  1. I'm in the same boat as you are, Steel! Just hit 50, just got back to the game, and will be making a DRK when they come out but I'd still like to see everything I can in the meantime. So yeah, if you want a fellow nooblet MNK along to punch things for you, I'm your guy. 8-) I'm pretty decent at monks, so if you need any help with getting down rotations or anything I'll give you some tips! (I'm not sure if that's a normal thing to offer but I'll try hrrk)

    Wiki Question

That's basically your user account itself! You can make a wiki page for your character by searching the whole name with proper capitalisation and making a new page from there when told no such page exists
  3. I believe there's a EU-hours roleplaying linkshell being put together, hopefully it could help you some! I'll have to dig through the forums to find it, but once I do I'll edit this post to sneak it in. Good luck! I know how finding other roleplayers at late hours can be difficult, as i myself had worked night shift in the US and man, that was difficult to do anything during. Edit: Here's one, but I don't believe this was the most recent one I had seen. The hunt continues. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=6316 Edit x2: Here's what I was thinking of! It's more of a directory, however. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=9204
  4. This is me, taken on Skype because I am -terrible- with cameras. The pencil is not actually up my nose. Promise. And this is my animal, taken with my phone because she's ridiculously photogenic.
  5. Friends. *Sobs* Jokes aside, I've been fairly happy with what I've managed to scrounge for myself in the game. The only thing I could imagine that'd I'd possibly be missing when considering that I always seem to find ways to make ends meet would be a set for A'toli that's either fancy within her tastes, or casual within her tastes. I feel like her normal armour is a bit too fancy for someone with no gil, so I'd taken it upon myself to weave a sort of short story in her history explaining how she could have received the set. Almost feels like I'm making excuses for myself because I simply don't know what kind of gear is out there and I'm just playing with what I have haha
  6. Just got that as well, but it seems to have gone away
  7. I had never known anyone with lupus or any other such diseases from my small town. The only folks who had similar in regards to chronic problems was a young woman with epilepsy, whom we were always very concerned for considering that the high school was just littered with stairs and she'd most often seize between classes, potentially due to the large windows facing the sun. She wasn't even too certain herself. The only other folk was a young man who had ... I believe he told me Lyme disease. He never really sat with anyone at lunch because he ate at home, and we always invited him to just sit and talk with us if he'd please so he wasn't standing around and getting stared at by judgmental eyes. People who stood or sat alone at lunch were always viewed oddly. It was pretty sad because his attendance was very spotty, and one day he stopped coming in to school entirely. I think it was because he began homeschooling, but it always worried me. Hope things smooth out for you. Definitely take Zhavi's advice on notifying teachers if you hadn't already, lupus sounds like something to be taken seriously and you'd do yourself no good working hard while you're flaring up. Don't push yourself too hard, take it easy, and speak up any time you feel you need to!
  8. Haha, a pugilist, and a miqo'te at that! Welcome aboard the master race (But seriously, welcome to Balmung! Additionally, should you be up for it at the same time as myself, I could attempt to insta-queue you through some dungeons)
  9. Hey there! Mind sharing your server with us? Since there's two big roleplay servers as well as roleplayers dabbling in other servers as well, it would be a lot easier for us to get in contact with you and work things out if we were on the same server!
  10. Oo, if I had a character from Gilgamesh I'd hit you up! I don't have one at the moment, but that's bound to change in the near future
  11. Hah, saw you folks in the Quicksand last night, thought you both did a very good job!
  12. Flighty, fickle, aloof, gimmicky and quirky. Probably a ferret or some other sort of small mammal.
  13. Fffffudge. I just got my boyfriend to buy the game, unfortunately, so I don't know anyone off of the top of my head who would be interested. Regardless, I'll poke about my Skype list and check!
  14. This concisely puts my thoughts to words. Please, OP, consider what the posters in this thread are saying. Even if they disagree with you, they need to be considered because they're the ones being almost forced to deal with the aftermath of the fanon you're trying to push on the community for the sake of your personal story and Free Company.
  15. Oh wow, you're having issues with Nvidia undergoing panic attacks at the thought of updating drivers as well? (Or rather, were!) Here I thought I was the only one, haha
  16. Yep, this is much how I feel about Aether as a whole, from what I've been reading! Personally, I try and stick to realism as much as possible, because I not only find it to be occasionally an interesting challenge, but also something that can lead to danger or intrigue in roleplay. Walking off every battle due to abnormal regeneration rates would leave me feeling like I were yearning for consequences. Likewise, if someone doesn't care for my perspective, I can respect it, I simply will do as I find most fulfilling in roleplay. I'd only ever use Aether as an absolute last resort, personally, but I similarly imagine class abilities to be fully accessible by players as it is in game. (There's a lot of grey areas, given, but I suppose I rather trust those I roleplay with to make a fair call on when to use or how to explain such!)
  17. Allrigty, thank you all very much! All of these responses were very helpful, and I'll definitely work with it. It also leaves a lot of sweat off my brow, because now I have more room to work without worrying about possibly contradicting what's been established about a particular tribe, haha. Thank you all very much!
  18. Ho' boy, get yourselves ready folks, here comes a really specific question! Where is the Antelope tribe located (if mentioned anywhere in lore), and what sort of traits or culture does it hold (should it be described)? I'm currently working on a wiki profile/page for A'toli, and I'm scrambling around trying to find information that would relate to her. Before I get too involved in writing up a history, let alone roleplaying the character, I'd like to make sure I know what's necessary so I don't feel as though I make a fool of myself by making assumptions or generalizing. Generalizing can only take me so far. :C I believe that I had read somewhere online that they were located just outside of Gridania... however, this was only a snippet and after thorough Googling and wandering aimlessly outside of Gridania, I came up with no conclusions. Would anyone out there be able to put my wandering mind to rest? Thanks in advance!
