  1. I make it a point to approach OOCly first. Helps if that's your entry point and as well as distinguishing whether a character is or isn't IC If it isn't so readily obvious. Communication is key just as much as spontainiety and grand adventure to go with it.
  2. A lot of those problems of yours can be solved with the '/tell to win' philosophy. Making first contact OOCly is important really.
  3. It goes like this for Kurt... But with an axe too and a Dalamud Red Paint Job. A huge one that's like
  4. Water for Kurt, he'll just be passive and roll with the punches if not weave his way around them. He's a follower of Nymeia so it's pretty much a fixed flow in his eyes seeing as she weaves stuff and has a flow and stuff, just gonna have to ride it to wherever. And like rapids, he tends to pick things up quickly if it piques his interest and like a waterfall he's been going nowhere but down recently huehuehuehue
  5. Let's see. Kudos to Cylin's Enla and Theula'sae. Enla being Nah's first ever IC encounter where I unwittingly ended up making Nah as the lovable screw up or so she said. Theula'sae for, better or worse, starting Nah down the path of pickpocket or at least think it'll stick as well bitch slapping some sense into her and making her really figure out how she all feels about what she's doing. Then I'd like to mention Miata, Duskwright's Tajih and Locke's Vhali for making me realize Nah's sorta protective and defaults to being very offensive. Case and point, calling Vhali half-blind among other things. Of course let's not forget Zeean for bitch slapping some realism to her optimistic and romanticized image of heroes. He didn't break her optimism or her desire to be one, rather tempered it like any good smith. Seeing as that's what she wants to be (a hero) and not some sort of villain but well mother knows what's best and if she says genocide, I have no doubt Nah would do it, not like it but do it anyway. Cole and Vhali (once again) showed me that Nah has a tendency to be stubborn hence her rather weak accusations and poorly made insults at Vhali's expense, which the latter just seems to laugh off as Nah keeps digging her hole in front of a crowd. Good times. Finally Tallera, S'eaka, Cole and Vhali(once and again) for setting up an opportunity for Nah to get lost in her own name. Let's face it 'nah' being thrown as a response just turns poor Nah around until she can't take the dizziness no more. Is she being addressed, is she being called, is it just a response to a question. Nah will never be sure. Basically Kudos to those names cuz I'm probably gonna start editing Nah's wiki with what I've learned...one of these days.
  6. Well I can't do anything bout that. I'll keep my culinary forum names thank you very much. Black Forest for the Black Mage unless she's not a Black mage, there's still Thaumaturgy which is kinda like it right? Also I think it's an entertaining cake if done right, and Edvyn's entertaining so there's that.
  7. He's uhh and Elezen, which probably means he's very fancy and french. Creme Brulee is french right? I can be fancy right....kinda wanna make some dessert >.>
  8. "Do not worry after me. I will be careful, and return to you." Is probably what that woman in the background was writing down on her notebook as she saw a wild Clio and Erik appear out of nowhere and uhh hmm use 'romantic moment(?)'. I think she has her own headcanon of those two and will publish it into a book.
  9. Kellach is a damn fabulous man as far as I can tell. I can say I've finally seen him IC (at my first time attending the HoD Tavern Night) and that yellow goes good with him.
  10. I know Kurt'll be more machinist than marksman. Simply put he has no significant firearm training thus far. He might know how a gun works, he might think of 'improvements' to it but at the end of the day he's no crack shot with the rifle. Maybe over time Though. I could totally see him tinkering and fabricating drones that could help him out. For better or worse he's more on the technical side of the Machinist class rather than the cowboy side. Like Dogberry, Kurt's rise to Machinist 60 will be him getting better with a rifle and being a little more creative or if the skillset allows it, more explosive with what he could do to the drones and the guns. That and I hope people like miss Cliodhna and Nako would play a part in this as well.
  11. T'avh well, Nah can always run into him and we'll see how her somewhat usual snarky smartassness measures up to this guy's crafted lies. A tell works perfectly if I can't find him in or around Ul'dah. If anything Manasa might know Kurt and his mom more than Nah and her mom. Seeing as Kurt was supposed to be a pirate and his mom really is a pirate, not as often as before but she still sails with her crew every now and then. It's highly likely Kurt knows about Rowdy Reed as well. Maybe when I'm more coherent(read as: when I wake up tomorrow cuz it's midnight right now') I'll shoot a PM your way with a few ideas. Maybe Kurt could also explore the potential pirate half of his life.
  12. Ilwe seems like a sweet person from the times I've spoken with her(him?) OOCly. Haven't thrown anyone her(his?) way yet but maybe one of these days I'll remedy that. I also like the signature, so cool.
