Compliments Galore! Compliment The Poster Above You!
Kurt S. replied to Y'lani's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Miqotea. Clever username that. Makes me want to get a cup of tea for myself :3 Also the Cinque Hairstyles works well on her, well if you were going for the bookworm-y look. @u@-b goojab. -
Partially complete shiny new Kurt wiki. 90% done. Just gotta put in some information. Then make Shiny Allene wiki. Then watch the respect plummet if it still is.

-Get home. -Tap ID card on reader. -Door's locked. -Realize I tapped my train card on the reader. -Fish out ID, tap on reader. -Door's locked. Still. -Try again and again. -Realize it's not a reader, it's a fucking doorbell. -Tap card on doorknob. -Realize I'm not at my university anymore. -Fish keys out from pocket and go inside. Grandmother lounging around the living room being entertained by my bout of stupidity.

Uhh yeah I'll have an order of a double roe. And uhh yeah upsized drinks with fries. Take your pick who you want to throw you alt at from my roster. *already knows it's the CooKurt Steel*
-
It's a good way to know how the other characters perceive your character too. But then again this coming from a guy who nuked his wikis only to be a pancake about it and bring it back anyway. I-it's not like I'm asking for a rumour on Kurt 2.0 wiki or anything, tsun~ And I'd drop a line on Cass's wiki if it finally accepts rumours >w>
-
Yes! For all those who wouldn't otherwise have the luxury of your dubious sales pitches! @u@-b

And update to roster: Kurt Steel (My sometimes neglected bread and butter) Nah Amariyo (Gridanian Shopkeep/half-baked heroine) Available on request. Ramona Spencer (Whiny Ul'dahn heiress) Available on request. Allene Rose (The Haurchefant to my Count Edmont. Much shame but I embrace her all the same. Also because she's level 52 and working on SMN >w>) Working on: Crafting on Kurt. Getting Allene to 60 PLD. Work on her wiki. Watch that respect plummet hard and fast if and when they find out who and what Allene does.

Steel Wolf. Smirking and Berserking. I've had the pleasure of rping with her before and have no doubt she's just gotten better over time. Like vintage wine. Makes one hell of a roegadyn that's pretty much an engaging character. So ask yourself this: "Have you had your daily dose of Vitamin S and W?" because I haven't and I need to fix that really soon. -

Regal looking popoto is regal. But yeah I like how she looks in her avatar. Like paid paint portrait of ye olde days where you had to sit for hours on end because the painter took his sweet time. Also the purple hair looks nice, very nice @u@-b -
Oh hey someone cast raise on this thread. Well generic answer would be a lot of people here. Like meet them ICly at some point, even for a scant five minute conversation. Notice me, senpai @u@-b If we have to name at least one. I know I'd like to meet Aya at some point. I've only got my cousin's brief encounter to go on so that's got my curiosity piqued.

Roleplayer Uncertainty/Insecurity Theater
Kurt S. replied to Warren Castille's topic in Character Workshop
Sometimes I'm not sure about my characters anymore. What drives them, what motivates them, what they wanted to do, who they are. I used, but now I'm not so sure. I want to start with a fresh character but at the same time I can't exactly cannibalize my existing ones because someone somewhere might still want to interact with them, albeit on rare occasions. I'm also not keen going through ARR/2.5 for the 9th time. I dunno just feels like I'm grasping at straws just so something happens to them. *Case and point. After seeing the BLM /vpose I just knew I had to integrate some really Owain-stuff to it. Along the lines of "MY SPELLHAND HUNGERS" Under the pretense of a cheap manual telling him(Kurt) how to unlock his 'Spellhand' and how it translates to being a better thaumaturge. All a load of bull of course but it came at a bargain so...* I've got ideas. Finding people to put these ideas into practice without making it look forced is the tricky bit. Overcoming my timezone differences is just as tricky. So anyone know any efficient way to pull all nighters? Since that's the only real way I can put myself in EU friendly events. -
Since some people insist Kurt sounds English for some reason. *Despite being a La Noscean born half-Doman/Eorzean* nGQUZVA4qvg This is what I imagine him to sound like now.

