[EU-Friendly] Mid-Moon Meanders Market Meet-up (TIME UPDATE)
Tali replied to Maril's topic in Chronicled Events
It's going rather well indeed. We've got clients for cake, clocks, and wrist-mounted cannons! -

So uhh... Kilid asked a question... And Inarah answered it in a very favourable manner... Date and time TBD <3

Awww. If I make one (still a bit undecided), it's going to be a brand spankin' new character. Just waiting for a lore drop before I finalise any plans. This. He'll be brand-spanking new, and glorious. If the character concepts hold with the lore when it's made available to us.

Sir Terry Pratchett, renowned fantasy author, dies aged 66
Tali replied to Nebbs's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
*Sniff* He was a hells of a writer. -
Another date! This time, from the top of the world*! *World being Gullperch Tower. Hells of a view, though! <3

Haukke, Siren and her horde, and, uhh... Tam-Tara Deepcroft HM. To avoid anything more spoiler-y, I'll just leave it there and recommend you check out those instances *Nod*

Historically, I used to be all over pre-orders, especially if the reward for doing so was something nifty/cool/pretty to be used in the game. These days? Eh... not so much. As has been touched upon, the hype of these things lately has been largely disproportionate to the actual quality of the games themselves. Although if early-access counts counts as pre-order, then yeah, I've been pre-ordering that way? >_> World of Diving, Starbound, Space Engineers, and Interstellar Marines all took my money

*Sails in atop the prow of the great ship H.M.S. Roleplay, accompanied by a flyby of roaring Spitfires, union-jack-trailing Dolphins carrying Bulldogs and Corgis, and several military marching bands playing Pomp and Circumstance* moL4MkJ-aLk Updates! As the beautiful Inarah posted prior, a great big welcome to Thya, Z'thara, and Yoral! And a congratulations to Tata on becoming a fully-fledged member after impressing Inarah with his twin blades. May the new blades he's been gifted serve him well in his coming adventures! In other news: The Sunny Seaside Bar event, while quieter (Thankfully! Due to RL reasons we were a little understaffed this week, hence the lack of advertising), was still very entertaining, and hopefully all who turned up had a great time. We hope we'll be seeing more of you all in the future! We just need to decide on the coming theme... Please look forward to it. Oh, and I'll second Inarah's congratulating of Cinaed Wilder who defeated allcomers to be crowned our first Triple Triad Tchampion. May your bottle of Bacchus go down well with whatever you spend your earnings on!

What scares you away from a FC/Guild?
Tali replied to Branson Thorne's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I think someone, way up in the thread, mentioned 'RP friendly' FCs/guilds. I second that so much :3 Commit, or don't. There's no doubt a market for the more casual style, but if you're a roleplayer, it just makes sense to have a guild that's a little more dedicated to the roleplay in my eyes. Cliques are also a big thing. Sadly, they spring up in guilds of all sizes, and I've seen small communities fall apart, and larger guilds implode due to them, so if they're spotted, they get stamped on wherever possible. And the most important thing? Timezones. Being an EU player has led, in the past, to some depressingly quiet times as the largest and most suited guilds all seemed to be US-based, with regular events at awkward times mid-week, or just frustratingly late at weekends. A problem that is, sadly, prevalent across just about every game with global servers. A lot of the EU-based guilds may be smaller overall, but at last I can be confident there'll be people on at the same time as myself. -
Welcome to the RPC! A shame that you couldn't make it to Balmung, but hopefully you'll get lucky and make some great contacts there :3
-
Welcome! Hope to see you around Eorzea sometime.
-
As Inarah said, hello and welcome! Wish you all the best in finding your way onto Balmung. It's worth it!

The Battle of Carteneu & You(Non-Legacy Adventurers)?
Tali replied to Heart Quintessence's topic in RP Discussion
I don't believe our little sept of the Jackal tribe would have had any presence at Carteneu. Life went on that day, and the chaos that ensued was dealt with on a day to day basis. Certainly there would have been plenty to deal with! I do have a couple of untouched Legacy alts however, a Lalafell PLD and a Miqo CON, who were most definitely present at the time... I just need to work out what to do with them. -
Oiled up rassling, and then being a testbed for new and interesting alchemical concoctions, for science? I'm there
-
That's interesting. Maybe, the horns will resonate or pick up tonal vibrations to hear. It works for female Twi'lek's, so it's a definite possibility. Kinda cool, if so. Fingers shall remain crossed until more lore is drip-fed to us.

No Catgroove? Shocking. tat49m9Cjqo And another classic catsong! (Kinda...): KUwjNBjqR-c

Inarah beat me to it, I see. Yush, we're aware, and have taken steps to circumvent the limitation! We're awesome like that. (Now sort the limitation out, Square!)

A huge welcome to Thya, who joined us yesterday as the resident go-to metalworker for the guild! I reckon we have one or two spots left before we close off company recruitment for a while and focus on group development. If you feel you have anything to bring to the table, you want in on a close-knit group of RPers, and you remembered to bring gear with +resistance to Godsawful puns, pester us via the RPC or whisper! In other news, last night we held a sortamini training event on the beach for our young Lala protege, Tata. Sadly, it seems he's not really an axeman, but he does appear to be a natural with the ol' knives.

