Re-pack your Gyshal's, folks, the second beach-based Chocorallydashsprintrace (Name has been officially finalised) extraordinaire will also be taking place as the main evening's entertainment tomorrow, for those feeling adventurous! BYOB* or make use of the increased number we've procured for the eve, it makes no difference, we've plotted the course to be fair for birds and riders of all skill levels, with just the right mix of straights and corners to make things interesting. It's all about the skill of the rider...

Compilation time! No theme, no... anything, just pictures <3

By the Twelve, it's been so long since this was bumped it might have looked like we were... not doing anything! (I wish. Maybe that means we could get some sleep rather than RPing until some interesting times in the morning >_> Alas... we've just been focussed a little more on our own little community to ensure that everyone is settled, and fitting in well. And... it's my absolute joy to announce that everyone now seems to be settled and fitting in well! A big welcome to Kheja, Lani and Locke who have joined the ranks of minions members that the Jackals can bring to bear on jobs, complementing our arsenal of offensive Aether users, stinky sneaky Hobbitses, and engineers respectively. We now have an engineer in a salvage company. I'm looking forward to seeing what creeps forth from this dastardly combination. *Cackle* May Locke be successful in engineering... your doom! *Strokes Ming the Merciless beard* So what -has- been happening, event-wise? Well! As Continuing from Inarah's last post, we had another Missing Member (Obviously. That's what we do. It's our thing.)

Jackal & Hide haunt the Missing Member every Monday, 7-ish PM BST for a couple hours drunken fun, and every other Saturday, we're found at the Hidden Falls in Costa del Sol, for the Sunny Seaside Bar. Walk-up RP is highly encouraged, we like meeting new people ICly. New playthings, and all that :3

Thank the Twelve! A night off to try and catch up with the list of other games in the 'to play' list. *Will probably spend it in World of Warships instead of finishing older games*

If you're going to play 3, and you own New Vegas as well (There's a Steam sale coming, they'll be going dirt cheap, most like), then I'd recommend looking into this: https://taleoftwowastelands.com/ - It lets you play FO3 through the New Vegas engine, which makes the entire experience a little more pleasant! Aside from that, as many have said before this, Fallout 3 is a great place to start if you're looking forward to 4, but Fallout and Fallout 2 are great games in their own right, and definitely worth poking into. It's doubtful you'd need to know much, if anything from them, to get the most from 4 however.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you... The newest, greatest damn gang to have ever hit Ul'dah the streets of Ul'dah. Saints Roe

We're getting there! This goes back to 2010: OdbYsHbGYmU Give it... another 5 years, maybe? Hopefully in FFXVII Online, there'll be a resource-friendly implementation. A~~~nd keeping it on track... Would love to see some light 'armour' looks for the caster classes. I think someone above linked some Dragon Age Inquisition pictures. That sort of thing, to make the squishiest of them all at least -look- a little less squishy.

A wise Miqo'te once told me... "War... The bar... The bar never changes." They were so wrong! First, a big congratulations to the talented Rosie Bubblegum for wiping the decks in the Triple Triad tournament! She took home the first prize with a whopping 45 points at the close, closely followed by Ludivine in second with 30, and Xivrez'to and Chokho tying for third place with a respectable 25 a piece. And a great big thank you to everyone who participated, we here at J&H hope you had fun! It was also our great pleasure to give Fheyla Haken a chance to perform in a more public setting, so a big thank you to her, too!

Jackal & Hide are once again proud to present... The Sunny Seaside Bar VII: Crisis Card Aye folks, you read that right. After nearly a full moon, the Sunny Seaside Bar returns to the balmy beaches of Costa, soaking all who attend in shining sun and substantial quantities of spirits. We wondered long and hard* about what to do this time, and the eventual conclusion was that, now that we've gained a large number of confident serving staff, we should take advantage of this and return to something we attempted afore, sans suitable numbers of assistants. And so... the Triple Triad Tournament Edition II has been scheduled for the twentieth bell of the sun, with the wonderful host with the most... Jino'ya Traore! The rules will be explained on the night, all you need to do is... bring your decks. For a duel on... the decks! The prize? Why, it's none other than Something Niceā¢, of course! The bar will, of course, be open all eve for the ever-serious task of socialisation and relaxation under the always-appreciated influence of alcohol. Hope to see faces old and new there, folks! Kilid Mmhmm, it's that time folks! Hot on the heels of** the Wine and Dine Festival, we're going back to basics. Returning to our roots. Sailing back to the Start. Where it all began. The Sunny Seaside Bar! (We missed it something awful!) 19:00 BST, the bar opens. 20:00 BST, those who are interested in the TT Tournament can head off with Jino down the coast to where the game is permitted to be played. Anyone who doesn't want to is of course welcome to remain behind at the bar, most of the staff will be sticking it out over there, basking in the collective company you all bring with your attendance. :love: Hope to see faces new and old there! * I asked Inarah what we should do, she said this, I agreed. It wasn't really all that long a debate if I'm honest with you all. ** Two weeks is "hot on the heels of", for the purpose of this post. Leave me alone ;_;

