  1. UPDATE: We are now actively recruiting! If you're looking for a good group of people for everything from RP to PVE to just fun chatting OOC, we're your group! IC: If you need an IC reason to come speak with us, we have a tavern and inn (Wanderer's Lantern) we need staff for and a merc group that needs to be rounded out. Maybe you've seen a flyer... heard of our mercs (The Tonberries)... had a rather lovely and persuasive courtesan point you our way... Whatever the case may be, come on down and see who we are! Our members can usually be found RPing in the tavern (Lavender Beds, Ward 1, Plot 38) or at/around the Quicksand. Feel free to check out our website at tonberrytradingtroupe.enjin.com or contact Ereshkigal Atropos (I can also be found on Adelina Lee), W'sano Bajihri or Zarana Bajihri for more information.
  2. If you're looking for a "job" to start, the Wanderer's Lantern is hiring staff. We have many a skilled merc (both magic based and weapon based) who are housed in the inn itself. There is also the brothel owning proprietress and a healer/business woman co-owner. We're doing one of our RP nights at the tavern (FC house) tomorrow night if you'd like to drop by and feel it out. We always welcome RP from anyone and everyone. The inn (house) is located in Lavender Beds, Ward 1, Plot 38. Feel free to stop by. My two character's names are Ereshkigal Atropos (the healer) and Adelina Lee (the brothel owner). Feel free to hit me up in game for RP at any time even if you've found a mentor.
  3. RP Question: Are there those out there that can actually read/translate Allagan script? The assumption is there must be yet at the same time a lot of the stuff you see on the Allagan is all mystical and no one knows anything. So, lore wise, would it make sense that a scholar/archaeologist would be able to read/translate the Allagan language?
  4. We got our house (Lavender Beds, Ward 1, Plot 38)! Thanks to all of our members for working hard and to Corbi Slater for finding a seller! "Come one, come all! Prop up your feet, grab an ale and enjoy tonight's entertainment and each other's company. If you really like it here, rent a room and stay a while. The Wanderer's Lantern is now open for business!"
  5. Eresh has a couple of them... Black magic: She's great to have around if you need a campfire... or need one put out as she can't produce ice to save her soul. She tried for years to no avail even with the help of her best friend who could, and has, blown up many a block in various towns that will remain unnamed. Eresh... yeah, her skills are laughable. Metaphors and hints: You have to be very upfront with Eresh as she takes things literally. She won't read into anything and doesn't understand colorful references. (This is also a 'me' flaw. I don't see hints or understand metaphors so I can't play a character that does. I think I drive Nathan crazy sometimes because he has to explain a lot of what he says to me. ) Being social: She's not that great at it actually. She can talk to anyone about business, products and reclamation but get her in a situation where she has to be social about anything else and she tends to be rather quiet, observing and listening rather than piping up and directing the conversation.
  6. I named my main's Trajan because I love the name and Trajan was a Roman emperor, one focused on expanding the empire. I play a character with a love of adventuring and seeking out new places so I thought it fit to have her chocobo named that. Adelina's chocobo... I'll be honest, I did it to be funny. I want to dye it flamingo pink, or as someone pointed out to me the color of cooked shrimp, so as a joke I decided to call it Gumbo. I wouldn't change it for anything now because in some sick way it's kind of funny to have a shrimp colored giant chicken getting fattened up to become... gumbo.
  7. I love these kinds of threads! I am a mythology whore so a lot of my names come from mythology or ancient civ. Ereshkigal is the Sumerian Goddess of the Underworld and Destruction. Her last name is Atropos which was one of the three Greek Fates who, when her sister chose a person's thread to cut, she would choose the manner of death and cut the person's life thread. My character is the complete opposite of that as she's a healer (*cough* I have never used it as a torture devise*cough*Aaron you remember nothing*cough*) but I couldn't resist. It's one of my favorite names. Adelina comes from my nonna's name Adeline. I just love that variation and since the character is a lalafell... she fit the short, stocky build of the Bianchini genetics so I had to.
  8. I'll be watching for open slots. I'd love to have a couple of these made! So cute!
  9. I think Eresh would freak out if she found herself pregnant. She has a wild streak and isn't ready for something like that but at the same time I think she'd make an excellent parent. She has a very supportive family structure and a wonderful childhood to pull from. Adelina... Yeah... Umm... no. She doesn't even want a spouse and let alone children. Her businesses are her babies and that's good enough for her. Besides, who wants a child running around a brothel? Brannie is sterile so that's not even an option. She's come to terms with it, or as much as one can, and tends to focus on her work instead. Each piece that comes out of her shop is like a little baby... that she can send home to it's new parents and she is free to go out and have a blast wherever and with whomever she chooses.