  13. So after tossing and turning over something Liliro once said in a tell once upon a time. I decided that maybe I should put in another connections thread, this time reflecting the recent things I realized about her...also because she's level 50 as a PLD (Am I doing it right, Liliro? I pointed out she's 50 and I invested a shitload of time into her getting her Zenith, 4/12 of the atmas and WoD access.) Also made me realize that her initial recruitment thread would have really gotten 0 replies and 50 views. Anyway in the time since her creation, Nah's gone through...well not a lot really. I'm looking to change that. I mean I can count on my hand the time's she's been IC since her creation. So here's what I'm looking for for Nah right now. -Someone she can (try to) steal from using methods Theula'sae taught her. She'd end up failing miserably but still, if not feel really bad about it once she pulls it off. -Someone who might be able to teach her more about using the sword and board. Despite having Zeean and Floria teaching her something at least once already, wouldn't mind doing it again with them really, still more mentors means more things to work and synthesize into her own style. -Someone who could teach her how to maybe lighten some pockets and purses. Even though she has Theula'sae teaching her, maybe another pick pocket could teach her too. This'll be hard to find though. -Someone who might(will) just mug her. Nuff said. -An Adventuring companion or something Could be someone who teaches her how to fight with a sword effectively too, we'll see. She isn't really that fond sitting around doing nothing or people watching for long periods of time, she'll take any excuse to step out and go hit something with her sword or maybe a long walk from Limsa to Swiftperch to deliver something. -A friend. Nuff said too. -Another older brother figure. this seems to be a trend with all the catboys she's met. *coughTheula'saecough* *coughZeeancough* -A possible love interest(?) /laugh, good luck. -Someone who knows that she works in Amariyousities! Also might just inherit it. Bouncing off business ideas and concepts and tips amirite? Either that or asking about the old man or even just making simple small talk or arrange a business proposition. I dunno. -Someone who could help her investigate her mother. Now this part is a tricky bit. I have three possibilities stewing in my head, one of which I'm not sure of the plausibility, another of which is just seems crazy no matter how you look at it. None of has any immediate bearing on her relationship with her husband, she still owns him and he's still a slave. I suppose a conjurer or a thaumaturge could help in this department. Which case could be within accepted standards? Barring that, can someone help me brainstorm a case D or something. Case A: Voidsent possession Simply put her mom's been possessed by a voidsent that just wants to see the world burn. Therefore, tests to see if the daughter has any potential. Not that it changes things she'll probably be possessed too when the time is right. Sending her to Ul'dah and training among the gladiators is simply a way to strengthen the new vessel. Whether or not she has the stomach to 'sow chaos' wherever she went is of little consequence. Now my question here is, is it safe to assume what happened to Cocobusi is voidsent possession in a nutshell? Also is there any reliable method of detecting such a possession? Case B: Eorzean Illuminati or some such I don't think there's much work needed here. I've played around with organization concepts in my head. The most apparent of which is like an underground organization that might just have more behind the scenes influence in Ul'dah than say the syndicate. Of course that's easily thrown out the window, pretty much artificially maintaining the balance of Chaos and Order. No one's gonna sit well with that I suppose so my actual proposition here is some sort of underground assassin organization, like you know the brotherhood. Of course Nah asking someone to help out with this might come a little later, after crossing out Cases A and C. As well as after *variable personal storyline spoilers, up to and including an OOC time limit.* Case C: Elemental Intervention I'll put the /sounsyysignal like so here. Well it speaks for itself. Some elemental out there wants to see the world burn...well just mankind really, I mean prevention is better than cure ho boy what if another Black Mage decides to spark a war eh and then they have to churn out white mages again eh. I thought about this since Amariyousities! is located in Gridania after all. I'm not entirely sure if a voidsent could easily slip into Gridania what with it being a stone's throw from the conjurers' guild AND the Padjal. So this time an elemental is what's either outright possessing her or heavily influencing her mother (can an elemental possess someone?). Can this actually be a thing or are all elementals like a hive mind or something? Also if it can be a thing, I'd probably like help to flesh it out a bit more or some resources about Elementals I could draw on. Of course approaching her is a simple matter in itself seeing as she's either in the markets or in the Quicksand. Sometimes she'll be in the Wench at Limsa or the Canopy or around the markets at Gridania. We can also set up something somewhere. Though if you want to we can also plan something out that ties you to either her father, Nah herself, her mother, maybe even the Amariyousities! shop too. *Prepares the 'double digit views and 0 replies' card on the desk.
  14. The Artifact Gear gear? Thought those were something else? Welp. Im stupid. Lol I dunno I only one thing with a high collar (the douchecollar)
  15. The Artifact Gear gear?
  16. Now I'm no lore buff but I know THE Stardust rod is like the delicious limited edition BLM weapon that's so very rare and powerful only a few of em exist at all, the original ones made by Shattoto or was it Shanttoto. I think what Gerolt makes for you is simply a replica at best. Then Jalzhar helps you turn that replica into something else that's probably better than the original thing by killing you slowly with Zodiac. I'm not sure about the i90 gear neither seeing as I've ever resorted to the Cashmere/Saurian combo. Pretty sure those are the ala 'Audi' of robes. Meanwhile stuff like Kirimu/Arachne are the 'Lamborghini' of clothes. Any answers in this thread might actually help me. Since ICly Ramona is rocking a Stardust replica and Cashmere/Saurian gear.
  17. Don't know this guy yet but he's rockin a manlander which is very nice, you don't see that many manlanders compared to babelanders. Also he's a pirate which means he's got rum and a ship and rum, did I mention rum? I should mention it again. If hr doesn't have rum that's cool too, he's got a ship right, probably one of the fleetest on the water?
  18. I have actually yet to RP with Melodia but again she's pretty cool to talk with OOCly and I just realized how snazzy her avatar looks like that gear. Also how snazzy she looks in a swallowtail that one time I saw her on Nah. Teach my your stylish ways, I say!
  19. Cylin here has a cute avatar..wait I said that already right? Hmm let's try something else. Though I've only talked to her a fair few times, I always like our conversations. Bouncing ideas with her has been a good experience. Now to find someone to stand in for Enla the next time Sae and Nah meet.
  20. I'm sure Nah or Kurt can drop by, they both have a habit of making do with damaged armor and nigh blunt blades
  21. I've seen this guy so many times on Nah. He's runnin around Ul'dah rockin the heavy armor set or the beer can set as I like to call it like it was made for him....it probably was. Also I don't think I've had the pleasure of rping with him much less talk OOCly but he seems like a fun guy.
  22. Death by snu snu is the only real way to die!
