So, we've had some people putting a LOT of effort into preparing things behind the scenes for tonight, Quinthel and Inarah coming up with ideas for food dishes, and Nailah with wine selections! So, we thought, why not. There's been... rather a lot happening since that last update. And I'm the lucky soul that gets to tell you all about it! Plump up those cushions and get comfy folks, this could take a while! *Looks at checklist of things that need to be written about* ... *Cries* Saturday: Firstly, many thanks (again) to Inarah for the recent write up of the story event that took place wa~~y back then! More creepy Fel things above our pay grade, and more RP! We like RP in J&H. Thanks to those that took part, both in the company and those unintentional souls without who got caught up in it! We'll be progressing it again this coming Saturday. A~~~nd! The Anchorage! The Anchorage happened! It kicked arse in a much more EU-friendly time zone, so a big ol' thank you to the Kindred, and Rythiel in particular, for putting that gig together and providing an enjoyable night of violence and bloodshed for all. Next one'll be on the 9th, so this Saturday! To begin with this isn't something I planned on doing every week, rather alternate weekends to your own seaside event so the two aren't conflicting ^^ I'd thought it was on the Calendar.. But I think the auto renewal thing doesn't quite like me D: Edit - Updated the main post with the date for this next one as well! The calendar tried to usurp European authority, I see! The silly thing. Glad to see this'll be regular, though!

When's the next one~?

[align=center] The first Eorzean Wine and Dine Festival! A collaboration between Aeon, Jackal & Hide, and the Kindred.[/align] Ladies and gentlemen! It is with great pleasure that I can, at last, announce the fruits of the collective labours of Aeon, Jackal & Hide, and the Kindred: Eorzea's first great Wine and Dine Festival! Beginning at 8pm (BST. A list of some US time zone conversions can be found here.), May 16th, and being graciously hosted by the Kindred at their home in the Goblet (Ward 4, Plot 11), an evening of fine entertainment, fantastic food, and finetastical wine await your collective tasting pleasure*! What sort of things can you expect see at the Wine and Dine Festival? Why I'm glad you asked, good reader! And so, without further gilding the lily, and with no more ado, I give you the evening line-up... 20:00: Beginning from the very get-go, and continuing throughout the night, a selection of foods provided by all three companies will be distributed by members of Aeon to guests, with more available from the fully staffed bar operated by Jackal & Hide, and the lovely I'talweri Mitno, throughout the entirety of the evening. 20:15: Wine tasting begins. Hosted by Nailah Quill, the broadest selection of Eorzean (and beyond!) wines that the three Free Companies can lay their hands on will be provided for the tasting pleasure of all our guests. A chance to try something new, something different, and mayhaps something exciting! All while surrounded by a relaxed atmosphere, allowing plenty of opportunity to mingle with friends and fellow guests. 20:45: The competitions begin! More detail will be provided on this over the coming weeks, but what can be revealed here, now, is that one such competition, for those with the courage, knowledge, and highly developed enough olfactory system, a chance to sample some of the rarest examples of wine, and determine their origin and age. The prize for winning such a tournament? None other than a pre-Calamity bottle of Bacchus to be awarded to the winner at the end of the evening. (Don't ask how we acquired such an item.) 21:30: What better after an hour of sampling wine, than the opportunity to chase all those favourable flavours down with a broad selection of cheese, paté, and various offerings of confections and pastries? Many of which will have been supplied fresh on the night by the Kindred's own Quithel Moranguin, and Jackal & Hide's J'inarah Marad. There'll be competitions, of course! For those who have somehow managed to retain the ability to taste after an hour of mixing wines, a chance to name some of the ingredients used in the culinary creations of Quinthel and Inarah will be offered to guests! (Ten ingredients, offered two at a time, will be offered to whosoever wishes to partake. A /roll system to pick one of the two is currently our system of choice. This may change nearer the time.) Additionally, the more classical 'guess the ingredients' competition will be offered to those who are feeling a little more adventurous! Bring along a partner, friend, or stranger you happened to meet while sampling wines, don a blindfold, and trust to the Twelve, the three Free Companies, and the good graces of the chefs as your friend feeds you a selection of ingredients for you to guess! Guess four ingredients, and win a free slice of cake and a drink! (People will be informed OOCly what the ingredient is, and asked to react as their character would react.) 22:30: The end of the food sampling and competitions! A win(e)d down for all our guests, and a chance for the staff to rest their feet a little in anticipation of the coming announcements. 22:45: The winners of the earlier wine tasting competition will be announced! Their prize: A bottle of pre-Calamity Bacchus as stated afore, and a dinner for two prepared and provided by the finest chefs all three companies can offer. It's hard to ask for more than that! Security on the night will be handled by none other than Aeon themselves, while others from the company mingle and handle the distribution of the aforementioned goodies throughout the eve. And that, ladies and gentlemen, as they say, is that... for that. What we're still looking for, and putting an open call to arms out there for all who are interested, is for folk who are willing to provided suitable, relaxing entertainment for the guests over the course of the evening. Something to fit the tone of the night. [align=center]The Sunny Seaside Bar VI: The Chillout Session That's right folks, regardless of the weather, regardless of the heat, this week it's all about taking it easy. What does that entail? As ever, it's simple! This week the entertainment is being provided by folk other than yourselves (How novel!), all anyone need do is turn up, relax, and enjoy the show. What show, I hear you ask from the future? Well... it's the great pleasure of Jackal & Hide to announce that this weeks bar be featuring, for your collective entertainment, the incredible talents of Nebula Stardancer and U'ashael Malik! Free of charge, and starting from the twentieth bell on the upper deck, the evenings entertainment begins with the wonderful Nebula, and currently ends with the inspiring U'ashael! On the offchance there are any folk present who, after witnessing the evenings entertainment, feel so inspired as to want to take part once the pair are done, then we'll be setting aside a little time towards the end of the eve for such an occurrence. (We might even pay you. Maybe.) That's all there is to it this time! We rather hope to see faces old and new this week for the show, so... See you there! Kilid[/align] My most humble apologies for the lateness of the post for this bar! Between catching people for arrangements, and life, things got away from me! There's little to elaborate on this week, the fee for Nebs and U'ashael is ICly provided by J&H, so all folk need do is pay for their drinks! As a spoiler, the next scheduled bar event will be in a month, rather than the usual fortnightly schedule. We're collaborating with a few other FCs for an extra-special event on the 16th, instead! Sunday: J&H tagged along with the Kindred guided tour of Upper La Noscea! I say tagged along, we provided security, given that it was pretty much in our back yard, and two of the company grew up not far north of the region being expolored. It was fun, educational, and ended up in the hot springs during a thunderstorm. Trés pretty!