*Wave* What Inarah said, welcome back to the wonderful world of RP!

More from the Seekers. This time with added sun.

[EU-Friendly] Mid-Moon Meanders Market Meet-up (TIME UPDATE)
Tali replied to Maril's topic in Chronicled Events
Sounds great! Jackal & Hide will be there in some form or capacity, either to peruse these showcased goods, or maybe to try and strike up some more trading deals. It's a bit late, perhaps, but being a Saturday that shouldn't be as much of an issue, so even that's covered... good stuff! :3 -
A triple (Triad?) dose of news today, folks! Firstly, I'm happy to report... that... No, I'm sorry. I can't say something about news and not do this: z6ODMDtG6-I Where was I? Oh yeah. So, I'm happy to report that last night, Jackal & Hide held another guild plot event, and it was a smash! There was subterfuge! There was intrigue! There was... arson? Anyway, it was fun, and thank you to all those in J&H (And out) that could make it. Screenshots are to be found below, as ever. (And a huge thank you to Tata's friend that let us abuse their house for the evening. Any fire damage that may have ensued will of course be covered entirely by... someone.) Second! It's my great pleasure to announce two new acquisitions made by our HR department. P'etri Ksobwa and Helia Haloren have officially joined the fray after RPing with us on and off for some time. It's a great honour to have such talented RPers (And dungeoneers) join the ranks! Thank you, both of you :3 And finally, we're still recruiting! While we're not looking to take on too many more people, there's still room for one or two more folks we feel would mesh well with the rest of the group ICly. So, if you're looking for a home where work runs the gamut, from mingling and serving drinks at the fortnightly Sunny Seaside Bar event, to business dealings both honest and... otherwise, depending on the motivation, then send Inarah or myself a message via the RPC or IG, and we'll see what can be arranged. Kilid, out.

Jackal & Hide are proud to present... The Sunny Seaside Bar II: Triple Triad Tournament Edition. (Turbo*) We've thought long and hard about what to do for this event, given that Godbert stole our Chocobo racing track the Golden Saucer now hosts a far better, glorious, wonderful and much improved version of our race track. There was only one answer. There's a craze sweeping the nations. It's a bug that's bitten people from all walks of life. A competitive desire burning in the hearts of men and women alike. It spares nobody, young or old, rich or poor. It's Triple Triad. On the beach. Starting halfway through the 7th Bell past the midday sun, on the 7th sun of the 2nd Astral Moon, Jackal & Hide will be hosting several mini-tournies for those of a mind to find fame and glory. And once the dust and sand settles, and a final winner of the evening remains, standing tall**, we'll be there, to present them with their prize. For their shall be a prize... The victor of the Sunny Seaside Bar: Triple Triad Tournament Edition will be the proud owner of nothing less than Something Niceā¢! And, of course, free drinks for the entirety of the evening as part of that prize. Now, it's worth pointing out that due to whichever law it is that's in place that prohibits gambling via cards is going to be in effect at the bar. There's nothing we can do about that, the law's the law, and in this instance, we're very much inclined to obey it. However, try as the law might, they can't stop us completely! Instead, we'll be hosting the tournament in Costa del Sol proper, on the upper decks overlooking the coast, presenting a calm and relaxing vista for our intrepid duelists! We know that TT isn't going to be to everyone's tastes, and that's why there's no pressure to join in. We'll be hosting the tournament towards the south, near Gegeruju due to the limitations SE have placed on where you can play TT. This leaves the bar free for socialising, which is nice! On the offchance that people prefer it over at Gegeruju's, in Costa del Sol proper, then we may be inclined to move the event over that way. That's still up in the air, and depends on how many people are interested in the tournament. Naturally, with an event like this, we couldn't resist the idea of a theme for the night. Anyone dressed in three colours*** receives a discount on their drinks for the evening. Intent on turning up in a bikini? Dye your sandals! Tournament rules: The first version of the tournament will be open to card players of all abilities, with separate tournaments for people of varying levels of confidence and ability popping up in future events, depending on popularity and demand. Entrants will submit their name to a member of staff on the evening, and will be paired off to challenge one another. The duel consists of three rounds, with a "Best of three" ruleset in play. If someone wins two rounds in a row, they progress automatically. At this stage of play, there's no restrictions on cards that you can play. Future events may introduce deck themes and restrictions. Card rulesets, such as All Open/Three Open/Sudden Death, etc shall be decided on the night. We're open to recommendations and will take popular opinion into account. Currently, that's it! Rules may be tweaked nearer the time, but we'll make it abundantly clear if that's the case. The bar opens officially at 7pm GMT, and the games at 7:30 GMT. Hope to see you all there! * Just kidding. The Turbo version will of course be saved for a future version of the event. Someday, we might even throw in a Super, too! ** Lalafell need not stand tall. Just... do the best you can. *** Three dyes. We're aware that the game won't let you dye an outfit completely, so we'll overlook any minor additional colours, such as trim or detailing.