  10. Eresh glances up from her notes, eyes scanning the current postings before doing a double take upon a particularly odd one. Squinting her eyes, she reads it over twice, noting the two crossed out sections. "Someone must really like nophica green..." She mutters to herself before laughing out loud, the imagine of a disgruntled tailor or fashionista flashing across her vision. She makes a few notes from the flyer to tell her group before walking off, still chuckling under her breath at the images. "Nophica... How to explain nophica green to Sano...."
  11. UPDATE: We are officially Rank 8! Also, we're only 7 million gil off of our housing goal!! Great thanks to all of our members and we look forward to inviting new ones to join in with our FC family!
  12. I think I'm going with May 19th as well with May 26th as a second guess. I'd love for it to come out earlier but based on the tentative releases for the next couple of patches I have to say mid to late May IF they intend to keep a spring release.
  13. This looks really good thus far! I can't wait to see what else you do with it and any other art you post.
  14. That carbie is so cute! You did a really good job on him!
  15. I view the IC/OOC boundary as being a very simple and very clear divide for me. This is a character who I am playing to match their own distinct personality. Are there parts of me in this character? Yes because I can't play something I don't understand but that being said I am not that character. I had a lot of issues in SWTOR with people feeling that I was my character and it caused a lot of problems that have made me a little gunshy about RPing. That being said, I view the character as the character. You are not your character and I am not going to assume such. Just because the characters are friends does not mean you are my friend OOC and we're all buddy buddy. That's just not how it works. I don't mind OOC communication but traditionally that communication stays about the characters and their interactions. If a friendship forms, okay, but when that happens the lines are clearly drawn especially if the other person is a male. I've encountered too many people who live through their characters and it bleeds into OOC conversations and feelings.(This tends to be more with RP relationships than just character friendships and/or business relationships but the same applies for all instances) I make it very well known that I am in a serious relationship so if I see something I deem to be a mixing of OOC, it is brought up with a clear warning of "No. This is not appropriate and this will not happen." If I end up with someone who causes me more stress than my day to day life or who I start avoiding like the plague because of something they are doing, something has to be said about it. You don't have to be rude about the warning but it needs to be clear and direct. No beating around the bush or hinting because that causes issues of its own. If I see it a second time, I end the contact. I won't risk my relationship or my sanity over RP. I've had to learn to be very strict about this particular thing. I know it's kind of harsh and a lot of people don't agree with it but in my experience being nice about it or trying to just push it to the side doesn't work. It only gets worse with time until you end up with a much bigger mess than it ever should have been.
  16. I feel for all of you programmer and government people. I worked for Medicaid in GA on a system older than myself... I wanted to hug a state programmer every time they told us we were getting a new feature or our older than dirt system would not be able to link up with a brand new system some random company put out. I truly wanted to send them chocolates or something because as big of a pain as it was to work with on my end I can only imagine the chaos and frustration on theirs. So *hugs* to all of the programmers, help deskers and government employees who are still having to go through all of this on a daily basis.
  17. I'm open any day, hun, so whatever works best for you. No rush!
  18. This worries me. While I'd like to get a personal house I've put everything I have, as well as a few others, into trying to build up the funds to purchase a FC house. Now I'm worried we've been working our collective asses off for nothing... *sighs* Unfortunately, on Balmung the need has not been met and probably won't be for a while simply because of population density. I truly hope the ward situation isn't put on the back burner for any length of time since I know we're not the only ones in this situation.
  19. Thanks, guys! I greatly appreciate it. My boyfriend had pointed out the Wacom but it was a much higher priced one. I greatly appreciate you telling me about the small pen and touch because that is well within the price range I wanted and will probably go with that. Also, I looked up SAI and it sounds like just what I need! You guys are great! Once again, thanks so much!
  20. Hi, guys! I'm looking to purchase a drawing tablet and program when I get a new computer. As I've never purchased one, I am wondering what you guys use and who you feel puts out a better product for both the tablets and the art programs. I'd like to be able to sketch and paint via the tablet. My budget is around $200 but could go a little higher. Figured it might be cheaper in the long run especially with the way I go through canvas and oils. Thanks so much in advance guys! I always appreciate your advice on things!
  21. I love your art. You do a wonderful job and the personality can be seen in each picture.
  22. I've really not had much to vent about overall but something here recently has frustrated the heck out of me. I decided I needed an alt, one that would be different from what I have. The alts I have are not bad but they're not sparking. I have reasons to keep them though so fantasia/name change is out of the question even if I had the money to do so. I wanted this new alt for that spark... and can't get it on the server. I've tried for three weeks and the only two days the server opened are the two days I've had to be out and away from the computer. My frustration is massive right now... *vent off* I hope ya'll have had a wonderful day! *hugs*
  23. Those are adorable! I might be interested in a commission as well.
  24. Gilgamesh this morning was open around 8 am EST.
