  1. well, I figured as much, since those things can really dull the quality of pictures sometimes, but it's really not too bad on my screen. Tinkering with the scanner or getting a new one some time hopefully correct this, but I dunno for sure-- never really mastered them myself >.
  2. *grins and wiggles his toes in excitement!* Very nice job on Molt, you captured him perfectly =) Very nice detailing for just 2.5 hours, I have to admit. I think you're on the right track for your goals.
  3. very nice, I really like the detailing you can do with pencil work-- and I love the pose =)
  4. Like it was already touched on, there's something to be said for the older style of art that digital art can't make a scratch on. You see more in the artist with pencil/ink/markers than with digital art.
  5. Ah, very nice! come to think of it...I can't even remember when I even started...but I remember joining in I think...just after Gates of Discord (well after Kunark launch, and I think...the first expansion after Planes of Time). As far as I know, we're the only EQ players here >.> It's actually surprising-- all the new people coming in and some of the established members here just don't have EQ on their MMO record-- and it used to be a staple! Not even EQ2! But alas, WoW has taken care of that and we're in the Tera/Old Republic/Guild Wars 2 era anyways.
  6. Hnnnnnngh! These are looking good! I'm jealous! I shall hone my stick-figure skills until I get as good as you!
  7. well, keep up the good work! Been meaning to dabble, myself...
  8. oh, ha! I didn't consider that the char should (somewhat) match the deity >.< I get excited in these kinds of threads! I think I shall wait for the outer ring...
  9. I......really need to learn Eorzean!
  10. Hmm...I'm identifying Molt with a lot of reversed meanings...*cough* And how do I keep missing the chats like these in Skype??
  11. What a great concept, Mtoto! I love that art style and can't wait to see this thing come together!
  12. Now that I think of it, ARR will have so much to cover for quests and lore, that our (or any wikis for that matter) will need our help-- I'd be willing to throw in an alt for the cause, if not just to get a taste of lore but also aid in the cause.
  13. I think I love this idea, Yssen! Unfortunately, I'm not home to give a proper response, but nonetheless sign me up! When I get home, I'll try to look over this more and try to help you make it a reality.
  14. Thanks, Merri, that's actually pretty reassuring =). Through beta and launch, there'll be plenty of time to worry about that later and just explore and have fun!
  15. very exciting, I can't wait to see the finished product of your labor!
  16. Ah, what a good idea! It's simple, really >.<, especially if we put it all on the wiki-- We are the role players, after all! I'd be down, for sure! I need a reason to take a bit more time in my questing!
  17. Oh, I didn't catch that the Crystal Tower was implemented in the lore, I thought it was merely hinted at by Yoshi-P and the devs. And here I thought I was spot-on for once -.-;... As for the concept art you mentioned...is this it? http://killingifrit.com/forums/uploads/ ... 175638.jpg I really didn't think that much of it until you pointed that out...hum...So if that's 99% certain that's the Crystal Tower, it does not change much about the terrain, unless if that's very far off to the Northeast... As the key, I'm willing to bet you're right, especially if as Yoshi-P states, that the Labyrinth is going to be HUGE-- and since Bahamut was even bigger, it's safe to say that thing will be inside or at least somehow be a piece of it. I should have said the battlefield itself is a big part of the beginning or middle Molt's 5 year story. But still, that whole area is bound to be in some deep trouble. Depending on how things go down, and more importantly how they settle, Molt may or may not need an alternative backstory to the 5 years. I suppose I'll have to get working on that! Thank you, Merrin, for that precious bit of info! >.< I still wonder about that half-ice structure in the background of the final scene...
  18. Hate to cast raise on an older thread, but there's some nice bits of lore in it. The problem is, I've been trying to find the source, especially for the illnesses and poisons and the like, but all the links are broken and are unsearchable in the official forums. Is there still evidence these facts are still around? Are there more?
  19. hum...it looks like that frozen tower is the 'key' that fell from Meteor, 75% positive, at least, meaning that whole area that the battle took place is covered in ice. I wanted to have Molt the ability to go back there within or just after the first year, so depending on how exactly that place freezes over (if in fact it is the landing site) will play a big key in Molt's story... I loled when I realized the Huyr was the only one without his weapon, and as Blade said, it looked like the Roeg was laughing at him. then I got mad that they were able to call Chocobos, no-less armored, out of thin air and rode them. And then there's that crazy structure at the end, once more covered with ice...or...well, surrounded by mountains. Could be around Ishguard, or could be the war zone. What to make of it? What to write, what to write...hummmm...
  20. Thank you for the suggestion, Gerik. I looked into it today, but ultimately decid3ed against it. Sorry! Here's the starting supplies. My mom suggested a few things, so I have a few ideas iin mind. Below is a pic of the starting materials. I suppose, instead of using the original pieces of music, I'll be copying them onto resume paper (you know, the fancy kind!), and will be tearing them piece by piece onto the canvas. Not pictured is a small canvas I bought to test a few things out on, like how the was will come out. I'll get a better idea of how things sit, especially on paper rather than actual canvas, so I can see if the staff should be wax or the actual notes and G Clef. One thing I realized how small the actual canvas is-- so that's good, in a way. Minimizes things to be destroyed (wax melting, chipping), doesn't take so much space on the GF's wall, and to me seems more subtle. Also, it saves on material! The downside is if I am going to use two bars, the space vs size ratio runs a little thin-- but I thought of these designs unexpecting a full two bars of music. Still up in the air about the actual design. My mom suggested 'tieing' the staff into a knot then I think adding color or adding depth (wax notes). http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh589/v3rdict/Crayon%20Project/2012-12-24_15-32-04_117.jpg[/img]
  21. Posting so I can share the FFIX stream ... >.> www.livestream.com/moltsfftime
  22. I did forget that I realized that age 16 was the Battle of Silvertear Falls, which could be the source of the scar, taking away drama on Molt's side and having it be more or less...just a happening. That is, if I wanted Molt in the military-- though quickly discharged afterwards! >.< I dunnoo..
