught me. I need a guide for tarot, but I do not need one with runes. And still, nobody interested in haruspex. Pity.
  8. I should also add that Iskierka has offered rune readings, casting bones, and one occasion reading entrails, but nobody has taken her up up on the offer. Tarot is just popular, I guess.
  9. Did you ever see that documentary about Darkon? Yes, I have. I have a lot of friends in it. No, I'm not in it. The documentary was shot before I joined, and I ended up joining a nation that refused to sign the release forms and filed for copyrights on all of their stuff in order to avoid being in the film. All in all, I'd say it was a smart move. I don't think the documentary was bad per se, but much of what happened there was done for the benefit of the cameras. It isn't so much a documentary as an improvised amateur drama with larpers for actors. Danny's (A.K.A. "Cardboard") scenes make me cringe. I feel they exploited him unfairly. He certainly should have known better than to bare himself on camera like that, but the filmmakers recorded several days worth of footage for each subject. It's clear they used footage that fit the way they wanted to portray the "characters". I think Danny and Beckie got it the worst. I think they tried to portray Beckie as an escapist who resented her lot in life, but that really is far from the truth. I saw the documentary before I joined, because to an outsider it really does make the actual game look fun, even if the game is full of kooks. And don't get me wrong, Darkon has its share of kooks, but when I see the documentary now, I don't concentrate on how fun the game looks anymore, I see the attempts to portray a lot of people I've come to know and regard as good friends as a freak show.
  10. I LARP as well! Spent some years doing Full Contact stuff in Darkon. Mostly do Dystopia Rising now, but I'm looking for some fantasy stuff because... hey. I have all this viking gear, you know? Might as well use it.
  11. [video=youtube]https://youtu.be/fC20nRg4ptQ This is the only song on my mind right now.
  12. I HIGHLY recommend watching Avatar with the Rifftrax commentary. It is pure comedy gold.
  13. Yeah, I definitely think if we got a bunch of us together and held events we could serve people that want their fortunes told with the time and attention needed to make for fun RP without feeling rushed or having to let people down. I know when I've done it I've always been disappointed that I've had to leave people out. I certainly don't like letting people down. Plus, even with the fine folks of Soliloquy managing front of house, the sheer amount of people and work doing every reading and coming up with something for everyone was actually pretty mentally exhausting. It's why I haven't done another event. I want to cool my heels a little bit because it's a lot of work. I think we can divide this labor pretty easily.
  14. MOST DEFINITELY People are often surprised that I play Iskierka.
  15. I should mention that my previous post was Dogberry's reaction... Iskierka would awkwardly try to befriend one, most likely by asking one for a tissue sample.
  16. No, I mean DBZ: Abriged, the fandub series that cuts DBZ down and makes it hilarious.
  17. I've done IC tarot readings, as well. Most of it has been for large groups of people waiting. I've done three card spreads, mostly one card draws for brevity, and a full "star" formation for the few sessions where I had the time. I do actually have the cards, and I do "real" readings. I intend to host more events with Iskierka telling fortunes, but planning and logistics keeps me from making it a regular thing. If we band together, we can probably host larger events for people. All I know is, every time I've offered tarot readings IC, I have been completely overrun by people, and have spent hours doing one-card readings because that is all I've had time for. It's always been a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work and I usually spend hours trying to organize people and trying to balance giving personal attention to people who came to the event and trying to make sure I see as many people as possible. Speaking of which, Clio, I owe you a reading. Bug me on Dogberry and I'll switch over to Iskierka for you. As for the actual RP, while Iskierka is a witch and does actually do magic, she will admit that any claims of her being an "oracle" are merely for entertainment purposes, and that she does not actually see the futures. She admits that while cards do have specific meanings, they are broad enough that she can apply them to any situation on the spot, and that what she's really doing is reading people and telling them what they need to hear. When pressed about her readings being her just stating the obvious, her defense is that most people don't really want to hear obvious common sense, so she dresses it up as mysticism and most people seem more willing to accept it.
  18. "Come have a drink, y'horny devil, it's on me. It'll help pass th'time. Day's been dragon on, hasn't it?"
  19. How's the view from that high chocobo of yours?
  20. Congrats to Barnabaix for the win! I had a lot of fun last night.
  21. The gameplay was pretty simple and had some seriously generic puzzles. So much so that I'd really hesitate to call then "puzzles". Burn:cycle is a game I'm fond of, but admit it's a pretty bad game. It just had that 1990's cyberpunk style that I adore. I would hope anyone who remakes the game puts more emphasis on the investigation elements.
  22. Dogberry and Stormwind can hook you up. They've been digging around with stuff like that lately.
  23. X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter! Wing Commander! Uplink! BURN:CYCLE! DOES ANYONE REMEMBER BURN:CYCLE? It was a 1995 supercheese cyberpunk adventure game with a plot that was basically Johnny Mnemonic with a transhuman bend. As cyberpunk is my absolute favorite genre of all time ever, I have a very real soft spot for this game. With Telltale championing the adventure game, I'd LOVE a cyberpunk game like this to come back.