Kurt simply looked down to see just what everyone else in the room was staring it. In a way it was odd to go about casually but he couldn't afford to lose his composure. The important thing now was to get something on his waist. Preferably if it could reach down and cover the problem area, or the problem generating area. He pulled his shirt over his head and tied it to his waist if not tucked it in his pants, a good part of the shirt covering the problem generating part. Of course cheap pants don't last long. It just so happened the pair of pants decided to tear at the seams, falling apart around his legs. It was then that he realized. Kurt fucked up. And Kurt walked out of the room, gathering straps and scraps for a makeshift loincloth, praying to Nymeia almighty that he tied it well enough. Nymeia probably had other plans.

When you've got a one shot alt for whatever reason. That you give it the same treatment as your main character that they eventually become characters in their own right. Usually even more detailed than your main. Also when you end up going to several aesthetist visits because the hair reflects what happens too. I.e. your femme char put her ponytail down. So you run to nearest jandelaine and pay him the 2kgil for the change and pay him 2k gil again to change it back. When you have so many outfits for them they have at least 2 or more casual looks as well as ensembles for when they're working. So many variations to their outfits because they also change clothes too. Like you have three pairs of the normal lvl 5 caster sandals dyed differently and assigned to different outfits. Each set a part of their IC wardrobe. So they have some alt outfit wear if one of them's in for dry cleaning.

When I see Dark rp I think. "Hey, there is going to be lots of death in here and or maiming. If not a lot, then a lot of feels that'll come from said death. Said death comes in a variety of gruesome flavors too. Things literally get dark. Like when you're all basking in the victory over the garleans then there's that one guy reminds you that you all just made a lot of Garlean orphans. And that those orphans would be overworking at a steel mill at less than minimum wage. Whether or not you guys care about being child killers isn't the issue. I'm just saying you guys are child killers." Mature RP on the other hand. ...deals with more mature themes including realizing you're an orphan making, parent slaying machine. Like drugs or someone's sex escapades or that in law you hate so much, torture methods, actual torture, probably lots of cursing (since I don't run into that on a regular basis). I'd say Dark rp is just a part of Mature rp much like Power Metal is to the Metal genre entirely. Since yanno, you gotta be mature for this dark stuff anyway. Unless you're a sick puppy >w> But that's just me.

Thing that you feel most guilty for in this game as a player
Kurt S. replied to Riven's topic in Fun Prompts
The 'fahk this isn't going to happen' attitude with stuff like Coil and EX primals. Brought about by that clear understanding that your own odd timezone screws you out of the usual pve'er's radar and that you should have been on another server in the first place. (Though I do not regret putting all my cards in Balmung at all) Yes I want a Ramuh/Shive pony. No I haven't done mog ex. I sort of get what's supposed to happen. Yes that boot cameo at the end of 3.1 makes me want to know just what exactly happened in the Coils. Also because the turns up until 7(since that's all I've reached) look and sound pretty. But hey, I'm probably not around at the right time to gather people to tackle any of that. That pessimist's outlook on pve content is what I'm also guilty of. Like really guilty of. -
"Yes wine bottle I understand. No I'm not bitter at all, not in the slightest. Pfft I'm not spending Valentione's alone... ...You there. You. Saw. Nothing. Heard nothing. Bene?" To commemorate my getting Kurt to CUL 50 through my own blood sweat and tears. Finally putting an outfit to his main IC tradeskill. @u@-b One year in neglect the making. "...and there. I think I baked you right. And it didn't take forever...there is no forever..." "..YOU'RE STILL HERE?! I'M NOT LONELY I SWEAR!" "...My new prison is denial. MY NEW PRISON IS DENIAAAALL!!!"