ae5XwkSguNI Hello children! It's been a while... Although Inarah tided all of you over with a brief update, and a full event summarh, I think you all deserve a little more, as reward for your good behaviour. What follows then, is a full summarisation of the past fortnights happenings! Sans screenshots, as yours truly is currently on his laptop, a couple hundred miles away from his usual desktop. If any Jackals want to chime in later with their own screenshots, that'd be most appreciated! So... that summary, eh? Well! Firstly, our regular Missing Member Monday was cast aside for a fancy shindig at the Kindred's redecorated home. We were all very impressed by the new layout, and a great, drunken, truth or dare-filled time was had be all. None of us dressed all that fancy though, if I'm honest. Aside from Bert. Bert insisted on dressing up. Wednesday, we stuck to the tradition of haing our weekly PvE night. Things that weren't ourselves died in great droves, gearing was on the up, HP levels were way down low, and the overall result was a net profit. Good times, good times... Following that of course, was the Wine and Dine Festival on the Saturday, in which many many people turned up to inflict chatscroll upon us! A whopping great thank you to everyone that turning up, and an equally humongous thank you to all the other Jackals, the Kindred, and Aeon for making the night happen as smoothly as it did! Yours truly ended up with nearly a gigabyte of screenshots by the time the last of us left the Kindred home, and so I'll vouch for the evening having been a fantastic time. :love: Following that, it was off to Bronze Lake on Sunday for the fashion contest. Four Jackals entered the mens fashion entry, and three Jackals took home the first, second and third prize. We're officially the best dressed rogues in Eorzea, folks! (The following feeling may occur should you happen to see Zee, Jino or Xiv walking past in the street: It's a natural feeling, and we highly encourage you to follow through with it.) Monday. Back to the Missing Member for the traditional open company get together! Small, quiet, and fun. Until a naked Roe burst in. And then it ended with the Company leaping from the railings to the waters below. Oh, and following the drinking, we were harassed by a crazy Elezen Hells-bent on setting one of our FC friends aflame. It wasn't a quiet night, actually. Or small. But it was fun! Wednesday: PvE! Last night, Inarah and Stone ran a small salvage event off the southern coast of La Noscea. Being a small salvage event designed to make the FC a tidy profit with minimal risk, four Jackals ended up in the company infirmary, with at least two still there. Best laid plans, eh? Tonight: We're going to be finishing up our current FC storyline! Inarah's at the helm for this one, as it's her character orchestrating all the unnatural goings on of late. Once tonight's concluded, we'll be clear to plan the next Costa bar event, and initiate the next overarching company plot. (We likes our storylines, here, if you couldn't tell already. What's an RP FC witout plot, eh?) And that, folks... is that. For now. We'll be back, promise!

What have YOU done to spread RP to places not Ul'Dah?
Tali replied to OttoVann's topic in RP Discussion
As Nailah touched 'pon above, we host a fortnightly realm-wide bar over in Costa, which gets a nice turnout every time. Additionally, every Monday we have a FC get together in the Missing Member, just across the ways from the Wench, which is also open to just about anyone who wants to stop by and get in some RP. Nearly all of J&H's RP events, with the exception of the last, have been out in the world, and we've bumped into wild RPers on a regular basis doing this, and all has been amazing! Is this done because we want to start a new RP hub? No, that would be a fruitless effort attempted many times by many people. To steal some of that RP away from Ul'dah? Nope, again, not going to happen. Too many people are too invested in Ul'dah to be easily diverted away, and with Heavensward around the corner, it'd be a pointless endeavour now more than ever. If the main RP hub is ever going to change of its own accord now, it'll be 'cause of Heavensward offering a better alternative/setting/insert other reasons. However, we're a Limsan-based FC and it makes sense for us to be around La Noscea, and around La Noscea we shall remain! If you're looking for RP outside of Ul'dah, and you see a Jackal that isn't crafting, or looking like they're about to head out on a gathering expedition, prod them. We loves our RP, we does! :3 -
I'll take that complaint, and raise you the problem with stock, reference 290X's. I've recently downvolted it to keep the temperature down, else that cruddy little single fan that AMD shipped with the first batch of cards whines up to such a point it's comparable to a washing machine, in regards to decibels. Imagine sitting right next to a really loud, angry hair dryer every time your PC did something strenuous. A loud, angry hairdryer that had to limit what it could do because it was getting too hot. A third-party fan arrived Friday, and heatsinks for the RAM arrive tomorrow, hoping to get to get a quiet, overclocked GPU again soon :3

[EU] The first great Eorzean Wine and Dine Festival!
Tali replied to Tali's topic in Chronicled Events
Eeyup, again, a huge thank you to everyone that made it last night. It was great fun! And I'm pretty sure I missed about a dozen emotes, so many apologies to anyone that I inadvertently ignored. Between the chat scroll and turning the UI on and off for screenshots, I'm certain that much was missed. And now, moar images for those that couldn't attend but want to live vicariously through the rest of us! -
Edit: Given how many J&H we have in this, I think I'm going to sit it out and watch. Good luck, and may the best dressed man win.