"New bed." "New bed." "Ye thinkin' what ah'm thinkin'?" "Can promise ye, ah were thinkin' that first." And then they ate cake in bed, because cake is glorious.

I think we should call it... your grave! Inevitably betrays Inarah Hahaha! Mine is an evil laugh. You may curse me and my inevitable betrayal, but I now rule this hill.

Why? Well, I'm glad you asked. We have a house! It's taken forever, but J&H came together as one, dedicated time and effort and gil (A huge thanks to Inarah for many a sleepless night crafting all of our accessories and armour for SBing!), and Anelia Sadowyn was wonderful enough to sell us their plot in the Mists! We're working on turning that into something similar to our original vision for Jackal and Hide now, as I type this. Screenshots will be dropped here somewhere once we're done with that! What else? Well, a huge welcome to Bert and Jino, our recent muscle and healer, respectively! Expect to see the pair of them popping up in J&H stories in the near future! Did I say stories? I did! We've begun our next overarching plotline that will provide a subtle thread that ties all the coming events in together! Are you waiting with baited breath? Great! This week we're going to be down by the shore, casting our net for customers and fishing up a storm*! As ever, stroll on up around the nineteenth bell for a few drinks, and if you're feeling game for a little game, the main event starts at the twentieth! Basic rods, bait and stools will be provided for all who are so inclined, and the ever-magical something nice™ to whosoever claims the largest catch of the night, with bonus prizes to second and third. That's really all there is to it this week folks, we didn't see any reason to make a big splash, so we're going to be sailing 'pon calm seas all night. (Pray forgive us for the puns) Sea you there! Kilid * Any bad weather that occurs is in no way down to these jokes, we swear. They're bad, but they're not that bad. It's as simple as it sounds folks, we'll be providing level 1 rods, and basic bait. All you all need to do is settle down on the shore, and cast for as long as you're inclined! (sorry) Turn in your biggest catch when you're done, and Inarah'll make a note as to who who caught what. If you're there at the end of the night, we'll let you know if you're a winner! If you're not, we'll mail you, so there's no need to stick it out all evening. The biggest three catches take their owner home a prize. That's it! Simple. As usual, the bar will be open all night, selling drinks to those who just want a slightly more quiet, but still social atmosphere. And remember folks. Thanks for the shout out! I wouldn't necessarily call us villains; more neutral but definitely not bothered about breaking the law. Chaotic Neutral maybe? We're a morally fluid group of lovable rogues with unique and shifting views of property posession. Although we do branch out into the odd bout of heroic self-sacrifice when needed. Or shift into darker areas if the pay's high enough and the reason is sound. And yush, thanks for the shout!

It's been a titanic challenge, but there's been whorl to whorl RP, some of it thorny, some of it striking, and some of it filled with levinty. It's been a long road to 'march down, but in the end it's worth it. We don't like leaving our members shiva-ing out in the cold. So, what has been happening? Well, there was the little matter of Inarah and Kilid's wedding!