So many alts. Not all of them get love or rp time. Worse is when they have established contacts that wait for me to get on them. It doesn't help that I'm asian and in a weird spot time-wise. Not at all belonging to the NA/EU brackets. -

...When you're sitting on the drawing board planning out every minute change to your character should something happen. ...Trying not to let the existential dread sit in that you've so many ideas. Poured so much time and effort into the character that no one (senpai) will probably ever notice them. Or that little quirk of theirs that doesn't even happen in actual rp because no one's triggering the right conditions spontaneously. Yes that obscure. ...Put a name to their parents' pirate ship and or sundries shop located in Gridania. That no one ever mentions or even goes to. A family that's supposedly wealthy and is a player in the Ul'dahn markets but bad decisions make your OOC gil hit only as much 6 digits. THAT EVERYTHING OOC IN THE CHARACTER HAS TO BE IC AS WELL THIS i210 GEAR LOOK DOES NOT MAKE NAH LOOK LIKE NAH IT BETTER SETTLE WITH THE i160 GEAR INSTEAD OF GLAMOURING IT! RAMEN/RAMOMO/REI HAS TO BE SITTING ON AT LEAST ENOUGH GIL TO BUY 5 LARGE GOBLET HOUSES! KURT WHY YOU NO HAVE PETTING ZOO?! That it just eats you on the inside that you don't have the OOC resources to put IC locations up or otherwise IC aspects up. Oooh Amariyosities would look nice in the Lavender Beds. Then you just sort of sit there. Trying not to let the existential dread sit in on the thought of the months of your life that'll go into making all of that a reality because you only have that one crafter that has a handful of glamour stuff on sale and some HQ i115 gear. The slow pace sets in...And the realization that maybe some of your plans may not happen. A personal relic that'll probably be even harder than all of the steps combined. Then you try to find alternatives and spend weeks sorting through plans B-Infinity then go back to plan A because it feels right. Again the dread sets in and you start questioning what you're doing with your life. Realizing you'll be putting for all that effort when you don't know, for example, how to OOCly run an IC shop that deals with all manner of stuff. A shop that no one will probably even be visiting. Two offices of characters who could sort of afford one that has no one in it not even yourself because you've other places to be like the Quicksand and no matter how much your character ICly prefers Gridania or Limsa they still end up staying in Ul'dah, complaining about the heat because most of the rp happens in Quickie Sands anyway. The futility of your resistance sinks in. The Quicksand pulls you deeper into its embrace as you struggle to stay away from it. All manner of crazy people hitting on your midlander guy and moonkitty in particular. Shh it says as it advises you to go quietly into the good night. Your raging against the dying of the light only making the demise quicker. There is no escape... Momodi rules all rpers the same way Rowena rules all adventurers, raiders and pve'ers no matter how much they deny the glorious revolution. To the point that ICly your characters also acknowledge the true authority that dwarfs even the sultana. The House of Splendors is splendid indeed. tl;dr OVERTHINKING THE THINGS. ALL THE THINGS, THE EFFECT THINGS, THE PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE THINGS, THE CAUSE THINGS, THE FAR REACHING THINGS, THE IMMEDIATE THINGS, THE TYING PVE AND RP THINGS. MY GOD I AM SORRY FOR THIS RANT.

Kurt Steel : Son of a pirate kicked out of the house. Does the things for gil. The Walking Disappointment (season 3.15) Nah Amariyo : Daddy's girl kills mommy dearest. Lies about moving on. Shoves herself into hero making machine. Totally not escapism the movie. Ramona Spencer : Whiny attention seeker comes into gil inheritance too early. Develops obsession for white haired boy. Spirals into yandereism.

That hair reminds me so much of some bubble gummy candy I just want to nom it. @u@-b Aaaanywayyy Good job on making it here and taking the first step! By making it here! You too can become a badass and or the generally awesome person you are destined to be...over there on Jenova! Now after me... /t-flex Would a cookie help lure you here to Blamung? :3 EDIT NINJA'D SO HARD FROM SO FAR. Ayaaaaaaa let's see. Though I don't think I've ever had the pleasure to rp with you yet. My cousin has and I envy her, especially when she talked about how you two sort of just shared ideas. I suppose that's props right there, making her feel welcome and introducing her to this place in the first place. For however short a time she stayed here. Really though, danke for that.
