This is wonderful! Would anyone like to partner up with me? My character is an alchemist ICly inexperienced with smithing but has seen it around her most of her life because she is from La Noscea. Are there any La Noscea/Limsa-based character who would team up? : D

Hi Bontee and Tale! Sorry it has taken me a while to reply. I will add you when I am online tomorrow! Last week my work year began again so my schedule got a little messed up. I play from about 4pm-8pm PST every weekday and all over the place on the weekends from now on with work back. Also if anyone is in a somewhat time-restricted situation as I am and is working their way through 2.0 - 2.5 content (and wants to watch cutscenes and/or static stuff!) please let me know. The best way to invite walk-up RP is to RP! People expect to initiate some kind of hook through forum, through status, though 'slow RP walk', but 9/10 times I have found wonderful RPer it has been because I say something silly to an NPC, make a joke about something in the environment, or just "act" like my character would: sleepy from too much walking, not liking the smell of something in the world, being rushed and late for some appointment or sale, that kind of thing. There is so much you can do to 'liven' up the world. Just look how Square Enix makes their stupid town fodder so wonderful and funny. You can be that too! And if you are RPing by yourself, worst thing is there is no other RPer around. Best thing is you get to be immersed in your environment and you might meet a wonderful and spontaneous RPer who's just standing nearby. All that ramble aside, it is helpful to indicate that you're RPer in your status. I think it's nice when people say walk-ups are fine because they're making you feel at ease but I think very rarely do people just 'walk up' to each other in real life to talk. I mean, unless you're getting picked up at a bar or chatted up on the bus by someone slightly creepy, maybe... Shortly, create a situation doesn't have to be through PC/PC interaction. There's a whole world around us!!! Let's use it!!

In terms of historical example of course I feel the Roman slavery system is analogous, but for me a closer similarity would actually be the Japanese occupation of Korea and Taiwan in the first half of 20th century. For those not familiar with this period of Asian history many Koreans and Taiwanese took Japanese names, fought in war, worked in mines and became absorbed into Japanese culture. Today I really streamlined and updated my wiki to make it less wordy and put the huge history on the bottom (mostly for my personal reference honestly) I added a 'current status' section at the top that I will update every time I RP. Somewhat important to me. The main thing is... the class quests you get, and class story (even for crafting and gathering!) contribute so, so much lore and background information on the game world. If you want to RP the world of FFXIV and Hydaelyn... and not just a concept of your own, it's so important to level the jobs and get the story! Of course, obviously, you can look up quest text online. But for me, experiencing the full plot and cutscenes in-game gives me a much better idea about what that job/class/thing is 'all about'. And it's just cool to see, personally, when there is some alignment between character OOC class and IC class. Just feels 'right' to me, when I am playing my character and RPing with others.

Z'uuda! I just had an idea. I'm not sure which starter city you're in (or what level you are...) but there is an NPC from the Z' tribe in Limsa Lominsa that I basically pretend is my character's teacher/master in the arts of botany and herbalism (mostly because there isn't a good entry point to IC botany in Limsa...) Maybe if you like, this NPC can be an aunt or something of Z'uuda's? Because M'isha is basically her (Z'ranmaia the herbalist's) apprentice, I would imagine M'isha and Z'uuda would meet and see each other a lot. Having a player family would be way more fun than an NPC, of course. Just thought I would throw out this idea for later if you have no luck!

I am a new player who already has found a close-knit FC but would like to eventually RP my character as an apothecary/healer type and I like the military theme of the Red Wings FC to toughen up my character who is too new to adventuring IC right now. M'isha has flaws I think are typical of many teenager characters or in real life too! • Narrow mind about what is good versus evil • Idealized view of the world • Emotional immaturity • Dependency on role models vs. personal self-esteem • Fear of the unknown • Overly unaccepting that violence can be necessary • Lack of ability to admit personal mistakes • Focus on what makes her feel good vs. greater good in the world
